I had my consultation and heard the price breakdown, then visited other companies to make sure I was getting the best services. I came back to Wang Vision, and I'm still very happy with my choice. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the procedures and helped me feel secure in my decision. There was a student/trainee that attended my consultation with Karen, and I was glad to hear that they take so many students for training at this location. (The student did a great job, too!) Cameron made sure that I felt supported and explained my available options in a very accessible way. Dr. Jones and his assistant performed the surgery in a separate room, and the procedure itself was very fast (like 20 minutes under the laser). Admittedly I sat under the machine for a bit longer because they had to wait for my eyes to numb, so the entire consultation session (redone during day of surgery) and actual surgery took about 3 hours. Then, you go back the next day for a follow up to make sure everything looks ok. I have overall felt supported and informed in my decision to go with Wang Vision Institute. I recently had my Zeiss Smile surgery done at Wang vision. The staffers were punctual and friendly, Cassandra the nurse was very patient and thorough in my eye evaluation, the coordinator Cameron was very helpful in explaining to me the cost of the procedure, the implications and after care. Dr. Zimmerman proposed two ways my surgery can be done, one gets both eyes to 20/20, the other one that could help me read without relying as much on reading glasses (I need reading glasses at my age). We used correction glasses and tried both scenarios, he was very detailed in explaining and informing me both solutions and what they entail in the future. I was able to make an informed decision. And finally, it was doctor Guduru who performed the surgery. It was a great success, and without any pain or adverse feelings. I was sent home with a post surgery care package and instructions on recovery. Before having an eye procedure done for cleaning out my eyelashes I was actually told that my vision would improve greatly, but after having the procedure done one of the text, I guess she was in training worked on my eye, but she hurt my right eye really bad so I've been nervous because I was having a little pain and I didn't know that they would use a heat very close to my eye. I thought they so that kind of scared me. They say my eye isn't damaged, but I'm still having slight problems and it really doesn't seem like it did much improvement. I just feel as if it was a waste of 700 bucks. I just don't want anybody that's in training working on something that's important as my eyes she end up stopping with someone else took over. Dr. Ming Wang is truly a gem in the industry. The office is upscale and clean; the staff is friendly, kind and genuine. My initial introduction to the Wang vision Institute is a combination of seeing the movie "Sight" which I was so thoroughly impressed with, and then getting on a webinar to learn about their practice. I was at what I perceived their expertise to be that I immediately made an appointment to fly to the clinic from Las Vegas. I knew this was of the best eye doctor practices in the country and I did not want to have anybody working on cataract surgery Dr Guduru did an amazing job in explaining the process to me and then in the actual surgery on my eye. By the next day, my vision had significantly improved after having my cataract removed and replacing it with a high quality lens. Wang Vision Institute has been a really good experience for me and my family. I had to have a bilateral cataract removal and lens replacement, very scary for me. My husband and I did a lot of research, and we actually called all of the local competition to WVI and hands down from the very first phone call I was in for WVI. From the very first phone call, the young lady was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was able to tell me exactly how much to expect to spend per eye, how long the first appointment would take and she scheduled me quickly. Other offices were unable to give me a ball park figure, needed to have financial experts call me back before making an appointment, and one establishment I won't mention, but I do happen to know they accept a lot of federal grants, actually refused to see me since I was cash pay. Again, WVI immediately had a price range and a time frame easy for me from the lady that answered the initial phone call. The initial visit is several tests with the nurse who is very friendly and patient and then he explains the process of what to expect with the doctor. The doctor spent over a half hour with me answering all my questions and even talking to me about my allergies to meds and what they would do to take good care of me. Cameron our surgical coordinator was amazing. He even comforted me while I cried like a baby. He went over the different payment plans and encouraged us to go home and decide what we wanted to do. When we went to check out we had been there over two hours, working with someone the whole time, very little waiting time, and there was no charge. What? This was the free consultation and I mean it was A LOT! So we scheduled and they actually got me in the next week, and it was like a whirlwind. They had everything worked out and a list for me to make sure I knew where to be, who to pay, and all the other details. The surgical center and the procedure itself went well both times with two different nurses and two different anesthesiologists but it was great and easy both times. Dr. Jones is the surgeon that took care of me and he was amazing, he called me the evening of the first surgery, and he actually spent plenty of time with me every time I've seen him. WVI definitely makes you feel like the patient experience is what is important to them, and that is rare in medical facilities anymore. I would absolutely use this facility and Doctor again and I would absolutely refer them to my friends and family. I decided to see better this year , after doing my research I decided to go with Dr. Wang. (Best decision ever) His office and staff was amazing . I opted for the SMILE procedure with the help and explanation of the doctors. From the very start to the very end nothing short of amazing . This year, I finally decided it was time to have corrective eye surgery performed and be free of the tyranny of my high prescription eyeglasses forever haha. Living in Nashville, I scoured the Internet for the best firms in Nashville, and I stumbled across the Wang Vision Institute. Setting up an appointment was easy, and they were flexible with my schedule. On the day of the appointment, each of the staff I interacted with were highly professional and took their jobs seriously. The facility is top-notch, and I instantly felt like I had made the right decision coming to the Wang Vision Institute. The actual surgery was quick and effective (although it always feels longer when it's going on!). Had such a wonderful experience! Went in for a consultation and was approved for both SMILE and Lasik. Ended up going with the SMILE procedure, same day! Everyone there was so lovely and friendly--- which was helpful as I was pretty nervous. The procedure was so much better than anticipated, I did not feel a thing and the recovery was very easy too! I feel super lucky! The individuals in the room with me during the procedure were very sweet and talked me through what was happening. This place was terrible. I had a 2:30PM appointment, which I took work off for, which resulted in the doctor only being able to see me around 3:45pm. Nice! Care was fine, but they clearly misdiagnosed me. I came in with serious eye pain, irritation, inflammation, and they brushed it off as a contact lens issue, gave me low-dosage steroid eye drops and artificial tears regimen, told me to come back in 3 weeks but my pain should be alleviated in 3-4 days. Pain had not subsided at all, only gotten worse, and I went to get another opinion from another doctor, who, after confirming with a third doctor's office, told me that I had contracted uveitis and needed to be on steroid eyedrops about 4x as strong, and that if I had waited even 2 more days, I would have completely lost vision in my eye. Now, I'm calling Dr. Wang's office to try to dispute my $150 bill for allowing me to almost lose my vision, and they are saying that I should have called them back, set up another appointment to reassess my condition, and because I hadn't done that, they will not do anything about the charge. I'm sorry, but since when do you have a bad experience at a doctor's office, do you want to schedule another appointment with them? What rational person would go BACK to a doctor who, had you followed their first instruction, could have resulted in permanent loss of vision. I don't recommend anyone to this place! read more

This place gave us a complimentary consult and same day treatment, which was great considering I work as a welder and can't wear my glasses at work - so I was able to plan this around our annual shut down. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when things got a little difficult with the HSA card. We got there about 15 minutes early and got called back right away, exam was fast and easy, took a few minutes for the doctor to come back, he was friendly and examined me quickly, answering all of our questions thoroughly and without making us feel any type of way about them, the financial coordinator took a while to come in, but was helpful one he got in there and explained the pricing for us, even helped us apply for financing. The front helped us deal with HSA card issues, worked with my night shift schedule, and I even checked in on Facebook and got my girlfriend a Starbucks gift card! The only complaint about that process is some of the things they "upsold" us on - I didn't feel like gave the best explanation. The eyelid cleaning - was a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't ever get that or recommend it to anyone. I felt like it was a waste of money, didn't do much, but also wasn't fully explained just recommended/told I had to get. The lady who did it cleaned them with a brush, which was fine, but then used the bright light (without telling me it would be a bright light, right after my eyes were dilated) and shoved it into my eye socket, even when I pulled back and told her it was really tough her response "yeah it's a little uncomfortable" with a laugh - just felt like she didn't truly know how to do it right and caused a lot of pain before I even had the procedure. I asked for the Valium beforehand/told her they should give it before that as I was already anxious - she just laughed and said I get it after. My girlfriend even went home and watched some videos on the treatment and says that is NOT how the lady did it - for $650 an eye I feel like that should've been a better experience. I also think they could've explained the SMILE procedure itself a little better and how the flow would go - I was anxious about the laser, but not being able to move at all for thirty seconds sent my anxiety and blood pressure skyrocketing - and I feel I would've been better prepared if they told me ahead of time what to expect. I also got the little tear duct plugs they recommend - and then at the follow up the next day had to have one taken out, just didn't make sense, if they were that needed why was it removed next day, but the rest stay for 3-4 months. Overall I had a good experience and I would do it again without question. My vision was improved that day, and other than a little blurriness I'm able to see without corrective lenses for the first time in my life - and I had HORRIBLE vision. I just wish they had explained a little more and helped me feel fully confident in everything I paid for. To anyone wanting to get it done - they were great, I wouldn't personally recommend the eyelid cleaning - BUT the staff was amazing and the procedure has changed my life. read more

My initial and checkup exams have been with Dr. Zimmerman, who was very knowledgeable and took time to answer all of my questions. I went in today for my consultation. I am very happy with how thorough the tests were and the female doctor I saw (I forgot her name) was extremely patient, kind, and knowledgeable. My only concern/issue is with the price. They charge almost double. To get the price down I must attend a Zoom seminar and pressure family and friends to attend as well. (The more attendees you get, the more of a discount you get.) I feel like I'm in elementary school trying to awkwardly pressure family and neighbors to sponsor me for a walk-a-thon. And if I'm not selected to win the 50% off prize, I won't be able to afford the surgery. I will have to start the process all over with another doctor. The ideal experience at Wang Vision Institute. I initially came in for a consult in April of 2022 and was planning for a same day procedure which isn't uncommon for patients who come in for laser surgery. I was provided thorough and prompt instructions and guidelines via email prior to coming in. Once in the office, the staff completed the initial tests/exams to determine if I was a candidate for Lasik and/or SMILE. I was a candidate for both, fortunately and ultimately opted for SMILE because of my "high prescription", over -4.0 in each eye. Right before the procedure when getting ready to pay, I ran into a hiccup with my FSA provider that unfortunately resulted in me postponing my procedure to a future date. The staff and my coordinator were understanding and had no issues whatsoever - they went above the call of duty to help me try and resolve the issues with my FSA and kept in touch in the meantime. Once the FSA issue was resolved, I rescheduled and had a great experience - once again. The surgery went very smoothly and I had 20/20 vision by the next day, with improvements still on the horizon. Couldn't be happier that I won't need to deal with contacts/glasses for many many years! The procedure itself was painless, a slight amount of pressure (and let's be honest, there are many doctors visits in life when they say you might feel "slight discomfort, or pressure" and sometimes that discomfort and pressure feels a lot more intense than you were expecting)..but in this case, with my right eye I don't think I felt hardly anything! The left eye, I felt a bit more pressure but no pain. Almost like a 5 second headache which quickly resolved. The post ops instructions were clear and laid out prior to the surgery and we were provided everything we needed before the surgery. The only item needed that wasn't provided was prescription eye drops, which they called in to my pharmacy before we left. As a tip for future patients, it's called Moxifloxacin, and you will have to pay out of pocket for this. I recommend finding a discounted price on GoodRx, so when you let them know your pharmacy, they can send it to one with the price you want. Because it would have been $90-150 pharmacy rate, but we got it for $20 at Publix and it was only $13.99 on GoodRx at Costco. Lessons learned! All in all, a wonderful experience without a hitch. Dr. Wang was kind and thoughtful. I'm not an anxious person around medical persons or procedures, but I know for people who may have more anxiety, the staff and Dr. Wang will take amazing care of you and help you feel at peace. As far as costs go, you will pay per eye and there are some additional "per eye" costs that are additional and some upgrade packages. I would classify it as an investment that is well worth it but make sure you have a good understanding of the costs before committing. SMILE is more expensive than Lasik because it's a newer technology. But recognize, this was not an inexpensive investment and maybe something you'd like to weigh based on your current prescription and investment in eye care regularly. With annual visits, new lens and glasses annually for me, and $200 worth of 2-week contacts per year, it will pay itself off in a short while. The price of the years of convenience is something to consider as well! The base price also includes post op visits, the procedure, and the post op materials. Altogether, I couldn't be happier and I have a feeling the more I heal, the happier I will be with the results. PROS: I can see. CONS: Process slows down once you pay. Be prepared for high-pressure tactics asking you to leave a positive review. I've been thinking about LASIK surgery for 20 years, yes 2-0. Fear of all things eyeball kept me from taking the plunge, but I finally felt fed-up with my contacts. I narrowed down the surgery to Dr. Loden & Dr. Wang. I think they are both fine choices. THE CONSULTATION: I started with the seminar (25% off), which you will need because apparently for the price of LASIK you could buy a used car. The consultation takes 2.5 hours. During that time, they numb your eyes, poke, prod them, & torture them with various lights & apparatuses. They were understanding about the fact that the process sucks & to their credit, I was never sitting around waiting. They then connect you with a patient coordinator who hands you the price tag & suggests which way to go before you are passed to Dr. Wang. He will look over your test results, look at your eyeballs, & tell you everything you've already read on his website but in a soft-spoken manner. THE POST-CONSULTATION PHASE: For some reason, I started panicking after the consultation. Dr. Wang had mentioned that most of his patients get plugs that will dissolve. According to the internet :), plugs should be used as a last resort. Then I found an article about a whistle-blower doctor who blew the lid on a LASIK center for up-charging customers for plugs in the name of profit. To be blunt, this made me lose a lot of trust & I felt sick to my stomach and nervous. I ended up emailing my concerns to Dr. Wang's office, & he called me that night. During our call, I voiced my concerns about the plugs & also other things that I had started to freak out about. After reading on the internet (don't do that) I also started panicking about flap LASIK vs PRK non-flap surgery. And I really wanted PRK. I was able to talk to Dr. Wang about both concerns. The fact that he personally called me & had zero ego about my concerns meant a lot. He explained that plugs are preventative & as so many people have dry eye after surgery, they're worth it. He said I could choose the surgery I wanted (PRK or LASIK), & to let them know what I wanted the day of. THE SURGERY: The day of the surgery I was scheduled to come in at 10:30, I didn't leave until 2:30 = long day. I arrived, they got me in, I told them I wanted PRK, they talked me out of it :). I ended up getting LASIK. They confirmed my prescription & asked me to finalize my payment. I did. Then things slowed down. Ironically or because they had my money? I will never know. But my husband & I did have a good laugh about it. We waited and waited and when they called me again, it was time. They had given me a Valium in advance, it didn't do a damn thing. I told them so, they told me I'd be fine. Did it hurt? No. Was it uncomfortable? At times, it was. A Valium that worked would have been welcome. The clamping of the eye isn't pleasant, & then they do this suction thing which makes everything go black. I'm not going to lie, I flat-out panicked. I wasn't calm, but tried to use yogic breathing, & I managed to stay still enough that it was over before I knew it. I had a teddy bear & a husband. I recommend bringing both if you can as they brought me a lot of comfort. When the surgery was over, I was in complete shock, & I was shaking from hyperventilating during my panic attack. Even though I expressed that I was dizzy, they tried to hurry me off the bed. They moved me to another chair to insert plugs. Before I had even left the operating room, they had another patient in the bed prepping for her procedure. I wasn't into this part at all. Seems like an assembly line. FOLLOW-UP That night there was slight discomfort for a couple of hours.You have to keep your eyes closed for the day. Day two I could see pretty well & I had my follow-up appointment with Dr. Wang, which was a joke. He's so sweet, but the whole visit consisted of waiting for him, a quick look at my eyes, & then a marketing recruitment. "Post this pic on Facebook, write a review here & write one here." Not going to lie, this freaks me out! I want honest reviews, not forced reviews written by half-blind recovering LASIK patients that feel obligated because they were put on a time crunch to write a review before leaving the office. 6 MONTHS LATER: My eyes took forever to heal. They were dry & I feared they would be like that forever. It wasn't until month 3 that I noticed my life might not consist of eye drops every hour. But, they didn't actually heal for 6 months! My advice to others is to remember that you may wake up & be fine the next day, but it may take 3-6 months. Be prepared for that, don't get discouraged if this happens to you. Tips: Take fish oil pills, get a humidifier, & get the surgery done in the summer. They didn't tell me until AFTER my surgery that those that have surgery in the winter usually suffer dry eye more. read more

He preformed Lasik on my husbands eyes and ruined them. He still wears glasses and has terrible dry eyes. He could not see after the surgery and Dr. Wang tried to fix it but made it worse. Rather than having you read about my entire great experience and then give my overall summary, I'll get straight to the point upfront. Yesterday afternoon, I had the SMILE procedure done on both eyes by Dr Wang. The following morning (today), I went back in for a post-op follow-up and both eyes are now a perfect 20/20 - in less than 24 hours! What an awesome experience! SMILE definitely made me smile! Now for background. I'm 45/m and have been wearing contacts and glasses since I was a teenager. Several years ago, my vision stabilized in both eyes at -4.75 (nearsighted). I finally felt that the time was right, to look into the options of Lasik surgery. Of course, Dr Wang was my only consideration. I arrived at Dr Wang's office and was treated so very well by all staff and doctors. I was given the expected vision tests and then told my options for correction. After careful consideration, I decided to go with SMILE. At that point, I was taken to surgery where I was placed on the operating table and prepped. Dr Wang then came into the room and introduced himself. First thing he immediately asked me to do, was close my eyes...and then he initiated a prayer over us! WOW!! Dr Wang started on my right eye first, and the procedure for my left eye went exactly the same. During the surgery Dr Wang and his staff were in constant communication with me. They guided me verbally thru the entire process...telling me what I was about to see and feel, asked how I was doing, paced my breathing, and they gave me a countdown of when certain tasks were being completed. I cannot give enough gratitude for that. I was literally in one of the most vulnerable moments in my life, and to have all their reassuring voices there to guide me, helped make it so much more comfortable. Dr Wang is truly amazing. I have NEVER been treated so well as a patient anywhere. Later that evening after the surgery, Dr Wang personally called me to check in, see how I was doing, and he reiterated how well the surgery went. How many Doctors do that?! Dr Wang is sincere, humble, and truly appreciates being able to help people. I just want to conclude, by saying once more, how much I appreciate everyone there. This review isn't just for new patients, but for the staff to see my gratitude. My vision is now perfect and my life is forever changed. To each one of you personally, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Recently got Lasik's surgery with Dr. Frenkel at Wang's Vision Institute. They did a phenomenal job start to finish. From the evaluation (catching things that no other eye examination I've had in the last 10 years had) to the actual surgery (painless and able to see with 20/20 vision the next day!!)... just all around fantastic!! It is a LONG day at the office. You can go in for your consultation and get surgery done the same day. . I tell people to do more research as the price is significantly higher than every other location. The office is in a high rise. Its a nice office visually. There is so many members of staff. You get passed off from person to person. There's no one you stay with that you can connect with or feel comfortable. I went during covid restrictions so guests were no allowed. During any surgery you feel vulnerable and unfortunately unable to make a connection with a staff member was a big downside. They don't get to know you as they have so many patients in a large waiting room. Every visit i have gone back to, I never felt acknowledged by the staff. It's a very transactional office. I feel like this location is best suited for patients who might have high risks or medical conditions that require specialized care in order to get LASIK. Yesterday I underwent my LASIK surgery with Dr. Wang. This place is very thorough, taking many tests before doing the procedure. This made me have more trust in Dr. Wang and his systems. I had somewhat severe astigmatism, and he said I was a tough case. I am a cosmetic/general dentist, so my eyes are very important for my work. He then went on to show me a text book he had written on the subject of astigmatism, this let me know I was in the right place. It looks like he's basically worked on every celebrity that lives in Nashville, from looking around his office. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The exam is very thourough, and takes a little while for all the data to be collected, but I think it probably makes the surgery safer. The actual procedure might have taken 2-3 minutes. Wang Vision Institute - Post op visit with Dr. Wang. - Optometrists Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

I wish I could write a glowing review for Wang Vision Institute like the vast majority of reviews I have read. My distance vision was quite good but I did require reading glasses and had been told that I might need cataract surgery. I went to see Dr. Wang in January 2018 because I felt like it was the best place to go based on what I had read and I was not looking for a bargain - I knew the cataract surgery would be more expensive there. After my initial exam, I was presented with the idea that I could have the cataract surgery, have a "Forever Young" lens implant and later have Lasik procedure if needed to perfect my vision. All this, and the idea that I might then not need to wear glasses was appealing to me. Price tag was $8,800 per eye or a total of $17,600. And yes, I was told that as with any surgical procedure that there were risks but was assured that it was rare and that "it almost never happens" And yes, I signed various documents acknowledging that I had been advised of the risks. The cataract surgery was done in January 2018 with no problem. In May 2018 Dr. Wang did a YAG procedure. The Lasik procedure was then done in February 2019. In March 2019 I had a detached retina in my right eye causing loss of vision. I was told that Dr. Wang did not treat the detached retina condition and was immediately referred to the Tennessee Retina Center. They were able to restore my vision until the retina detached again the following month. Another surgery was performed in an effort to restore my vision but was not successful. Third surgery was done in May 2019, also not successful to restore vision. Fourth surgery in October 2019 to remove silicone oil. Prognosis from Tennessee Retina Center is that no further procedures are recommended. I am now blind in my right eye and have to wear glasses for distance vision in my left eye. I have chronic dry eyes requiring eye drops multiple times a day. I can't see well enough to drive at night and probably shouldn't drive at all. I continued to keep appointments at the Wang Vision Institute but they can only treat me for chronic dry eyes. I asked Dr. Connelly at Wang Vision Institute if Dr. Wang had been made aware of my situation and she assured me that he had. I consider my decision to have these procedures done one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. read more

11/10 recommend! Everyone was so friendly and very thoroughly answered all my questions regardless of how silly. Even the on call doctor helped me calm down when I started panicking by using one of my drops at the wrong time.
