Since my layover in Amsterdam was relatively short and the airport was gi-normous there wasn't much I could do besides find the closest lounge to unwind a little before the haul back to the States. This lounge was the closest to my gate. Since AMS is KLM's home airport there are two lounges. Alas, the bifurcated lounges aren't a capacity issue but for travelers to Schengen and Non-Schengen destinations. I'm not sure what the thinking behind that criteria is but it forced me to come to this lounge. I say 'forced' but the lounge was definitely built for a larger crowd. The escalator on the way up passes all the little windmills. I checked in and that was about it, there wasn't much in the way of a warm greeting or even a quick run down of the layout of the lounge. Which is a shame because the lounge was divided into different themes that represent the Dutch landscapes (didn't know that until AFTER my visit) nor was I aware that the 'Sky' bar was an additional fee until I tried to walk up there. I was consoled by Heineken bar in the 'City' section but still, no hard liquor at a lounge? The City is also where the buffet food is and while it decor was kind of fun the food was honestly, just ok and while I'd been recently spoiled by the lounges in Europe even some of the American lounge food was arguably better.
The lounge looks beautiful. But it was so crowded and almost impossible to find a seat (primary reason for the lower rating). The food was okay. It's better than the priority pass lounges. Didnt get a chance to try their other amenities but the wall decorations and their little aviation knowledge areas were cool.
As far as lounges go, KLM's flagship lounge at AMS is huge with multiple floors, food & drink options, meeting space, and KLM houses lining the walls. My husband and I had a short layover at AMS on our business class ticket so we headed to the KLM Crown Lounge. I had looked at airport map and thought there were two KLM lounges but everyone pointed us to this one. We scanned our boarding passes and walked in. We found seats, used the restroom, grabbed some coffee and champagne, grabbed some breakfast food items, then explored a little before heading to our gate. It was a hectic 2 hour layover and strangely we didn't need to go through customs as we were transiting. We fully expected to since they are part of the Schengen area but we ended up just walking around the airport. While the lounge offers a bar area not all drinks are included with lounge admission. We opted for the complimentary stuff. We were about to board and eat some more on the plane so we kept it simple. There is a lot of space to unwind so while it was busy, there were quiet spots upstairs and in corners. I'm glad we had a chance to check it out. Onward to the next adventure.
This visit was my second time. I think I visited two or three years ago. My goal was to get some rest. The staff was very nice and directed me to the far back of the lounge where there is a room in which the door can be shut. Or pay for a sleep pod. I opted for the quiet room. The space was clearly well-used. Many other folks had the same idea. the room is well ventilated. There is a tap for still or sparkling water with glasses. I also signed up for a shower. You get an email notification that your shower is ready. All in all the space is very nice!
This lounge is huuuge--probably the largest I've been to. Like they could easily fit 500 people between the upstairs and downstairs spaces. Considering this is KLM's headquarters I didn't expect less tho! They've decorated it in a very open format with tons of open sofa seating, lounge chairs, work stations, and a theater seating area on the first floor, and full restaurant and bar seating on the second. Loved that they had storage lockers, strong WiFi, and sleeping areas available for reservation. Bathrooms were clean. The Blue restaurant and bar dining upstairs required additional payment via Euros or mileage points. Regular food and drinks consisted of a couple stations on the first floor, though only the main station was open when I was there mid/late afternoon on a Sunday. There was a hot bar, prepared salad bar, and a cold deli meat/cheese counter, some bread/crackers. Most of the hot bar food was mediocre, a couple items were more passable. The prepared salad bar options were quite good--I enjoyed the beet salad, the green apple and golden raisin salad, and pasta salad. The deli meats and cheeses were ok, edible. I did appreciate they had taps for both seltzer and regular water at the drink stations. Other options were fairly standard, soda (Coke, Fanta, Sprite), sweetened ice tea (Lipton?), expresso machines available. Cute that they had a robot that helped bus dirty dishes--you kinda have to walk briskly behind it to place your dishes on its back shelves as it glides down the walkways. It was kinda funny watching a few people trying to chase it down. They have a regular (human) cleaning crew too tho! Note: I was told by KLM staff that this lounge is for customers flying from Schengen to non-Schengen zones, meaning this is past passport control. If you are flying within Schengen countries it makes more sense to go to KLM's Crown 25 lounge instead.
Descent size as well as lounges go. They were serving breakfast when I was there at 9am. Better food and liquor for purchase. IMHO either elevate the included offerings or don't offer better food and drinks for purchase. It already costs in terms of miles/airfare to qualify for entry into the lounge that the idea of having to pay again once inside is a turnoff.
One of two KLM Crown Lounges at Schiphol Airport (the other being 25), this one is so much bigger and better than 25. 52 was closer to our assigned gate when we were going home at the end of our long European trip. Going up the escalator, you are welcomed by endless KLM Dutch houses that world business class passengers are able to collect. Scan your boarding pass at the entrance and you are inside in an instant. 52 has two stories to it, where we chose to sit on the second floor with an outdoor patio that has the perfect view of the departure runway. We took a seat outside before my dad and I went back inside to get our food and coffee. The sliding doors leading to the inside didn't open and we were worried that we have gotten locked out or something, until someone sitting nearby pressed a button to open the door. Here, they have someone that makes your own coffee at the coffee bar, which is a huge plus here. They also had numerous selections of pastries and croissants for breakfast, which I also picked up. I spent the entire lounge visit plane spotting while enjoying my breakfast and coffee until it was time to leave and board our flight, since 52 has an outdoor patio overlooking the departure runway and a few gates. This was the highlight of my lounge visit here. I enjoyed this so much that I didn't feel like leaving haha. 52 was my favorite lounge to hang out at at Schiphol and I'm looking forward to my next visit!

It opens before/at 5am but hot food options will not be available that early. However, you'll find fruit yogurt breads sliced vegetables cheese deli meats and, of course, coffee ready. To be expected, the lounge fills up quickly during daytime as it's quite popular.

Upon entry you climb a regal set of escalators flanked by Delft Blue Houses (as you proceed around the lounge you continue to be surrounded by more). There are multiple different settings for lounging and dining throughout the multiple floors. I was there for a quick breakfast so not everything was necessarily up and running but I could easily see the potential for all the buzz and it would be hard to see how this place would overcrowd like most other lounges given its size. One neat feature about this lounge is that you if you didn't like the house they gave you on the plane you can exchange it for another one of your choice as they have the full panoramic collection on display. Makes AMS place a worthwhile spot for a stopover especially if just transiting through the EU since there's no need for passport control to access this lounge.

I've been visiting KLM Crown Lounge 52 since it first opened its doors years ago, and I remember being so impressed by the design and the "wow" factor back then. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, the experience has really started to slide. It's the flagship lounge for KLM's home hub, but honestly, it's becoming a bit embarrassing for the brand. The biggest issue is the overcrowding. It feels more like a busy train station than an exclusive retreat. What's most frustrating is that they have that expensive "Blue" pay-to-eat restaurant taking up a massive chunk of the upper level. It's usually half-empty while everyone else is downstairs cramped together. If they just integrated that space back into the regular lounge area, it would breathe so much life back into the place. As for the food, it's just aggressively average. You'd think a flagship lounge would showcase some high-quality dining, but it feels very "mass production" and lacks any real flavor or variety. Then there's the cleanliness/pest issue. On my last visit, I actually saw a mouse zip across the floor. I know Schiphol has a well-known reputation for a mouse problem because of its location and age, but seeing one in what is supposed to be a "premium" lounge is still a major turn-off. KLM really needs to step it up. Between the crowds, the average snacks, and the uninvited furry guests, it's just not the world-class experience it used to be. They could--and should--do a lot better than this. read more
The lounge is located in departure hall 2. It is very large lounge with many seating options, booths, table, lounge chairs, even restaurant, etc. Wifi is not too bad. Since I was here during breakfast, menu is simple, continental breakfast. Bathroom is simple stall, clean. No shower or massage chairs. It is good option though. The signing process is automatically slef checking but no instructions until you are in side of the lounge! read more

Average lounge, super crowded and lots of people walking in and out. Food options were meh. Lots of seats though. This lounge access came with my flight from a business travel so I went in to check it out. Good to use the WiFi for a bit but didn't stay too long. read more

Huge space with people scattered in all nooks. Scan your boarding pass to enter in either direction. There are food stations scattered around and full bar. We went straight to the shower kiosk. There should really be a sign because everybody asks the sleep pot of lady about showers, but you were supposed to book it on the kiosk. Scan your boarding pass and it'll give you a option of times. It will then email you , your timeslot with a QR code to on the door that it assigns you. Warning you can lock the shower door. My partner walked in on someone because the system gave him a QR code for their shower while they were still inside. Flawed system. Sleep pods you have to pay for. There is a digital board with flight times and a robot cleaner. read more

KLM Crown Lounge 52 might actually be the best lounge I've ever been in. I wasn't sure if the $56 I spent to get lounge access was worth. Oh, it was 100% percent worth it! First off, this lounge is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE. Like, there are a TON of people in here. And yet, I realized pretty quickly if I walked around long enough that there was always going to be an available seat for me. There's dining seats, couches, individual seats, business seats, basically any kinda seat you would want you can probably get. Not just that, but there's like two different floors and everything is super modern. Food options are pretty good for lounge food. Everything was freshly prepared and presented in buffet style. Mostly non-Dutch food, all of it was pretty delicious though. I was even able to take advantage of the showers here, which was actually quite nice since I definitely sweated up a storm trying to get from Amsterdam Centraal to Schiphol. You can sign up for a time slot, they e-mail a QR code to you, and then you use the QR code to enter the shower. Actually pretty neat! Schiphol itself might suck, but KLM Crown Lounge 52 is worth it on its own for me to deal with the airport. This lounge is amazing! read more
This is a good lounge. It has all the basics that you would expect...comfy chairs, hot food, etc. Given that this is a KLM's hometown, would have expected something more grand but I think in true Dutch form, it's good, efficient, and understated. read more
Very nice Club really enjoyed the experience. Love the option of being able to sleep at the lounge, utilizing a pay to use system. Great assortment of food and beverage and Service was on point . Plenty of options for seating plus there's an additional restaurant and bar upstairs that's exclusive to club members that you can pay for . read more
Decent airport lounge. The day I went it was a bit crowded, but I could find a nice place to sit. Alcoholic beverages are now only served at the bar.. the self-service is a thing of the past. Food was OK and somewhat institutional, but not terrible. read more
This KLM lounge is located near the transfer point for Terminal D and the other terminals, including the passport control area. Yelp reviews are very favorable at this lounge. However, a KLM pursor informed me I should be at the other lounge since this caters to more Europeans than people traveling to the States. It's spacious here, but some of the little kids run around disturbing weary travelers who are sleeping on the comfortable couches they have here. Food quality and beverages are decent, and bathrooms are clean. I will be leaving for the other lounge, but it is interesting that my boarding pass allowed me access here. read more
This lounge is CROWDED. There are a million people in here, so it's tough finding a seat, especially if you're looking for a table for dining. However, if you've got good timing and happen to find one, then you're all set. There are several small buffet counters with a rotating variety of dishes and snacks. On my recent visit, they had some pasta and vegetables. Of course, there is also a large selection of drinks from coffee and tea to booze. Workers are efficient and clean up tables quickly for the next guest. Agents are available around the entrance to answer questions about flights. I saw signs that there is are comfy chairs upstairs but I didn't want to give up my table. I'm sure it's quieter there as well. If I had a longer visit in the lounge, I would've made my way there. All in all, it beats sitting at the gate for an hour! read more

Whoa! This completely remodeled lounge is TDF! If you happen to be stuck in the airport, go or pay to visit. The food, juices, service and comfort are two thumbs up! This newly renovated lounge just opened in October 2019 - we were there during breakfast on October 27. This lounge is so much more spacious than the previous lounge - more room to spread out, a wide variety of places to sit, and larger pathways (this makes it so much better for not only the guests, but for the KLM staff). The food has stepped up as well - there are two large food an beverage areas on the main floor of the lounge; each offers similar items and some very different items. There is one that has a scrambled egg maker (looks like a bright yellow cappuccino machine!) and a staffer makes egg cups for each person. Many topping to choose from to further customize your eggs! Lots of fresh juices and yogurts, a hot bar (meats, potatoes and soup), and many more delicious items. Self-service drinks, along with a manned-coffee machine for special coffees and teas, and a full bar. Upstairs, there is another restaurant and bar - this is a la carte and there is an additional charge beyond your membership fee. Showers and sleeping cabins are also available, along with many charging stations and complimentary WiFi. Don't miss this gem! read more

(Visited in April 2021 so I'm sure things will have changed, but even under the circumstances of COVID, KLM has done a fantastic job with the Crown Lounge 52). HUGE, huge space. Cannot be understated. I can't envision many occasions during which you wouldn't be able to find a seat/space. On top of that, the lounge has a great variety of seating. If you want to eat, relax, lounge, plane watch, take some calls or get some privacy in a booth - it has it all. (Also this was without the upstairs/skydeck not even open due to COVID) Food was great. Nothing extravagant but a lot of options both preprepared as well as from chef stations. Some nice Dutch cuisine options as well as your typical lounge fare. The design of the lounge is unbelievable. Sleek and modern, it's an open floor-plan but the different types of spaces - ie: eating, working, relaxing - all flow together seamlessly. Beautiful colors and materials and nice homages to The Netherlands and the KLM Legacy throughout. They had some "niche" lounge amenities like a VR experience, meditation room, etc. but they were closed due to COVID. The Crown Lounge 52 is not just a good place to kill time on a layover, but so impressive a lounge it's worth an early arrival to experience. read more
Who doesn't love a good lounge. This KLM Crown Lounge is located in the international pier at Amsterdam airport, so if you're flying outside of the Schengen zone here you go. At 9:30 in the morning, a brief queue to check credentials and then inside. It is a very large lounge. Nearly all seats filled but I managed to find one and set my stuff down before heading over to grab a bite. Standard European breakfast with cold cuts and sliced cheese, some oatmeal, fresh bread, pastries, fruit, self-service liquor including spirits and wine. Reasonably well taken care of with a clean counter, plenty of flatware and lots of glasses. Coffee ready to roll too. They do not make flight announcements here, so watch your time. And remember that Amsterdam is UTC +1:00 which might be different than where you're connecting from. Oops. [Review 9925 overall, 1503 of 2018.] read more
Nice lounge with a large variety of foods and drinks. They have 2 large sections and they don't tell you that each section has different items so you have to venture off for yourself to discover it. The staff were so on the ball, there are like 5 people that are walking around checking on people non stop, cleaning plates, glasses, cutlery, and asking if anything else is needed? Fun place, it was free with the flight and not sure why there are so many Debbie Downers and Negative Nathans? LOL read more
