I had bought a wooden dining set from kloter farms and was completely satisfied. Based on that experience i bought 2 leather couches. Let me start by saying, the couches are for my wife and I, who are senior citizens. No kids jumping on them etc. in fact, one of the couches is barely used. At first, everything was fine, but after some time everything started to loosen up and wobble. Since the couches are warrantee, i called up kloter farms. They said they could send someone out, but only parts would be covered. I decided that this would not be worth the expense. Do i flipped the couch over. To my surprise i found loose lag bolts all over the place. In dome cases they were never installed at all. I just flipped the second barely used couch and tightened and installed bolts on that. It is ridiculous after spending north of 6000 on a set of couches that i had to finish the construction. I guess quality control is a thing of the past. read more

Today had another delivery from Kloter Farms. I wasn't sure how they would treat this second delivery only because, this was their second delivery within a week. To my surprise, I wasn't charged, not even a penny for delivery. The guys, Tim and Steve did an impossible task of bringing the desk upstairs on a curved staircase. They were very careful and I'm so happy with the workmanship, as I sit here writing my review from my NEW Desk. Just a big shout out, to everyone at the establishment. Some items are made in their own shop others are source right here in America from the Amish communities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The high quality fine dining, living room and bedroom furniture is, by in large, made by the Amish. What prompted our visit was an interest in all weather polyboard benches and perhaps chairs. They would have to be rugged; capable of standing up to New Englands harsh, snow storms, winds, rain and weather. I believe we may have found what we were looking for. During the milder spring, summer and Fall months their ice cream stand is open and always seems to be an attraction for both young and old. I've seen their commercials on TV for a long time. And since I'm in the market to upgrade my bedroom furniture, I figured now would be a good time to visit. My wife and I made the one hour drive looking forward to seeing some nice quality furniture. The bedroom furniture was in their KF West store, located about a quarter mile away from their main store. They had a large selection of furniture of many different styles. We browsed for an hour and we're not accosted by the sales staff, which I greatly appreciated. When we did have a question, the sales person was attentive and courteous. The quality of the furniture was very good- solid woods and unique hardware styles. Expensive, but that's what one would expect from this type of shoppe. All in all- we had a very productive trip and selected three pieces to upgrade our bedroom. Looking forward to having them in our house in 8-12 weeks (furniture is made to order). read more

This is the kind of place you could walk around for an entire day. All the pretty things great and small. Beautiful and functional items for inside your home or out. There's a wide range of prices, so you can find something for every budget. Expect to pay more for excellent quality, of course, but there are many sales and there is a "discount corner" that gets changed up. I used to be a regular visitor before Covid 19. Now I'm very limited because of my immune system issues and neurological syndrome. However, for all you lucky people who can shop, Kloter Farms plays by the safe rules for all. During the summer when CT's pandemic numbers were very low, my husband and I were driving by and it was a magic hour where there was nobody in the main building! We masked up and went in. Safety protocols were obviously being taken. I hadn't been in a store since March, so it felt weird but also good. Still, I knew I shouldn't push my luck. (I catch everything.) I saw four things I immediately "needed" and we paid and left. My shortest time ever in there, but I amhoping that we will someday be able to make a longer visit (next summer?). Anyway, for those who can shop, go and enjoy some time. I'm sure that if I needed to buy something else, Kloter Farms employees would work with me to where I could do so safely. For now, I will just enjoy my pretty things from Kloter at home. (Also, the shed we acquired when we bought a home in spring is from Kloter Farms, and it is super well built.) read more

Kloter Farms need to get their act together and must be watched very closely. We like the furniture but... We have purchased a total of 11 pieces, including mattress & box spring (5 pieces this time and 6 pieces on the first purchase) . Most recently we purchased a bedroom set, bed, dresser and night table. They delivered the incorrect footboard, so the brackets did not line up correctly with the rails and the bed could not be assembled. The following week, they sent out the "correct one" but it was not correct. It was not even the same style as the headboard and belonged to a completely different bed set. They finally brought out the correct one on the third visit. But then we noticed they sent the wrong mattress. The one they sent was a less expensive mattress and box spring than the one we purchased and paid for. It was $1,200 less expensive. They agreed it was the incorrect mattress and box spring and that they had ordered the wrong ones. They would have made their normal profit plus an additional $1,200 on us for the mattress set and we would have ended up with the incorrect & less expensive ones had my wife not caught their error. Kloter Farms took advantage of my wife's good nature when they supposedly resolved the issues. On our first purchase, we purchased 6 pieces of furniture for our family room. 3 of the 6 pieces had to be returned. One for the finish bubbling on the recliner chair arms(and they delivered it to us anyway). The Entertainment Center door did not close properly as it was cut incorrectly and could not be fixed by their repairman and the Corner TV Console unit was the wrong item. They eventually replaced them all but when the correct Corner TV Console arrived it had an 8-inch dent across the top from someone putting other heavy furniture on top of it and sliding it across. To their credit, Kloter farms worked at fixing all those issues. The furniture looks nice, but it was frustrating dealing with them and correcting all of their mistakes. This tells me that they either lack quality control or they try to slip the imperfections past their customers or perhaps both. After all of this we have decided to no longer trust them or make any future purchases from them. We are purchasing a 12 by 20 shed but will not purchase it from Kloter Farms after these issues. To be clear, Kloter Farms does not make any of the products they sell. They are just a storefront. read more

My husband and I took the travel journey of one and a half hours to Kloter Farms to get help designing and ordering our new shed. We were greeted promptly and directed to sit with a gentleman who told us his name using the Kloter name for his last name. As a business owner ourselves we felt even more assured that we were working with an owner/family member. We explained the size we wanted,6x10 that was to be built custom on site. The shed was to match our house on Candlewood lake .Mr. Kloter explained in tremendous detail all the additional features that were available to us and used a wonderful computer program to visually show us what our new shed would actually look like.Mr. Kloter pulled up our address in New Fairfield Ct. and using google maps was able to see the staircase going down to our patio on Candlewood Lake, were the shed was to be placed.We were told that it would have to be built onsite, of which we agreed to. At NO point did he say that this placement area was going to be a problem. We were told that delivery was priced per mile, of which we agreed to. We produced our credit card, gave a deposit and was ecstatic that we had found this incredible professional company. The complete purchase price for our custom built on site shed was $8000.00 A delivery date in 6 weeks was given to us. A few weeks passed and the day had arrived for the delivery. My husband took the day off from our business to be there. The delivery guys showed up on time and quickly inspected the area where the shed was to be built and placed. My husband was told immediately that there was NO way this shed was going to be able to be taken down the staircase. The delivery driver actually laughed in his face. We tried EVERY possible solution, even offering to get many strong individuals to get it to where it had to go and Kloter would just have to piece it together.We are still trying to figure out what the "build on site costs were for if they wouldn't build it onsite!!!!!!!!!!! The driver informed my husband that he wasn't getting paid to stand there and waste his time as we continued to call Kloters for help and advise.The owner just wanted to give us our money back as fast as he could, and would not listen or offer any help. BUYER BEWARE that Kloters jobs this installation to an outside company and they could care less if we were upset or not. The instillation company has absolutely no concern for how it represents this company and the owner of Kloters has forgotten about the customer.... Without the customer you don't have a business. Sometimes you can get to BIG. One star given, because zero stars isn't an option. read more

I stopped by Kloter Farms today for a holiday visit and the name of the store doesn't really tell the whole story! While they did start their business selling horse harnesses and sheds, the place also sells a huge assortment of high quality country furniture, home decor items, candles, rocking chairs and of course, garages and sheds. Very friendly and pleasant staff, they were having a holiday celebration today complete with complimentary warm and delicious apple crisp and free hay rides! Two beautiful draft horses were pulling guests around the block, very cool. A wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the winter weather! Stop on by if you've got a love of country furniture and decor or just if you'd like to browse around a bit. Kloter Farms is a very, interesting store for the locals. I had originally intended to have a one-car detached garage constructed on-site by a builder. The highly regarded builder that I spoke with basically talked me out of using him, and into a Kloter Farms garage. He said, "I'm not one to turn down work but... Their buildings are really nice." Because I trust his judgement, I drove out to Ellington to look at their selection, and I am so glad I did. I wish I could give them six stars. Not only is my new garage extremely well-built, but every single person I met with was friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I worked with two different salesmen. Neither of them tried to up-sell me on anything; they were patient and helpful. The delivery date was settled and they were right on time. The delivery was seamless. They were able to order siding that matched my house, and the price for doing so was extremely fair. When I was in the store picking out the features for my garage, after I finished and was paying the check, the sales rep mentioned that he is always impressed when "wives" come in and make the decisions. Now... He meant it as a compliment. And I can't really get upset because, well, I'm a housewife and I was, in fact, in there spending my husband's hard-earned money. But I definitely texted all my feminist friends to say "You won't believe what someone just said to me!!" I'm sure it popped out of his mouth without too much planning, but if I had been a crusading womenist, he really could have lost the sale. You won't find cows & chicken at Kloter Farms....but wat you will find is Handmade furniture, sheds, kids play sets & garages. We stopped by kloter farms today to get inspirations for our new house. I'm so tired of seeing ikea/ compressed wood furniture(that lack quality) everywhere...to see real quality hardwood furniture at kloter farms was a visual treat... They have such cute lil knick-knacks that you won't find in their catalog..... lots of local CT signage (rare finds). On Saturday's they have the Kloter Farms Express train that drives you around the property. They even have a cute lil icecream nd snack shop, lucky for us today was their free icecream sundae day. 5/17/2021 We purchased a 12x22 T111 Garage from Kloter Farms 14 years ago. We stopped at several other places before Kloter Farms and decided to purchase from them because the salesman told us They stand behind their work because only the best materials (ie. the Dura Temp T111 Siding, Perma Trim Corners, & Trim etc) were used and that they used Amish builders for their quality workmanship. It was built to outlast anyone else & because of the Quality of the materials used if repairs were needed they were a phone call away. We have had to call them to make repairs and each time they sent someone out to do the repair right away. This year we had to call them because on one of the the barn doors the bottom of the Dura Temp T111 had disintegrated and the trim fell off. I called and spoke to Don. He asked that I send pictures, which I did. He said that he would quote a price to replace the door, and then said that we should replace both doors at a cost of $460 plus $150 labor. I was shocked. He never said that he would send someone out to take a look to see if it was a defect in the material. It is only the bottom maybe 6" of the door. There is nothing wrong with the other door and nothing else wrong with any other panels of the Dura Temp T111 siding on the rest of the garage. It would seem to me that there is a defect of some kind in the material used for this door. It makes no sense that its the only part that is damaged. I don't feel like the company is standing behind their product or reaching out to maintain Customer service. I would appreciate a response from Peter Welti (sorry if I spelled that wrong) . Made our first visit to Kloter Farm this week, but certainly not my last. We ordered 4 Adirondack chairs and 2 tables. Original delivery estimate was 7-10 days. Much to my surprise they called 3 days later and made the delivery on Thursday after Tropical storm Isaias has come through Connecticut. They arrived within the delivery window I was given. I am absolutely thrilled with the chairs. The quality is obvious from the minute you sit down. Thank you to TJ our sales rep and the two delivery drivers. I ordered 2 sheds, 1 for myself and 1 for my son. The quality of both are outstanding. We bought 2 display models. We had to wait a couple months for delivery. Amazingly delivery was scheduled on the day promised. Both sheds came on the same trailer. Did I mention how amazing their trailer is. The driver Dan was patient and very skilled. I did call them back as my shed looked crooked. Two days after I called, Dan showed up and leveled it. He explained site leveling was not included unless requested and it is a separate charge. He was very polite and leveled the shed as best he could. I would recommend having Kloter prepare your site. This outfit knows their business. If I live long enough to purchase another shed I will certainly drive to Ellington again, confident of the value I will receive. read more

Kloter Farms is great. Over the years we've bought a lot of stuff here. A shed, a bedroom set, lamp, dining room set and more. Most of the furniture is made domestically, I think in Pennsylvania. So yes it's a bit expensive compared to the other places that sell cheap Chinese made furniture. But you usually have a high degree of customization available in terms of type of wood, finish, hardware, color, etc. The downside of custom furniture is that it takes a while from the time you place the order to the time it comes in. The piece we bought this weekend will take 8-12 weeks, for example. But the people are awesome. I don't believe they are paid on commission so they spend their time and effort trying to make customers happy. They sell all kinds of furniture as well as outdoor items like sheds, gazebos and kids play sets. Also pictures and a variety of country-ish knickknacks that seem to appeal to women for some reason or other. It's located kind of in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth the trip. People will says it's expensive and it is, but I chalk it up to sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

Their sheds look good when they are new and advertise 25 year Asphalt shingles but the shed I have,the rain is leaking through the shingles after 15 years. If you are not the original owner the sale is void. I don't care who owns the shed, a 25 year shingle should last 25 years not 15.They did not want to budge on their policy. read more

I went to Kloter Farms to see the shed construction in person before purchasing. The shed uses real plywood, pressure treated floor supports and real 2 by 4 wall studs. The wall studs and the roof joists were 16 inches on center which are the best in terms of spread. The shed had vinyl siding, a shingle roof, shutters, the larger windows and a special door on one side with glass and a rounded top. The end of the shed had a double door with a ramp. We picked the next installation date that was approximately 6 weeks from purchase. My part of the shed was to measure the distance from the property line that I wanted to place the shed and stake out the corners and attached string to each corner post. I also got the permit for the town which told me what the variances were from the property line. Kloter farm guys that install the foundations called to make an appointment. They showed up on time and in about 45 minutes had the dirt leveled, packed, and spread out the gravel. They checked the level and were all done. Really quick and professional. A week later, one guy came with a truck and a trailer with the shed on it. The trailer could adjust the shed in both directions to get it lined up with the gravel foundation as much as possible before placing it down. the guy was an expert at his job and placed the shed down exactly where I wanted it, straight and level. He then washed the windows, attached the ramp, and then adjusted the doors to close correctly. Overall a darn good experience except for the hit in the pocketbook. The sheds are definitely expensive, but are hand made and made really well. read more

4 stars. came here for couch shopping, took the family. for them, tons to do, tractor rides, pop corn, free hot dogs and the coup de gracie, the playground equipment. if you paid 2,000+ for one of these things youll find your kids wont use them in your yard, but here, they love em. as for the couches? pretty good selection, very comfy, prices...well time will tell. we looked at another place too, but really, if its going to tolerate 3 kids and 20 years, i guess price can be balanced out a bit longer. worth the visit, go on free food day! read more

I had been researching high quality pergolas for some time when I found that Kloter Farms carried the Artisan Pergolas that I wanted. Delivery and installation was yesterday on time and as expected. The crew led by Matt was nothing short of perfect. Quality guys, neat, respectful and professional. They were all business when they started early in the morning. Bought a shed in November and after a couple delivery delays due to bad weather, it arrived. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the shed and the crew that prepared the area and the delivery guys. After a couple weeks the doors went out of alignment. Called Kloter and within a few days a technician came out to fix the problem. He reminded me that the shed has a 10-year guarantee so if anything goes wrong, just give them a call and they will fix it. It doesn't get much better than that. read more

People , do your research ! The prices they charge are ridiculously high. A 12x20 that they charge over $5000 dollars for can be built for under $1500 in materials. I speak from experience , I built a 12x20 using better materials than they use for under $2000. To order a shed from them with the upgrades I used it would have cost me over $6000. Call around and ask a local carpenter what it would cost to build one on site and I guarantee it will be cheaper and of higher quality. read more
