We had Vivian photograph our studio maternity and newborn photoshoot. She really is a wizard with the photos she captures. What we liked best about her was how patient and communicative she was leading up to photo day and during the shoot itself. She teaches you how to pose if you need guidance and shares tips for someone who is generally camera shy. We didn't feel pressured or uncomfortable and she handled a 10 day old newborn with ease, allowing us time to feed or pump. She maintained a clean and professional environment, sanitizing regularly and wore a mask the entire duration. You're also able to utilize some of the dresses or props she has for your photos. At the end of the session you'll get to select your photos for edit and she really listens and reconfirms with you the editing you'd like done. **Long headshot review -- TL;DR: Vivian is a skilled and thoughtful photographer, would recommend!** I needed a headshot for work, and was lucky to have found Vivian. She responded within 30 minutes of my Yelp message and we quickly got the session booked! Vivian's home studio was immaculate. I requested COVID accommodations and she really delivered. She let me know she always wears a mask and sanitizes her hands for her sessions since she works with newborns. She also had an air purifier running in the studio, and at my request opened the windows for additional ventilation. It didn't even get cold because she had placed a space heater near me, which was very considerate! Vivian was really thoughtful and attentive throughout the session. My blazer had gotten wrinkled, so she brought out a steamer and quickly got it photo-ready! She helped with smoothing out my hair/clothing and took multiple shots until I was satisfied with how I looked. She could also tell when I was forcing my smile (I hadn't had my photo taken professionally in a long time!) and helped bring out a genuine smile, which was apparent in the final product. The stated turnaround time on the retouched photos was 2 weeks, but I received them well ahead of schedule. I love the headshots! The retouches were polished yet natural. Vivian was attentive to the edits I requested (e.g. the red marks on my nose bridge from glasses) and didn't edit more than necessary so it still looked like my own skin. Everything about working with Vivian was exceptional, from her communication, to the care she takes working with clients, to the actual product. Amazing work by Vivian, professional and thoughtful, a must for any OCD mum!!! Vivian did both our new born session (long overdue review!) and the 1 year session; all I can say is look no further you can't go wrong with her. Vivian shared all detailed information ahead so as long as you follow the instructions and response correspondingly (and arrive on time) then you are guaranteed with great photos. Our new born session was amazing, I was hesitated to drive to her studio within the same new born week but it turned out to be a good decision! Vivian keeps her studio warm at 80 degree throughout the session and she calmed our new born with amazing skills. It was during summer time but I would say it is a high risk if baby were naked for prolong time in our own living room. I'm so glad we picked Vivian for new born session. A year later new mum is still struggling around schedule and it was a shock for me to suddenly realize I forgot to schedule 1 year session for the precious moments (as baby start walking and facial look is changing daily!) Vivian worked with me to fit into her schedule and got all details lined up within the week! She even called me to walk thru all arrangement details and helped me on clothing choices. We had a great time in her studio and Filoli Garden -- we ended up with too many photos to choose from -- to be fair it is a great problem to have!!! Unlike most of her customers, I needed a "head shot" for work. I am glad I used her. My wife had used Vivian a few years ago for some professional photos and I really liked the result. So I did not have to think hard about who I should use for this. Setting up an appointment was easy and Vivian was right on time. I think we finished the shoot in about 20-30 min, enough time to try a few different locations to get some variety. In full disclosure I am not one who likes to get his picture taken. I appreciated that Vivian was able to put me at ease very easily and we were able to get this done pretty quickly. And I really like the result. Yes, I would have preferred her to make me look more like Brad Pitt, but she is not a miracle worker! Plus Vivian is a really nice person, so you will enjoy working with her. read more

There is a reason Vivian gets so many rave reviews. We booked Vivian for a newborn session but due to factors outside of Vivian's control we had to rebook the session twice. Vivian was more than professional at handling this inconvenience and offered to reimburse clothing that children had grown out of and rush the processing of 1-2 photos. She, in fact, went beyond this offer doing 120% of what was initially proposed. Photo wise Vivian has a keen eye for poses, is able to get shy children to come out of their shells, and is skilled with photoshop (generally I embrace imperfections but baby acne is definitely something I'd rather my kids not have to contend with when they have these photos later in their lives). I chose Vivian initially as many photographers embrace a "photojournalistic" approach and say act natural. But both my husband and I need some help as our "natural" poses are not quite so much poses that we want memorialized in photos. Vivian also has great props and ideas for shots. A few things for those considering to book: 1) you don't get all the photos she takes (this is probably a good thing as the last photo session we had we got about a billion photos but I really just love about 10-15 of them) 2) you get jpegs as the final delivery and not raw files. I got both last photo session but again I don't know that I really use the raw files much. I don't really have time to edit them. If you're a budding photoshop specialist this may not be a good fit for you. Overall Vivian is a pleasure to work with and we are hoping to work with her again in the future! read more

Vivian is outstanding at her job. We met Vivian in July 2023 for our maternity photoshoot. She was very detail oriented weeks prior to the shoot and helped us find the best location. We had the greatest baby photography sessions ever!!!! First off, I have to rave about the communication from the beginning. Once I sent out a request via Yelp, Vivian responded and provided us with all the details that included packages and prices as well as additional details that were extremely helpful. Once our baby was born, Vivian reached out to us via email about setting up a date for the photo session. Glad she did this since we had our hands full with our newborn and toddler. She provided us with her portfolio and asked us to pick some photos that we were interested in. Vivian provided all necessary details about the day of- including location, time frame, and COVID safety. Her home studio was very easy to get to and was absolutely beautiful. The most wonderful photo shoot session I have been too! I was nervous about taking pictures of my 6 month old baby because she can be fussy. However, Vivian was able to make her laugh and we got some really good photos. I absolutely love her work. She's very particular and all the pictures look like it came out of a Janie and Jack magazine. I love that she even has clothes for you to try on at the photoshoot.
