I took the car straight to an independant garage who gave it a diagnostic test. The test uncovered the fact that there were many major parts of the engine 'missing'. These were parts that would have to have been removed by a mechanic, which if faulty, would stop the engine from running, BUT if removed the car will operate for a few months before finaly causing extensive problems. The price to replace the parts inc labour would have cost in xs of £2500. When i took the car back to the so called 'dealers', he told me 'we dont do refunds' and i was 'over the 30day warrenty'. After i educated this cowboy of my rights and the fact i had contacted the office of fair trading, he quickly gave me my money back to get me out of his way!!! 1 month later, the car is back on the forcourt at the same price, I would wager my mortgage that the repairs havnt been done! I knew I would have to travel a fair distance to view/test drive this car, so I phoned first and spoke to Peter. I was assured of the condition, and general details of the car to such an extent, that I instantly felt very confident, and felt I was genuinely dealing with a very honest and trustworthy company. I had to phone back a few times over the next few days to arrange when I would be able to come, and also to arrange insurance and road tax. This was when I first spoke to Raymond, and I have to say, again I came off the phone, satisfied and confident that the car would be everything I was told it would be. I phoned yet again, a day before I left to confirm everything was ok, and also to get directions from the main Train Station in Edinburgh. I was instantly told by Raymond, to phone him when I got to the station and he would come and pick me up. This, I thought was an extremely kind gesture, considering the garage is a good 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre. When I arrived at the garage, I found the car to be exactly as advertised, and exactly as described by both Raymond and Peter. We took it out for a good test drive, and along the way had a good chat and laugh with Raymond. Once we arrived back at the garage, I was smitten and didn't need any further convincing. At this point I met Peter and found him to be as friendly and welcoming as Raymond. Along with an already very good price for a very good car, PHJ also covered the cost of my first year's road tax, along with a £25 top up of fuel. Something I certainly didn't expect! All in all a very pleasant experience, and would highly recommend both the high standard of cars, and also the high standard of customer care that I received. I have been trying to contact them since the 10/3/18 to report some problems I am experiencing. They hang up on me & don't return any calls when I leave messages. They also refuse to acknowledge or respond to emails. I now realise they have done this a lot to other customer's. After a bit of investigation on my part the warranty they claim to offer with "Warranty Wise" which you can clearly see advertised on all their current cars is a complete LIE. I have personally spoken to warranty wise and GLASGOW TRADE SALES are not an approved dealer of warranty wise and haven't been for 5/6 months now. They are liars and cheats please do not buy a car from them it's not worth the risk. Check out the reviews on Google and Auto Trader I wish I had before buying my car. I guess their 30 day warranty is worth about as much as their word. I have since had the car independently checked and the garage I use and trust are adamant the car should never have passed an not due to the brakes being defective among other issues. GTS never even bothered to fix the non existent handbrake despite falsely claiming too. Glasgow Trade sales will take your money then stick their fingers up at laughing you as you drive away. The matter is now in the hands of trading standards, VOSA and the police for the dodgy mot issued. Glasgow trade sales have f####d with the wrong guy this time. See you soon Dan!!!
