During are house renovation we could have done are construction without Knapp Schlappi. The wood is easy to get. And I love how they help you load the wood into your car when you pull up. Also love the selection of the garden side and the construction side. And I love the prices on the wood and other materials they are really affordable. read more

Carey's was closed unfortunately so I made the mistake if giving this place another shot. Instant regret. Historically marked up prices. Lumber selection sucks. With exception to the occasional friendly cash out girl, the rest of the staff always have a condescending attitude (especially the lumber counter) and get annoyed when asked for help. Someone should remind them that they work at a mom & pop hardware store for a living, not a 5-star resort in Las Vegas. Save yourself the hassle and shop at Carey's Lumber or just make the trip to Lowes or Home Depot. Avoid this place. read more

Interesting assortment of goods. Friendly young lady in garden indicated she was the daughter of the owner. We left due to the fact that the employees were either not wearing masks (paint counter) or were wearing them improperly (front cashiers). read more

Prices are really high. Depends who you are in the community on how they will treat you, so beware if you're not one of them or their family or friends. Business tactics are not very kosher. Many better local hardware stores in area. One time the delivery guy came with tobacco chew in their mouth and spit the tobacco as they are talking with you....very disgusting and unprofessional. read more

Absolutely the place to go for all of your limber and home improvement needs.

Always liked this business but have visited twice during Covid-19 & some staff and customers are not wearing masks. Asked & was told signs on doors but response was half hearted. I won't be going back. 4/12/21. Ed S. read more

A great all around hardware store in Penn Yan NY. No Home Depots around here. They are very knowledgeable and their prices are good. If they dont have what you need they will let you know who does. read more
