When I set out on this organizing journey I was looking for someone with an awareness of the psychological ramifications so I got a referral from my kids' therapy center. I have not been disappointed. Jacqui has exceeded my wishes. There is no way I could have gotten through my move without Jacqui. Our relationship began when I called her in to help me declutter my home. I have three kids and a busy life so we lived with a mess for years. First of all I loved her the minute I met her and she got along with all my kids. She created systems for the kids' rooms and worked with them directly so they could be involved in the process of sifting, throwing and keeping. In the midst of this I suddenly changed homes and that's when it got serious and Jacqui saved my life. This meant going through EVERYTHING- a full basement, garage, work space. Years of my life. Jacqui approached the process with the utmost perfect balance of sensitivity and nudging me to let go of what was ready to go. (it was a lot). I also really appreciated Jacqui's sensitivity to the feelings of my children at such a big transition. I would kind of expect an organizer to just dump things out, but Jacqui really took the time to go through every piece and what was amazing is her uncanny sense of what is important or cool and could stay, and then what just has an old stale energy and should go. On top of all this, we spent a lot of time laughing. I was lucky enough to have several weeks to make the transition from one home to another so we were able to take chunks of time to systematically do the work as opposed to being rushed. I could also trust Jacqui and her amazing assistant Felipe to take care of things that did not require my involvement so I could get away from the process, and get things done like taking care of the kids and my own work. My HERO(ine)!!! Jacqui rescued me from my personal hoarding nightmare. I had shelves and closets stuffed to overflowing and I would look at the situation and just feel too overwhelmed to do anything about it. I enlisted the services of Get It Moving after 5 years (REALLY!!!) of putting "organize and declutter my home" on my Annual Goals list. Over these years I had asked many of my friends to come over and help to no avail; nobody really wants to help do that when it comes down to it. In short sessions she tackled closets and cabinets with me one at a time and really set me straight and showed me a different way to store my things while simultaneously telling me the truth about things I had no business hanging on to.
