I love getting a good massage, but I can't stand how some spas make changing in a locker room and waiting around in a robe a part of the experience. That's not how it's done here. When you arrive, you're taken to a private room almost immediately. Changing before and after your service happens in private, in the same room as the service. Every appointment I have had was on time and I left feeling sufficiently relaxed. I've had a massage from about four of the technicians here and all have been very effective. Vanessa has to be my favorite as she gives a great service and provides aftercare advice that is similar to what my physical therapist has told me. Just had a massage with William. I've had massages all over the place throughout Detroit, Miami, Seattle, LA, Puerto Rico and this is in my top massages for sure. I also really appreciated that he gave me almost the full time even though the massage didn't start on time bc I got there right when the massage started (as you know it takes some time to get called, paper work, undressed etc). He checked in with me throughout and increased pressure as I asked. The place is clean and comfortable. When trying to book my appointment on Sunday, the person taking my appointment switched it 3 times. I already had a worried feeling. Now I was completely cancelled the night before with only options to call off work and come very early in the day or come back in the very late evening. I requested a full refund. For what was supposed to be a relaxing experience has turned into a stressful experience. Also, upon looking, I see multiple reviews regarding scheduling issues. No attempt or care to rectify my inconvenience, but a "sorry, you have to reschedule". I was able to book with a massage Green Spa in Woodhaven. Very clean establishment. I had a massage by Vanessa and it was amazing! Not only did I receive a massage but she also stretched out the tight areas in my neck, legs, and hips. She also showed me stretches at home that can elevate the tension in my neck. During my massage, Vanessa also used hot towels which was a pleasant surprise. I been here multiple times, before pregnant, while being pregnant, and after. Every time my body has been in a different stages and every time they have all make me feel amazing in every way. From the warm welcoming from the front desk to the amazing rooms where you can feel extreme peace. I have had 3 different people and they are all very good, you tell them what you need and how are you feeling and they listen to you and your needs. This was one of those places where I tried it out years ago and kept telling myself I would go back once I had the time / extra cash / was back in town / etc. I'm sure glad I did come back because it was as enjoyable as I remembered. I had an AMAZING experience at Kneaded Relief! The main area is so welcoming and calms you. The receptionist was very nice! Thank you! I came in with muscle spasm in my upper back near my shoulder blade. I had been to the Dr., Chiropractor and then BACK to the Dr. I got SOME relief, but the pain was still there. When I got to Kneaded and explained to Emily (who is fantastic, BTW), she listened to what I was experiencing. She started my massage and her pressure was AMAZING! She made sure that it was a good pressure for me and concentrated on the EXACT spot that had the issue! I was sore later in the evening; (to be expected for a muscle spasm), but when I woke up the next morning... WOW!! Not 100% yet, but a remarkable difference! This is my go to spot for a great massage! On previous visits therapists wore masks. Yesterday I had to request that my therapist wear one. They have air filtering units in the rooms (which is great!) but that is not enough for me. Don't be afraid to protect yourself by asking for masks to be worn. Great massage. Really nice environment. Ok I'm 6'5" and around 275 lbs and pour concrete for a living. Amber had no problem getting out the knots, loosening the tight areas, and finding area that need attention that I didn't even know about. She definitely knows her stuff, and had the strength to work on us us XXL guys. I received the "Day of Beauty" package for a birthday gift. I have had many massages, both good and bad, by students, pros, and friends. Charity made the top 3 of all my experiences! Included in the package I chose: 60 min. massage w/ aroma therapy, 30 min sugar scrub, 30 min facial, and 30 min. sauna. Most products used are organic. I felt incredible when I left! Charity was very kind and attentive to areas that needed special attention. My skin was so soft when I left. I'd go into greater detail here, but I don't want to ruin it for you :-) I have to say that the sauna was very nice as well. I could have easily sat in it all nigtht. It was dark in the sauna room (which has a mounted stereo inside), so I turned out the lights and listened to music in the dark heat. AAAAHHHHHH!!!! Coming from a night owl who misses a home in the desert, that was very nice indeed! I will be returning. Count on it. Reasonable prices and great people. My 90 minute hot stone massage was AMAZING! Maria did such a great job with my shoulders, my husband actually called them "squishy" because they were so much more relaxed than before I went. I know technically they only open until 7:30, but Maria stayed late for my 90 minute appointment that started at 6:30 pm, which is perfect for someone like me that works almost an hour north of Southgate. KR isn't very big, but it's very cozy and very relaxing, which was exactly what I needed after a stressful summer at work. If I could afford to, I'm come at least once a month. We ran into a bit of a snafu with my gift card, but they figured it out. The extra $$ (not very much) that I had to put in to make it a 90 minute massage was worth every penny. Before coming, they ask you to tell them which areas to focus on/avoid/your health issues, etc. My masseuse, Charity, was really friendly and knew exactly where in my neck I needed the massage most, as well as how much pressure to use. So I use to get massages all the time And it seemed like I always got not so great of a massage and always found myself leaving dissatisfied.. Not today! This is the first time here and I had Emily. She was great! I'm a bartender and I'm always on my feet and hands down was the best foot massage I've ever gotten. And she really worked out kinks in my neck and shoulders. The sheets could have been softer My bedwarmer wasn't on so I kinda got cold towards the end And the top blanket was only a sheet... Wasn't the coziest. I've been going to Knead Relief Massage (now Kneaded Relief Wellness Spa) for over three years now. With the location move just up the block to their own building it made for wonderful atmosphere enhancement. Just walking in you feel relax. What lead me to KR in the first place was their end of the year special that I take advantage of each year - buy 3 get one free massage special. I have thoroughly enjoyed a recent addition to their services; infrared sauna treatment and jet steam shower. I wasn't sure about the shower at first but after the time spent in the sauna it was great! The satisfaction and service I have received over the past few years has been wonderful. If you are looking to treat yourself to a little rest and relaxation this is the place! I have been coming here for a couple years now and I LOVE this place. I see Melissa. She gives the perfect massage. Her deep tissue work is perfect, if thats not your thing she always checks to see how the pressure is for you without being annoying about it. She does a thorough consultation with me, EVERY TIME. I have a bad ankle and she always remembers and makes it feel better. I recommended Melissa to a friend who has seen most everyone there, she prefers Melissa or Alyssa I believe. They let me try out the sauna room/steam shower with a 1/2 off coupon my first visit. I book it every time and it really adds to my spa experience and it loosens up my muscles. They always make sure you have a lot of water. The hot stone massage is cool if thats what you're into, but I prefer a deep tissue. I went somewhere else and the only thing I liked about the massage were these stretches she did. When I told Melissa about it she took the time to look into it a little more and does it everytime Seriously add on the steam shower/sauna room you won't be disappointed. (heads up if you are in the first room you can sometimes hear people in the reception area but the staff always keeps it relaxing and professional and the noise to a minimum.) Go here. See Melissa.
