I assumed one dentist is listed and that Amin Jaffer DDS would be the dentist to see me, but no, not the case. Aisha Abdul-Latif, DDS was the dentist that serviced me. After looking at my teeth "DR A. as she called herself" stated she could fill my teeth, she came back to the room with what looked like silly putty and asked me to open my mouth. No numbing of the mouth, no cleaning the area of the teeth to be filled. Dr. A. stated numbing not necessary. The silly putty fillings were put in in less than 3 minutes and that was that. The silly putty(very very expensive fillings) fell out within days. No response or resolution to this terrible service (did I say expensive). Extremely disappointed.

My time with Dr. Vyas was always one on one, unlike other P/Ts, who are sometimes working with 2 patients at a time. Dr. Vyas is always sensitive to where I am in my healing process, asks questions and always explaining why we are doing particular exercises, and how to do them correctly. He knows when to push and when to draw back. He also is keenly aware of how certain muscles and nerves affect the different parts of the body. He seems to take a very holistic approach to his work. He couldn't locate a serious spinal disorder on my MRI (two doctors later did the same month) and he was not familiar with how to non-invasively treat a condition that should be in his wheelhouse. He kept telling me he "couldn't help me." I've never had a doctor give up so quickly on me during an appointment. He kept trying to slowly back out of the room. He also argued with me that epidural steroid injections are safe, despite the fact I was seeing him for a spinal injury caused by an epidural. His advice was to check my vitamin d levels... The front desk check-in was also a clunky experience. There were also no nurses and nobody taking notes about me.

I have been a patient here during two pretty difficult (physically and emotionally) medical situations. Dr. Matoian and Melissa are truly wonderful health providers who want to provide a correct diagnosis, share with you any information you need, listen to your concerns, and answer your questions. They are so, so patient when I ask a million questions as my academic brain is bound to do, and they can break down medical jargon to the simplest of terms and draw diagrams to help you understand exactly what is going on. The bedside manner provided by these two is extraordinary. I am totally confident that I am in good hands with this team. On top of the wonderful providers, the other people in the office are phenomenal. The medical assistant I've seen every time, Vanessa, puts a smile on my face even during the most difficult times. Glenna, the nurse available by phone, is wonderful and quick to return phone calls. Shelly and the rest of the administrative staff are friendly and responsive and never grumpy if I ask difficult questions about scheduling. I have never been so pleased with a physician's office in my life! Dr. Matoian is on staff at Beaumont and works in partnership with six other doctors -- two of which I have spoken with on the phone during nights and weekends, and they were quick to call back and very helpful. Melissa has done work in high-risk pregnancy, too. If I didn't convince you that this is the greatest OB/GYN office of all time, you must have a phenomenal doctor already. I'd ask you to share who it is, but no thanks, I'm convinced mine is the best.
