I feel sorry if someone had a bad experience with Dr. Ruskin and/or his staff, but it is what it is. I am what you may call a worrier, especially when it comes to anything that has to do with sedatives, anesthesia, and cutting body parts open. That being said, I searched high and low for a surgeon when my wisdom teeth were finally putting me in enough pain for me to acknowledge them. After for searching for a month (yes, I'm crazy), I did come across Dr. William Ruskin on a website called usatopdentists.com. Since he is in my area, I googled his name to see if I could confirm that he is worthy of such a title. I came across these reviews and was honestly put off. I met a couple surgeons who not only didn't care for my business, but really didn't seem capable of extracting my teeth. I had two impacted teeth, which needed to be taken out by an oral surgeon, especially because of their close proximity to my nerves. After asking around, it seemed ironic that 2 people who have no relation to each other referred me to Dr. William Ruskin. I decided I had nothing to lose by giving him a shot. Guys, I am young and look even younger than I actually am, so I don't get the best service wherever I go, because you know, people don't take me as serious. Little do they know how vital good customer service is to me. Having said that, I can't express to you how amazing everyone at this office was--especially the receptionist, Renee. She was AWESOME. Not only were they all so courtious, kind and helpful, but they were pretty quick and seemed to know what they were doing. Dr. Ruskin was so absolutely kind, patient and caring that I immediately felt comfortable with him putting me to sleep and taking all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, even with the possible risk of nerve damage. He warned me of it, which I respect. My surgery went perfectly, and I had no complications with healing. I did have dry socket on one side, but that is my own fault for dislodging the clot and was manageable with advil. I went in for my followup the next week, and he said everything looked good. After that, I was on my merry way out. I seriously could not have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a surgeon who knows what he's doing and is skilled and kind, at least consult with him. You will not regret it.

Update: 2/6/24 - The funny thing about those Invisalign products, is they sure can leave…read moresignificant damage and today I learned how. I couldn't figure out why I had so much pain in one particular tooth for so long, it was from the retainers that displaced my teeth which left me irritating the nerve. Dr. Mathew Savaya was the one who took the time to explain this entire process to me, we were able to avoid a root canal and take a conservative approach easing the pain. Within minutes I felt relief. I wish they had taken my insurance, nonetheless, it was worth every penny. I'll be back! On a referral from a friend, I rushed to this office for a loose filling that needed immediate care. I was treated with the utmost kindness, my issues were addressed efficiently and thoroughly.

I did indeed ponder not fixing it, even thinking of an elaborate back story involving me winning in a fight against some tough bikers, but eventually settled on getting it fixed. The office is lovely and all the staff are warm and friendly. I was amazed of not only how quickly my chip tooth was fixed, but I had no discomfort in the process. My tooth looks like I never even chipped it! Dr. Katranji is very nice, knows her stuff, and you almost feel like she has been treating you for years the first time you meet her. I ran out of there to eastbrooke dental in Novi, MI and they confirmed that Dr gagoh lied, I didn't need a root canal in fact a filing probably would have corrected the problem and that Dr gagoh put on a thin misshapen temporary. Dr gagoh didn't sound professional or knowledgeable. My instincts told me to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. AVOID LATHRUP FAMILY DENTISTRY AT ALL COSTS YOU WILL PAY FOR IT.

I sometimes forget about my regular cleanings, they have a postcard system where you fill it out and they mail it to you as a reminder to schedule your cleaning appointment. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed here as well. I chose to be numbed only but they can put you under. They were understanding that I could only afford to do one wisdom tooth at first because I didn't have great insurance. Then I had three done, and was miserable... But they helped me through the pain and the dry socket. Now I'm finally to the point where I can do invisilign and I'm so excited to have straight teeth.
