We were looking for a good Mom and Pop place to eat when we happened by Knepps. We decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the most delicious looking cinnamon buns I've ever laid my eyes on. I somehow managed to walk past the treats which were temping me and we sat ourselves at a table. The waitress promptly came over and took our drink order. As she was gathering our drinks we made our way to the bar. Tons of fresh vegetables, salad, chicken, catfish. We loaded our plates and chowed down. The food was delicious!! The vegetables were perfectly seasoned, not loaded down with fat or butter. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. And for dessert we had the blackberry pie which was stellar. I would highly recommend this place. Food, service, and cleanliness were all on point!

Everything here is delicious and the portions are huge. Some of my favorites are the salad bar and glens fish!!

Self serve - walk up ordering then take-out or sit to eat. Food was good. Amish products grocery store.

I reserved the Community Building at East Side Park for our family reunion for several reasons…read more The location is nice - in lovely East Side Park; the space is air conditioned, which was great as the average Labor Day Weekend temperatures for the area are over 80 degrees and it was 86 this weekend; there are ample bathroom facilities just for use by our group; it is handicap friendly; it has a amazing full chef kitchen stocked with all the hardware we needed. We probably had about 60 to 70 people in the facility and though that was not many for the venue size, half of the building was open and the kids took it over with games and balloons that they were enjoying just kicking and bopping around. The rental fee was higher than I wanted to pay for our fairly small group size, but i had no trouble getting my family to each pitch in enough to recover the costs and they all seemed to appreciate the amenities. There were lovely shades trees outside the building and nice small gardens and landscaping that we enjoyed too while watching folks play corn hole (we brought our own). The park has 2 - maybe 3 pretty lakes with lovely bridges and a playground. There is a concession stand and small train ride but they were not open on our holiday weekend. It was not a big loss though. We were able to entertain ourselves. One drawback for some of the family members was that alcohol is not allowed. But I will definitely consider it for future reunions.

We normally aren't the people to write reviews; however, we feel our experience needs to be shared…read more We recently got married at White Chateau after rescheduling (4-6 weeks before our initial date, giving plenty of notice as the contract stated) due to covid. We had to pay in full in order to reschedule, even with the state of Kentucky being shut down (which isn't our main complaint). The day of the wedding, everything seemed to be running smoothly. Suzanne did a great job setting all of our decorations up and preparing for the big day. The event space was beautiful. After the traditional parts of the reception were finished (dinner, dances, cake, etc.), around 8pm, Suzanne and her staff started abruptly cleaning everything up and throwing things away, which included clearing the decorations off tables if people left, went to the dance floor, or even stepped outside. This made it seem like the night was over. (Per the contract, we agreed to having the venue until 11pm, with our vendors being out by midnight). Even though we appreciated the help with cleaning up (which per the contract, we weren't responsible for) 8pm was way too early to start. The Favor cups bought for the guests were being thrown away with cold beverages still in them, glass jars full of dog treats were being tossed in the trash, our flower girls cup with her name on it (again a gift we gave her) was thrown away, along with a wedding card and money that my grandmother had lying on the table while she went to the restroom. When approached about the card, the coordinator got very defensive saying if they did throw it away it's in the trash and showed no remorse for the situation. There was lack of communication, never asking what we wanted to keep or throw away. A key reason we chose this venue was because the coordinator completely sets up and tears down for you. So for us, we preferred to pay the more expensive price for a venue that would do just that. We brought a small uhaul with our decorations, took them inside, she decorated, then after the wedding we verbally agreed to leave the uhaul there and would pick it up really early the next morning (Sunday). At 9pm, the coordinator approached the groom asking if he was going to back the uhaul up so we could start packing everything up and how we had to take the uhaul with us that night. Normally that wouldn't have been an issue; however, that's not what we had previously discussed. I am a complete planner (even down to the minutes parents were supposed to arrive to various locations throughout the day lol) so I definitely would have had a plan in place if this was communicated prior. Again, this made us feel like an inconvenience, cutting the night short, and ultimately causing a negative experience on our big day. Altogether, we truly had a magical wedding and had a great time with our friends and families. The ending our night was poorly handled in many ways causing our negative experience on one of the biggest days of our lives. We ultimately felt like an inconvenience for the coordinator through the lack of common courtesy, lack of communication, and the lack of approachability through the general demeanor of the staff. We can only speak from our experience. We only hope this review helps others think about the venue they are choosing and allows for improvement for the White Chateau venue.
