This will be the absolute last time I step foot into this bizzaro land. You walk in, you are barely greeted, ok. Once you are greeted you are treated with utter disdain it almost like you are in their way. They have something called "fitters" they have an hour wait to see them but if you just want to try a bra on, without the need to be "fitted", the idea itself gives them hives. I finally was allowed to try on a bra and asked for another style that may have been inside a drawer - the girl that was helping me, who was NOT a fitter needed to confer with her "fitters" to see if she's allowed to open the drawers and show me another style and warned me that if she does, she's not able to give me a different size in case one is needed. As I was waiting for this major decision to be handed down by the staff, I stood by the fitting room and was told to, and I quote: "please step away from the fitting rooms". Not do you mind to wait by the register, or anything a little more polite than "step away from the fitting room". I've shopped there over the years but this is the last time. And oh, everything they carry is almost double the price that you can find online, so unless you're a glutton for punishment and really love to pay to get whipped by a bunch of old ladies - save yourself the experience and avoid this place at all costs. read more

I happened to be at Willow Park and was curious about Knickers 'n Lace since I hear their ads on the radio. What a mistake!!! I was about three steps into the store when someone started screaming at me - literally screaming!! - because I reached out to feel the fabric of a bra. "If you don't have an appointment, get out" she yelled. I was so confused. I left and can guarantee that I will NEVER go back. read more

I purchased two bras today from a sales lady who was able to pick sizes accurately. The big disappointment was that they did not have a restroom for me to use. I had driven over an hour for my appointment. I was sent to the coffee bar on the corner to purchase a coffee to use their single restroom. There was a line up so I didn't wait. The excuse was that it is an old building and unsafe to use the staff restroom. Apparently insurance restricts them. This lack of customer care for a high end boutique leaves a sour taste for me. If I could give just a 1/2 a star or even zero stars I would. The owner of this store is one of the rudest retail sales people I have ever met. Not only does she not acknowledge people but when taking items into the fitting room, my girlfriend was told that "those are too small for you and won't fit" and she had a big parka over her clothes. This woman's rule attitude is consistent with the last time we were there from a year ago when she told my friend she should shop at Victoria's Secret or La Senza. REALLY??? Absolutely disgusted by the way my partner and I were treated on Saturday! My partner had to come into the change room with me as I had surgery and needed help putting on some items as I can't lift my arms up and was treated with absolute ignorance by the staff. Not only were we told that she couldn't go in with me but another staff member loudly made inappropriate comments when other customers were in the store. for a store that is supposedly LGBTQ friendly it was less than friendly. we Will never step foot into this store again. I was hesitant to shop here because of the reviews I had read, but I was absolutely blown away by this shop (For all the right reasons). Although they didn't pick up the phone when I called to book an appointment, they were quick to return my call and fit me in when it worked best for me. I've gained a lot of weight recently due to PCOS and none of my bras were fitting and my confidence was depleting quickly. These women were professional and encouraging and got me into a bra that was comfortable and that fit me perfectly! they had so many different styles of bras for a wide range of sizes and they have lingerie too. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me gain some confidence back. I can't speak highly enough of this place and I recommend checking them out! This was my second visit to Knickers 'n Lace. This is a business which knows how to provide phenomenal service! I was measured, and they found a wonderful fit for my 'wee-ones' :) It's not just for ladies with curves... I went back and the experience with ERIN G was equally fantabulous! Also, I never realized bras could be altered!!! The straps of all my bras are so long that the clasp would almost sit on my shoulder, rubbing uncomfortably on the bone. I have had some varied experiences at Knickers 'n Lace. Sometimes the experience is incredible. It's these times that I get incredible service, proper fitting, and amazing attention. Other times? I have found the salestaff to be rude, curt, and just unpleasant. This is one of those places where the staff make or break the experience. The bras are awesome. There is no doubt that the product wears well, it's incredibly comfortable, and it's pretty (which is always a bonus). It's a good bet for a good quality bra. read more

Went here looking for a strapless bra for my wedding. I have size H breasts and was hoping to find something local that specializes in good quality bras. Look, I know asking for a strapless bra for a woman with large boobs is no easy request. But the women who work there follow you around like you're planning to steal their product. The one and only bra that was available was still just a little too small, and when I asked if by chance there was anything else, she rolled her eyes and said "not in your size." I don't know why, but even after the lackluster attitude, I still bought this ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BRA and ended up not even wearing it at the wedding. I'm not usually one to write reviews (especially negative ones) but I have to say something to the women in Calgary who are looking for a nice shop to buy lingerie: do some research and find a store other than Knickers n' Lace. I give it 1 star for the quality of their clothing and the location of the store. Getting fitted for and purchasing a bra is uncomfortable enough without having to deal with the pretentious attitudes of some of the staff at this very expensive retailer in Willow Park. I have never said the service at Knickers n' Lace was particularly good - at best it is a little high-end-boutique-snooty - but I love their products and have been supporting my girls with their imported bras since my mom started taking me there at 16. Yesterday though was the day I stopped giving this store my business (or my now-16 year old daughter's or my mom's or my friends'). The manager was unpleasant & unaccommodating. She made me feel guilty & embarrassed for attempting to exchange a $150 bra that was damaged the first time I put it on. She wanted to send it to their seamstress and have the broken piece on the side panel that was jabbing into the skin under my armpit (I believe it's called a "bone"?) removed. I thought that this would change the integrity of the bra, but she insisted that it was all they could do. I pointed out that it was a damaged product that the store should stand behind, but she didn't see it that way... She was loud and angry and condescending and insulting... even her employees were shooting me self-consciously sympathetic looks as they tried to look busy and not stare. I didn't back down and walked out with a new bra that had been practically thrown in my face. I was shaking, hot and my face was 500 shades of red but I felt good about it too... I guess they don't need my business... and if I were you I wouldn't take my chances at this store. read more

Anyone who is not your typical 32B will agree with me that a well fitting bra is a necessity that is worth an investment. This morning,I was expertly fitted and shown a half dozen amazing bras that fit so well I could have wept. I gladly paid over $100 each (2 were $158) for my bras as I know that they are of an incredible quality. My last trip to the store was in 2009 and those bras are still in excellent shape. Having your girls upright and where they belong makes you look and feel like a million bucks,and I will continue to support this business as they support me!! read more

I really want to like this store because they have beautiful things, but today's visit has totally turned me off of it. When you first go in, you're supposed to put your name on the waiting list for a fitting room and personalized service. I walked around for 10 minutes without any sales women approaching me. I found some items to try on and an open fitting room, so I went for it. No sooner had I gotten one boot off and there was a knock at the door and I was told I had "taken" someone's room and had to give up the room. It was only then that the waiting list was explained to me. She explained that the store works this way so that each customer can be properly fitted for a bra... When I told her I wasn't shopping for a bra, she didn't seem particularly interested in helping me. I waited another 10 minutes before getting a room; honestly, I should have walked out but I really wanted to try some stuff on. While in the fitting room I changed my mind and asked my saleslady for assistance with a bra. I told her my size - not an unusual one - and her response was basically, oh, we have very little in that size, we sold a whole bunch yesterday. Really? You're a bra store! She brought me a few to try on but none were what I was looking for and what I told her I wanted...she didn't even bring me bras that were the right colour. (nude!) So yeah, beautiful stuff, though very expensive, but not a place to which I'll likely go back. read more

I purchased a bra from here and the ordeal I went through was crazy. There was no way I was a JJJ. The bra fit alright but I felt very pressured to buy while I was there. When ever I come here and ask for something remotely similar to my size I am always told, "We don't have much in that size. We sold a bunch yesterday." Every time I go.... Makes me think they didn't have any to sell in the first place. They say they have specialty sizes, but apparently not. These ladies will try to fit you into a bra that is not the right size, just to make a sale. "It'll do in a pinch", they say. Do you really expect me to spend $100+ on a bra that does not fit? I have never written a review but I was extremely disappointed with the service I received here today. I was planning on buying a few bras and left with nothing and felt pressured because of it. My sales lady seemed friendly at first but continued bringing me bras that did not fit what I was asking for. I tried them on anyways because what the heck I might be presently surprised. She continued telling me bras fit me nicely when I was pretty much exploding out of them. When I did find one I semi liked, although not the colour I wanted, she was pressuring me to go with it even though I wasn't satisfied. She then tried to bring me something similar in the colour I wanted... Again fit was awful. And kept telling me no it wasn't. I also understand sizes differ from brand to brand but I was getting all over the board from a d to an f. I am so surprised I walked into a bra specialty store and couldn't find a nude or black slightly padded bra in my size. I have had a better more comfortable and more knowledgable experience at Victoria's Secret. The bras I have purchased there also feel superior in quality to what was given. I've tried going in here a couple of times, and every time I've felt pressured and uncomfortable. When I enter a store and simply say I'm just looking and know my size, I'd rather not have employees hounding me. The manager and her employees asked multiple times what I was looking for or what style I preferred, and I said I was just looking and wanted to . I felt so uncomfortable I didn't even bother trying anything on and went for the door. I was stopped once more by the manager (literally standing in the way of the exit) and I had to spell out the fact that I was trying to leave. I'm not an aggressive or abrupt person, and this store makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I even get the feeling that her employees are pressured to be pushy as well, which just adds a whole other level of stress. I can't imagine having to be fit here, or going in and simply wanting to do things yourself. Lingerie stores should be safe spaces for women to go into without any kind of pressure or stress, and it's disappointing that so many seem to fail on that front. I honestly recommend Bratopia if you're looking for plus sizes, or even the Bay if you're on the smaller end and don't want to spend a fortune. Bratopia's prices are similar, if not cheaper, and I've always felt good about the vibe in that store, and the Bay is good if you know your size and just want to try them on and go. I guess if you're a confident extrovert Knickers and Lace is a decent enough shop, but if you're like me and have any kind of misgivings or anxiety when it comes to bra shopping, or any kind of shopping for that matter, I'd steer clear of this store. read more

I went to this store extremely skeptical, even a little defensive if I'm honest. I had heard that the staff there are a little uppity. I had the complete opposite experience. I have a serious concern with back and neck issues caused by wearing poorly sized bras. These women spent close to 3 hours with me. Seems like a lot I know but necessary to find the right garment. The store manager, Ashley, is a gem. She is kind, knowledgeable, funny and has so much empathy. She managed to narrow the selection down to a few bras that actually fit properly. It took a lot of doing and the patience she displayed is rare nowadays. I cannot say enough good things. I will be a customer for life. I used to really like going there. The staff used to be super knowledgeable and helpful. Over the last couple years it's gotten worse and worse. Sales people have started to come across unhelpful. Recently I went there trying to find some sort of undergarment for my strapless grad dress. I knew this would be hard considering I'm a 28F. The minute we walked in and told the sales lady this she told us there wasn't much they could do for me. I tried on a strapless bra with my dress and it was obvious this wasn't working. The sales lady asked another employee for advise. She proceeded to tell me that I should have been more mindful in choosing my dress because I'm so busty and there isn't anything that will work for me then walked away. At this point I was in tears. The way she said it was very rude and condescending . I've been dealing with my bust size for years and that was the last thing I needed to hear when trying to make my grad dress perfect. Then when I was in the change room, I could hear them talking about me and how much bigger I look with my normal bra on!!! Not impressed at all...... Just a hint to the people that work there that.. I was in looking for robes for myself and my bridesmaids for my upcoming wedding. From the moment I walked in the door I got sized up by the sales ladies. I had just come from a facial so had no makeup on and wasn't dressed up. The sales people followed me around as though I was going to steal something and made me feel very uncomfortable. I have never been made to feel as much like a criminal in my life. They had a beautiful robe that I was considering purchasing but basically got chased out of the store. I don't want to step foot back in those doors even though I would really like to purchase the robe. I will spend my money elsewhere, where customers are treated with respect. read more

First time at knickers and lace and I will not be returning! I I went there to buy two bras. I did get two bras, but they sold me a bra that is way to small. I will no longer support Knickers and Lace even though I have been a cutomer for many years. My daughter and I went in to find a strapless bra for her. We were the only customers in the store. The clerk assigned to help us was more interested in eating her cookie than serving us. She pulled out one bra which my daughter put on. My daughter told her it was sliding and would not stay in place. The clerk yelled across the store to the owner"she doesn't like it". The clerk then told my daughter that perhaps her mom should come in and look. Who says that to a 25 year old"! The best part was that this particular bra was the only strapless one they had. We should go to Victorias Secret or La Senza in the mall for a better selection. My daughters size is 30D . This clerk put her in a 34. Is it a wonder that it didn't fit? Whatever you do with this shop DO NOT purchase any sort of gift certificates or gift cards.I went in to use a gift certificate only to find out the person who bought it for me supposedly produced a receipt from 3 years prior &used my certificate for $150.00 without the certificate.I had the certificate!They could not have been less helpful or less sympathetic.Store policy is all they could muster! read more

Once again, the experience left a lot wanting. Put my name on the "wait list" for service, and sat patiently. At one point, only one of the rooms was being used, as all service personnel were tied up waiting for a computer, looking for pick up orders, or dealing with walk-in requests. After seeing two people get service who had come in after me, I found my name had been crossed off the list??? It appeared if you are friends of someone, you get in faster. This business model needs an overhaul. As my companion said "I would rather burn my dollars than come back here". Nordstrom carries some of the same things, without all of the drama. Hello Ladies, I am really disappointed in the service I received today, I came in last week to find a strapless bra for my wedding. I am nursing my 6 month old daughter still so my boobs are huge right now. I told the sales woman what I thought my size was (purchased 2 nursing bras here and my breasts have gone down in size). She found me a few options and I started to try, instead of bringing me my size 34E. She brought in 34Fs and said when you go down in band size you go up in cup size. Needless to say, I purchased a bra that I wasn't completely happy with. I asked specifically if I cold bring it back and get my money back, was told yes. I had my dress fitting with the tailor on Saturday and the bra didn't work. Went to the store today (November 5th) to get my money back and proceeded to get the fifth degree about why I was returning it. It didn't fit number one, and it did not work with my dress. I told the sales woman that I never would have purchased it if I couldn't take it back. I had purchased another bra at a different retailer in my size that worked, so I didn't want store credit or exchange, they didn't' have any options in my size anyways. They asked if I would mind if the manager got back to me about this tomorrow, they kept the bra and wrote my number down on a stickee note. I am super upset and will post once the manager has called me back. NOT IMPRESSED AND WILL NOT SHOP AGAIN AT THIS STORE. I purchased a nighty at I am Woman in Edmonton and saw the same one there it was $19 more (I paid $110). The cats pyjamas in Kensington is hard to get to but worth going to over going to Knickers and Lace, their prices are about the same and sometimes cheaper, the selection is also much better. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff who greeted me shortly after I entered the store. She asked if she could help me and I said yes, I needed a bra. She enquired about size and told her what I thought. She asked if she could size me? But of course. She (Carol) did and I was way off. I worked for over an hour with this woman and she found 4 bras that fit that I liked and were to my taste. I certainly tried everything she suggested and liked some and not so much others. I also tried one of their new lines of panties to see if I like them. I got great customer service, and would definitely shop there again. You get what you pay for folks and customer service is so important when purchasing items that must fit well. Thank you very much. read more

Every few years I drop in hoping to find a proper fitting bra. Recently I've lost 70lbs and my breasts look like tube socks with tennis balls at the bottom. I'm sure I'm not a J cup anymore but clearly need some help finding the right cup size. Every time I go there the staff refuse to look up never mind greet me. This time I announced loudly to my husband that I was looking for a proper fitting bra. Still, no one acknowledged me. It was Friday morning, we were the only customers and there were 3 staff on site. I've had excellent experiences in San Diego getting fitted and routinely pay over $100 US to buy bras on the Internet, which is cheaper than any store in town. Clearly K&L don't want my business. Such a shame as I like the neighbouring stores, Checkmate Shoes, etc. I'll be trying other specialty stores and hope to have positive reviews. I won't waste any more of my time at K&L. read more

I rate knickers'n Lace one star only for a great location as that is the reason I've gone into their store three times. Every time I've been in there, the staff is extremely rude! My advise to all the women would be to take the time and go to SHE lingerie. I heard about the Knickers n Lace Annual Bra sale so I thought I would check it out today. It was busy but I got lots of help picking out some styles that I liked. They have a huge selection which was daunting so i appreciated the help I got in finding a couple of pretty bras that fit me right. After I read the reviews for this place on Google, I wasn't looking forward to going to this place. However, I was desperate for a bra that fit properly. I went in prepared to walk out if I was ignored or felt got the snobbish vibe mentioned in the other reviews. Well I was instantly pleasantly surprised! I was warmly greeted within seconds of walking in. I was helped by a lovely saleswoman named Alex. She spent an hour with me finding a bra that not only fit me perfectly, but that I felt good about wearing. Not once did she try and push me to like a bra I didn't like. Alex is very knowledgable and explained so many things to me, to help me find a perfect fit. When it came down to my 3 finalist, the other saleswoman were all very happy to help vote which one looked best and help me decide. I was totally dreading this shopping trip and ended up loving it! The downside of this shop is how expensive it is, but I didnt take a star off of the review because you are paying for what you get... i high qualify bra that you don't want to rip off immediately . I will surely be going back to Knickers and Lace! read more
