They've added a training pad for student drivers. The parking for visitors can be confusing don't park in the right parking lot just keep going straight in it seems like you'll be locked out but there's parking closer to the building. Staff/office have the covered parking. Cdl drivers local or over the road are all in the uncovered parking to the left. CMV entrance is in the rear of the facility so be mindful there isn't space to flip a CMV and trlr just off hand. Office staff were friendly when I was there and personable. I was excited and looking forward to going to work for Knight. I thought I was set to take their training class but they pulled the plug at the last minute without explaining why. I called the recruiter early last Friday in hopes of starting the their program the following Monday. She did not take my call but within moments I received an email saying "I regret to inform you that we will not be offering the position to you at this time." I was confused as to the reason why. I tried calling her three times and sent two emails to find out why with no response. I'm a Veteran and sent the "Military Recruiting Leader" an email still hoping for a reason. Nothing! I'm thinking I dodged a bullet with this company if they can't have a discussion. No communication is not good at all, and to say the least, very unprofessional. I understand they are not required legally to offer me a reason but I would think, out of common courtesy for the time I put in, some sort of explanation. Management is a joke. Salaried employees work way too many hours and have get no respect. They fail way too many loads with no remorse or care for the Customer. Management chases their own bonuses as other's expense. Think Shell game, that is exactly how they operate. read more

Great company to work for especially if you have a good dispatcher and good running truck willing to travel across the states you should have a good week or even a good month working, only downfall like most truck companies is when your truck is in the shop and your sitting in the hotel waiting but that comes with trucking no matter the company but overall Knight transportation is a good company. read more

So my wife and i were walking in front of fuel island at the pilot off exit 619 in orland northern california and this knight driver looks right at us and starts driving forcing my wife to run forward and my self to jump back.The guy got out of the truck and i said are you really that impatient. He looks at me and says YES I AM i told him you almost hit my wife and i HE LOOKED AT ME AND SAID ANDDDD YOU GOT OUT OF MY WAY RIGHT!!!!I have been driving for over 15 years and i have never ever ever had to deal with this nor have i ever made a complaint about a driver but this was to much truck number was 122529 pulling trailer 80220 read more

Worked for them on and off for 2 years,not a bad company...I was out of the Tulsa Oklahoma yard,only real issue with the company is there owner operator program,needs work that I will keep between me and Kevin Knight...oh I hated there truck idle setup about as bright as a blowout light bulb. read more

This is the most disorganized business I have ever dealt with, between scheduling deliveries and dealing with their customer service. And by the way, we have been using them for months to do our deliveries for an out of state job. Not one time did they do what they we had scheduled with them. One time a driver parked the trailer 100 miles from job and just left it. We had to track the truck down!! NEVER will use them again. With this post, I am not looking for any pitty, I have gone through a lot and got through it and I will get through this, also. I just want to make all the other drivers aware of an issue that recently happened to me that could happen to you. When I first started working for Knight Transportation I thought it was the company that best suited what I wanted to do with my driving career. Then I had a heart attack and everything changed. I ended up having to have bypass surgery because of a blockage that a stint was not an option to fix. I was released from the hospital a week after my heart attack. One week after my release, two other members of my family and I were involved in a head-on collision. The three of us could of been killed, my second time of facing death within two weeks, because of some stupid 24 year old that was high on drugs and traveling on the wrong side of the road. Because of the accident, I had setbacks in my recovery that put me back in the hospital for another week. I worked hard to recover from the surgery and the setbacks because I wanted to get back to working for Knight as an OTR driver. I was told when I had the heart attack that I was welcome back provided that I re-applied and could pass all the requirements. One of DOT regulations say a minimum of 12 weeks off work, to allow the chest area to heal. I had done all the recovery and have all the clearances needed by DOT to be able to return to driving. I even went to occupational/physical therapy while doing my cardio rehab, so I would be able to pass the feasibility/agility test that Knight requires. After all my hard work to get back, I re-applied the day I received my clearances from the cardiologist. I had another punch in the face the following day when I was told by Knight that they were not going to rehire me. When I ask why I was not being re-hired, I was told I was off work too long. Had the heart attack and the accident not happened I would have still been employed. I just want to let all the other Knight drivers know, if you like your job like I did, I hope and pray that you never have the problems and setbacks that I did, that were out of my control. Because there is a very good chance you will not have your job after your recovery. read more

Completed the CDL Training program last week in Phoenix, AZ and got my Class A license. The instructors were great and really took the time make sure I was prepared for my test. It's a fast paced program but you have to put the time in to study after each class. The instructors really do care about you passing your test and help EVERYONE. I recommend this program to anyone looking to get their Class A license. read more

Just made a trip westbound on I-84 in Oregon to Portland with some jackass in a Knight truck that ran with their highbeams on behind me all the way. They got in front on me once west of the Dalles.....then proceeded to lock their brakes up on every curve. I got back in front of them since I didn't want them in front of me if their driving skills were so bad that the road curving freaked them out. Whoever this was pulling trailer 90034.....you are headed for a death on the freeway if you are just that shitty of a driver can't see at night and can't negotiate curves in the dark safely. read more
