Amazing wood framing and floors, private guest rooms (two share a large patio off the front of the house), two kitchens and so much more! The owners are the sweetest! They are more than helpful, accomodating, knowledgeable about the area (history and local events). Plus, they make a killer breakfast! As a "green girl" I sincerely appreciate the heath and sustainability of the couple and the property. Your eggs can be fried with coconut oil and paired with fresh vegetables from their garden. They compost and only clean with sustainable products. Also earth concious, they have solar panels and water efficient toilets. The rooms are cozy and the beds comfortable as can be. Even the pillows were great - I know because I usually have to travel with my own due to my TMJ. The master suite has a phenomenal hot tub (see pics) which is well worth the stay right there! Better than any of the finest hotel tubs in Vegas, which I know first hand. Note, it's right off a semi-busy street in town and you can sometimes hear the traffic, but when the windows and doors are closed you barely hear a thing. I highly recommend and can't wait for the opportunity to go back!

The building was a structurally sound gracious old home, yet the amenities were as modern and accommodating as one might find in a modern hotel. As I looked around in every room, on every wall, on every table and in every nook there was a well decorated elegance and charm - books, throws, photos, art and even grand pianos (2). More importantly Marty and Ann are the quintessential hosts. The perfect balance of charming and engaging without hovering around. Their breakfasts are delicious and Marty's coffee (New Orleans style) is the best. Don't miss breakfast! I cannot recommend their fine house and their warm company strongly enough. Tom and Allison

Its exterior looks a bit dated--probably 1970s-1980s but don't let that fool you. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was fairly typical, with a decent variety. It's a rock solid, nuthin' fancy place which suited our needs for a few nights.

Immediately upon entering my room, it smelled old and musty; flipping on the fan cleared the air in a few minutes. The rooms themselves were fine. Obviously, attempts at updating have been made (paint, carpets, plugs for electronics, coffee maker, etc,.) You could tell the rooms and furniture were old, but perfectly adequate. About half a hour after we got into our rooms, we received a call from reception asking if everything was ok, and if we needed anything. Shortly thereafter, while using the bathroom sink, it wouldn't drain. I called down to reception, informed them of the problem and that I was going out for a couple of hours. Upon my return, the problem was fixed! Before checking out, we received a letter under the door, hoping that our stay was fine and to let them know if we weren't satisfied. Checkout was at the reception desk and was fine. The included breakfast was ok. They had a lot of options: multiple juices, fruits, yogurt, pastries, cereals, granola bars, make your own waffle machine, your own hot oatmeal and toast, plus scrambled eggs sausages and bacon on a hot tray. They have a couple of vending machines by the elevators which carry soft drinks and snacks. For the location and being only two blocks from the center of Franklin, this hotel serves its customers well. They really go the extra mile to make people happy during their stay. I remember the hotel when it was built in the 1960s. The hallway to the elevators have pictures of old Franklin and the Oil City area, "back in the day," even before it was the original Voyager Inn. Now, it seems to be mostly an overnight business hotel; the parking lot fills up each evening and empties early the next morning; it's nice to know it's still around!

It doesn't matter if it's the middle of summer and you can spend time on the river, enjoying a nice fall hike, or watching the snow fall, the views can't be beat. The rooms and lodge itself have been designed for the most comfort. Every little detail from the cookies in your room when you check in, to the amenities in the common areas insure that the tranquil feeling stays. If you're lucky enough to do the taste of the wilds dinner, I highly recommend doing the wine pairing with it. Everything was paired out so perfectly and it was one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate when sharing the information about the wine. All the staff went out of their way to ensure you had the best service.

The daily breakfast baskets were a great start to the day, especially before heading out hiking (we went looking for river otters). Coming back, jumping into the hot tub by the fireplace felt like flipping the off switch on real life. Dinner Saturday night was excellent, and the wine pairing was clearly chosen with care, not just checked off a list. And the chocolate mousse with espresso salt? That's the kind of thing you remember long after checkout.

Popcorn after 3pm, cookie and iced cream at 7pm, all day coffee, a surprisingly really decent breakfast (hot and cold), a large and clean pool and jacuzzi area and a normal sized hotel gym that's clean. Some work being done currently (room and decor updates) but it's still quiet and all of the rooms seem newly updated and very clean, new, the beds and pillows are great, tons of cleaning staff employed here, honestly this hotel sets the bar high and I am thoroughly glad I stayed here

As I previously noted, there's a popcorn machine, warm cookies, free bottled water, fruit, coffee and tea, and candies in the lobby. Every evening from 5-6pm there's a happy hour with beer/wine/liquor as well as a free hot meal item; last night when I was there it was chicken noodle soup and cheese w/ crackers, wonderful for a cold night! Every night at 9pm there's a free ice cream social in the breakfast area. The room was spotless and I love the bath and body works shower toiletries. The TV is a flat screen and it's a nice size. The front desk and the housekeeping staff are very friendly and will always smile and say hello or have a nice day as you pass by, a nice touch. The bed is just as comfortable as I remember and I found myself checking the tags on the bedding and pillows so I can buy them- they are very soft and cozy. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you are in the area, and it is not too far from Conneaut lake area if that's your thing too. There's a decent selection of chain restaurants a few stores/shops to browse.
