The first was a condo that needed a new on demand water heater installed and a small 28 gal removed. It had to be inspected per HOA rules. Is passed and the work was complemented on by the inspector. At that Condo we also needed the sink moved from the wall 12 feet to a new counter to face the ocean. This required all new piping and drains and a new dishwasher and air gap install. . At This house we had a poor solar set up and four failing valves to be replaced. I had sent him pic s of problem areas and he came with all proper valves and piping. Plus an extra relief valve, just in case. And in fact, we did need it. Now we are back on track and everyone will get a hot shower. And we added on 2 new angle valves under our kitchen sink that controlled water flow to the refer for ice maker and cold drinking water. So he fixed that while he was here. I had one final question on settings next day and Chris answered my text with a call and clearly answered my question. On a Saturday morning! Now that's a great response to a customer. I first contacted Perrin Plumbing via e-mail on June 20th to inquire about having a tune-up done on my water heater. Chris replied the same day saying that he had work scheduled through the 30th, but if any time opened up he would let me know. I agreed and said that if I had my water heater serviced before then I would let him know. We both did not contact each other after that. On November 13th, I sent Chris a follow-up e-mail saying that I put off my water heater tune-up because Hawaii Energy extended the offered credit into next year, but that I'd like to get it done in the next month if he had any opens. Three days later, he replied apologizing for missing my e-mail and to let me know that he could service my heater in the next month. I replied asking what date and times worked for him, and we agreed on December 1st. I e-mailed on the 19th to ask what time worked for him, and followed-up again on the 23rd to confirm a time. To date, I have not heard back from him. December 1st is in three days and he still hasn't confirmed a time with me, so I decided to go with another plumbing company. I really wanted to use Perrin Plumbing because he has such excellent reviews on Yelp, and I wanted to support a smaller business. I'm sure that he is great at what he does, and he is very pleasant in our e-mail correspondence, but my water heater is acting up something awful and I just can't wait on him. My three-star rating is a reflection of the lack of communication and the long wait time for a response.

We have a tankless hot water system. They said we needed to expand our electric panel and we paid them to do this. However, the lights still flicker when we turn on the hot water. Additionally, they never got the permit approval from the county although we paid for it, so the work is not permitted. Also, if you check the state contractors license board, they are not a licensed contractor, so we have no recourse but honest reviews. I also paid them to fix light switches which still don't work. To their credit, they did put in a 220v outlet in the kitchen for my electric oven and induction cooktop, and that is working. But that is the only thing they did that works and we are out of a lot of money. We are kapuna living on fixed income, so thousands of dollars wasted to fix something and it's still broke is a big deal. Another thing - check your invoices. They quoted me time and materials, but then they just charged one amount and didn't invoice time OR materials, just one lump sum for work that was never done. Then they said no county permit unless I paid balance in full for incomplete work, which we did, but still no county permit approval. I hired them based on good reviews, but I got bad service. I feel very taken advantage of.
