It's the quintessential traditional, old-time auction house with the paper tickets, chanting auctioneers, and a crowd of rich personalties whom you will get to know well if you become a regular customer. Over the past few years, the quality of the items has risen substancially. I've purchased everything there from a mounted big-horn sheep, to loads of fishing equipment, fine books and even a prosthetic leg (which I ended up selling at a nice profit to a one-legged Gypsy in Romania, no joke!) My one piece of advice would be to bring a book and plan to stay for the duration, as the best deals often come up toward the end. They have recently moved up their start time from 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., mercifully making the nights not quite so late. The coins they had on auction one night were fake and no refunds even when they said they were real. As a seller its the worst they take 40% and the buyer pays 10 percent they will sell your item for a dollar with no reserve. I rather go to more respected auctions in the area.
