This is quite easily the best children's museum that I have ever been to, hands-down. There are so many different areas for kids to explore. There are activities on the first and second floor. There are things to do and see and get dirty and get all hands on, both inside and outside. The staff are so friendly. The ones who are working in certain hands on areas are very good about maintaining clean working environments not just for themselves, but for the children as well. You have everything from stem learning areas to the artist garden, and the pelican pottery area. There is an area where kids learn about bubbles and the Girl Scouts had an event today where they were learning about the solar system. There is just so much for kids to see and do here. Admission is $15 but I can tell you, it is worth absolutely every penny. If I lived any closer, I would easily pay the $100 for the membership. That would be entirely worth it. There is this one structure that looks like a bunch of piled up both open and closed books. It is actually a climbing structure for the kids. It extends from the base floor all the way up to the second floor, which is the main level. It is quite a sight to see your child hook their head up from the structure up and over the guard rails on the second floor. The kids here were so friendly. They were very friendly and no one was pushy. The parents are also allowed to climb on the structure. That was pretty cool. I don't know about you, but I don't trust my knees. I would rather not slide or fall off anything that I really shouldn't have had any business climbing up all over on anyway. We met some really great people here. This was our first time going to the Knock Knock Museum and I can tell you that this won't be our last. This place is absolutely incredible and the standard is absolutely excellent. One thing that stood out is that this place is so clean especially with how much foot track and kids come through. The staff was 1st class and super friendly. They interacted with not only our child, but with others. Super welcoming and just definitely loving kids. We almost spent 3 hours in the museum because there was so much to do and our daughter wore herself out. This definitely needs to be on top of your list if you have kids and want something to do. read more

I normally won't complain about pricing but 64 for 2 adults that are only walking around watching kids and 2 children is a bit steep. Really should be some type of adult discount. Membership at 200 for 2 adults and 2 children is a bit steep also but if you lived close enough it might be worth it. There's a lot for kid to do but I could see them getting bored after a couple trips. It's very well staffed though and clean. Workers are friendly and constantly moving, picking up, interacting. Parking is good and plentiful. Went there for a field trip the first time and it had enough space for buses and parents, lots of parents (kids school travels well). All and all it's worth going once or twice but to warrant a membership with 2 kids you'd have to plan on going at least 4 times in the year and I just can't see that being worth it or keeping children's attention past the first couple trips. read more

I remember coming to Knock Knock not too long after they first opened and it was a lovely experience . I took my son recently and it was a different experience. The staff was friendly, but the actual museum needed some upkeep. When we first walked in the front door I noticed that it didn't smell too fresh. The areas and equipment just seemed like they needed a deep clean. If they could get a nice refresh/deep cleaning and maybe replace some of the toys that have been worn out, it would be better. read more

So fun and all the staff and volunteers were kind and nice. There is two floors and my children enjoyed the upstairs where there is this massive crane that actually works to move soft blocks. The day we went it was free admission day and they had a financial literacy program for children where they could earn coins at stations towards prizes to redeem at a store they had set up. My eldest enjoyed visiting all the stations and was motivated to earn the coins. He got some great prizes at the end. There is also a soft play area for kids under 4 that my other 2 enjoyed. I had I mean my daughter had the most fun! A pretend grocery, A claimable book tower, a working crane, a giant light brite, a pretend vet clinic. Omg so much to do my daughter could have spent all day there. She spent hours in the toddler play area which on its own was amazing. It had A giant nest structure, a boat you can rock, under the nest there were catfish you could pretend to noodle a padded alligator pond area. The whole space is amazing. We finally got the chance to go to the Knock Knock Children's Museum. The first level when you enter offers: a book area, a mechanic area with a "car wash", a fishing area where you catch "fish" with a magnetic fishing rod, a dance studio with virtual instructors so you can put on a show, a grocery store, a restaurant, & a supervised craft area. The lower level offers: the Bayou bridge which you can "fix", a crane, a wind tunnel you can throw scarves in and watch flutter around, an area where you can build with legos, and try your hand at a hand drill or saw, a gated baby area with stuff to entertain the 3 and younger crowd, a bubble area (my favorite), an excercise area complete with a book tower you can climb (it's two stories high), a boat you can pretend to drive, a vet area, and an area where you can use your brain and solve puzzles. I believe it's a little over priced for what they offer. The kids are all thoroughly entertained though. I just remember growing up going to a childrens museum that I loved and nothing has ever blown me away in comparison. It is definitely worth it for the younger kids especially with how much it rains in LA, it offers an indoor space where the kids can get their energy out. Everyone should go at least once. The staff here are kind and accomadating. The restrooms could be larger, as in more stalls, with little kids it is definitely a high traffic area. read more

My son and I went on a Sunday. Hours were 11:00am to 5:00pm. We showed up around 12ish. The staff there were friendly and let me know we were able to come in and out of the doors, as many times as we pleased. There are two floors for the kids to enjoy themselves. I seen kids from babies to around 6/7 years old, if that. The museum was not packed at all and my son was able to enjoy himself on each station he went too. I had a blast myself and thought all the little stations were super cool. I must of missed it but I did not see a place to eat. There is a small gift shop where you can purchase items and there are restrooms on every floor. Was a little pricey but hey worth it just for your child(ren) to run around with supervision and enjoy themselves. read more

Since it's opening a year and a half ago, the museum has done some things to improve accessibility for members. They have also changed some exhibits to make them more accessible to all ages and less likely to break from Misuse. It seems as if each time we come, something else has degraded or is broken. Now they have added a merchandise section which just adds to the difficulty of leaving with toddler's. They still have the two vending machines other one except cash and one accepts credit cards so be prepared to bring both. Also, the toddler area no longer allows older siblings to enter, even just to sit on the bench and watch with a parent. So if you want to enter that area be sure your older child is old enough to venture off on their own for a while read more

I love this place. My kids love this place. We are so happy to have something like this in BR finally! It's an amazing place to wear your kids out. They have tons of different activities, from dress up to reading to art. There's a huge outdoor area that they utilize if the interior is full (waiting for people to leave before letting others in). My kids especially love the pretend play areas (grocery store, restaurant and veterinary clinic). When they first opened we had a membership but now that I have 3 kids and 2 are in school full time we don't come as often and the price doesn't add up for a membership with that many kiddos on it. It can get super full if there are big groups in there but the kids don't seem to mind. I do wish they had a bit more science related areas in there as I have kids very interested in it. read more

My only suggestion would be for them to improve the outside (behind the museum) it looked abandoned & didn't matched the rest of the building. I was worried it being so small that it would be a flop. I was way wrong. You have to pre register due to COVID and they limit the amount of people during each time bock. We had the 1300 to 1500. I actually would like to see them keep this. Limiting the amount of people allowed all the kids to experience everything. They have staff in each station that are very good at interacting with the kids. We really enjoyed the food experience. My son and I had been talking about eating better and this allowed a hands on experience for learning. My son enjoyed the giant crane and woodworking experience. He was able to make a wooden necklace using real tools and then was able to paint it upstairs. I highly recommend taking you kids here. Absolutely best use of money spent. read more

My child's 1st grade class visited here for their school field trip. The museum was really nice! The kids didn't want to leave. There isn't much parking so I would recommend arriving early to get a parking spot. My little one really enjoyed the mock grocery store. The check out allows them to scan items and find them on the cash register to tally a price. Some of the areas seem small and were over crowded. I don't think I would want to visit on the weekend because it would probably be even busier. We will go back during non peak times. So glad I found this place! It was a hit for my daughter. She loved it better than the children's museum we had back at home (South Carolina). It has two stories with a lot of things the kids can learn from there... from dancing to building car parts to fishing. You name it, they have it! When we arrived, parking was hard but there was someone helping us and showing us where to go. So that helped. When we got inside it was like madness, kids everywhere. So many kids... so when we purchased tickets, she told us that they were at capacity and there would be a 15 minute wait or so and then she gave us a green laminated card to let us know when it was our groups turn to go inside.. there were outdoor activities for the kids as we were waiting. Painting, tree climbing, building cars or something out of wooden blocks(?), making flowers out of paper and fuzzy wires...etc. it was nice. Admission is $14/person above the age of 1 I believe. read more

We have been members here since the museum opened and while I'm grateful to have a fun, indoor place to play, it could be so much better. My most recent gripe is the fact that we didn't get a renewal email this year ahead of our membership lapsing. And while it isn't entirely the museum's fault, I came to expect that reminder like we had gotten the 2 previous years. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon only to discover our membership lapsed 3 weeks prior, so rather than taking my child home or paying the overpriced one-off admission (why are adults full price?) we just renewed it figuring we will get our money's worth after a few visits, but this will be our last year as members. Other gripes, since the opening of the museum, there is always some exhibit or some piece of equipment broken. Many items just seem degraded now and could be made so much better (i.e. the fishing poles.) The bubble area is a great idea, but the mixture isn't right and it is really hard to make bubbles, even as an adult. The added merchandise stand at the entrance/exit makes it extra hard to leave w/ young kids in tow, seriously Knock Knock, we beg you to remove the "gift shop!" Some things we love include the friendly staff and volunteers who really look out for the kids. The lactation room and quiet cabin downstairs next to Crawbaby area are such helpful additions. We appreciate that they have made a good effort at managing field trip traffic and love that Thursday has extended evening hours. All in all, I wish either the admission price were lower or the exhibits were better maintained and cooler (check out Austin's Thinkery for some amazing exhibit ideas!) We are glad Knock Knock exists and are thankful we could afford membership to make our trips more worth it, but it could be better. read more

There aren't that many options for indoor activities for little ones. Knock knock children's museum is a great place for the little ones to enjoy their weekend inside. First and most important recommendation: go as close to opening time as you possible can. Lines will be short, parking will be ample, and your child will have more fun as it won't be hectic (and you can actually get in.) If you wait too long, you will have to park offsite and take a shuttle to the Museum. Pricing: if you plan on taking your child here often, buy the membership. It's more than well worth it considering single visit tickets are pricier. Age groups - I don't see anyone older than 11 or so enjoying it that much, but it's perfect for everyone younger. There's two levels of a variety of different things to do. A dance room, with mirrors and dance instructions inside the mirror! Cool. They even have a dress up corner filled with playful costumes. An entire body shop/mechanic shop/fix it room, a "fishing" area equipped with magnetic poles and fish, an art area (my favorite), a kitchen, and a grocery store all on the first level. I'd say this level allows for children to learn more. They can learn different art skills from drawing, painting, watercolors, etc. There's a cool 4 and older section where they teach electric work?? Plugging in little wires to make light bulbs light up. The grocery store has "grocery lists" where children are to take the cart and find what's on the list. Cute mini scavenger hunt. The basement level, go downstairs, is more of giant "play" area. More so free play if you will. There's a shoes off crawl-play area, a bubbles room (can get messy), a climbing area, and many others. What I appreciate is that there are kind workers in EVERY area to assist the children and encourage them to experience every room. The lady working the art room definitely encouraged the inner artist of all the children. Needless to say, there are two levels of a variety of things to do. You can get upset all you want when they turn you down once they reach capacity, but think about why they do that. It's for the safety of the children inside. When it's busy and you have that many children inside - will it really be fun for even more people to enter? They will literally be on top of each other. read more

Employees playing on their cell phones, snapping at children who are trying to go into the baby room, and complaining to one another that they are ready to go home. Dirty floors, unwashed stuffed animals, dust visibly on most surfaces. Obviously the coronavirus has taken a toll on the kind of staff that this place hires. We have come here for 3 years and today was the worst experience we have had. Kids aren't going to come to a place with snappy employees and parents aren't going to bring their kids to a place that's not clean. What an absolute gem in Baton Rouge! I've only been here twice and was truly impressed both times. The facility is super clean and the crowd size seems well managed to allow for social distancing, which not only is safe but also makes the experience more fun. I love that there is a safe area for my almost 1-YO to crawl around and lots of exciting things to do for my almost 3-YO. On a hot summer day, this is a great way to get the kids out but avoid the heat. There were definitely a lot of exhibits that were too advanced for a 3-YO... I have been taking my kids to this museum about once a month!for a little over a year. There isn't much to do in BR with kids, so it's nice always have a reliable option like KKM. The place always has fun, clean activities for all ages. It is also a place for my kids to play with children that aren't in the Rougouis private-school circles. It feels like an authentic portion of the community -- especially in Free Sundays. It's also one of the only places in Baton Rouge without a television. I do wonder though if the new management will affect its learning atmosphere moving forward. It is easy to note that a gift shop has been placed directly in the lobby. read more

This was my first time going to the children's museum. My daughter had a field trip with her school so i decided to tag along. I was very impressed with all of the things that were in there. Not only was everything fun for kids but it was educational as well. The only comment i could give that is a bit negative is that they dont have very much that is geared towards special needs kids. While i was there one of the workers asked me if i had any comments to help them out. At the time I didn't but as i went on i came up with a couple of ideas. They could use some sensory stations for sensory sensitive kids, like mine. Also, they could use some button activated toys/ talking pictures or things that kids could run their hands over to find the picture. Things like that would really benefit the special needs kids. Despite my suggestions the museum is a truly wonderful place for all kids and even adults to have a good time. I will definitely be going again with my daughter in the future read more

Great center for developing young minds to be intellectually enriched and challenged all while being entertained within the perimeter of the state's capitol city. Unfortunately, the museum was built later in my daughter's life and she could not fully benefit from it because it is mostly geared towards younger children. When she was in the age range of 2 to about 6 my wife and I often made trips to New Orleans to spend the day at the Children's museum located there. If the Knock Knock Children's Museum was around during that time we would have definitely stayed in Baton Rouge, rather than make the trip out to New Orleans to visit a children's museum. So my advice to parents with very young children in Baton Rouge is get involved with Knock Knock because your kids won't only like it, but they will benefit greatly from all the entertaining hands on learning they will receive. read more

My daughter and I got there right as they opened. Big mistake, stuff was not set up in the paws and claws. There was no stuffed animals for the kids to play with. About 20 min after opening they finally got it set up. The Crain is broken. The hang time machine is broken. The bubble mix ratio is off. Even I, an adult, could not make a lasting bubble. I suspect this is so the water does not really get out of the tubs and make the staff sweep it to the drains.l Considering there is not a lot to do I think the $29 bucks I paid for me and my daughter was a complete waste. read more

Such a wonderful place for the entire family! I brought my daughter and granddaughter, 1 1/2 years old, last week and we had a blast!!! We went during the week so it was quieter than normal which was perfect as this was Lillian's first time to the knock knock. I would recommend any other first timers close in age go during the week like we did! Smaller crowds allowed us freedom and time to enjoy each station to its fullest potential! I've come here several times with my two children, their friends, and other family members. Every time, the staff is always super friendly and helpful! All the exhibits are clean and in working order and my kids have a blast! I love that there are designated areas for smaller kids so my toddler has a space where I don't have to worry about him being trampled by excited older kids. I think all kids LOVE the grocery store! I always have the hardest time getting my boys to Leave after they're done shopping and ringing up! They always want to shop all over again! Lol! It is a really nice experience if you can go during one of the slower times so your kids have more space and free reign but it's still a great outing during busy times as well! It's really fun for the whole family, I even enjoy playing with them on some of the exhibits! I don't think it would be much fun to kids pre-teen age or older but if you're kid is under that age, you should definitely come here for a visit! read more

I am so glad that Baton Rouge finally has a real children's museum. All the other ones we have here are not really geared towards the little ones. My daughter is 10-years-old now and she still had a good time here. I love that she's still a kid at heart and still finds way to have fun at these type of museums that seem like they target the kids 6 years and under. The space is nice! They even have an outdoor play area, but is closed down after rain comes through the city. It gets pretty muddy out there. When we were there, it was closed. There are multiple floors of fun + party spaces. I was a bit underwhelmed, but I'm an adult, so who cares really what I think. LOL. There is a lot for kids to climb on and pretend play with. My husband and daughter liked the car area - lots of educational value there and also loved playing the bubble area. It still looks pretty new in there and appears clean. Don't forget your hand disinfectant wipes for your kiddos though. During game days, it could be a pain to get here via the interstate, so you'll have to go around. Plan accordingly. There is plenty of parking, too. The staff was great and there was never a time I saw kids get out of hand. Fun exhibits and lots of hands-on fun for the kiddos. read more
