Wow! That's all my neighbors and friends say after they come see our new yard. Our yard is full of so many goodies that it is an absolute joy to walk people around and make them stick their nose in different flowers and experience the butterfly, hummingbird and tropical garden Brent created for us. We moved onto an amazing property that was overgrown and poorly put together and needed some organization and mystical quality. Although we DIY mostly everything, I am so glad we got Brent in here because there is no way I could have achieved even 10% of the beauty and awesome arrangements that Brent created. At the beginning, Brent did a walk around with us to get a feel for what we were thinking and then a few days later as promised he sent along a vision board type document for us to get a feel for what he recommended. We agreed to 99% of what he offered right aways, and eventually the 1% we agreed to later as we learned to trust Brent. He really knows his stuff and his enthusiasm is infectious!! Brent told us that we would be swarmed with Monarch Butterflies when he was through. Well, he wasn't lying, the 2nd day there were 3 monarch butterflies and 2 weeks later we counted 52 monarch caterpillars and 10-12 butterflies flying around. We are about to get inundated with butterflies. At night, there is a sweet fragrance throughout the whole yard due to so many sweet flowers he has placed in the yard. He really thinks about how to put the entire installation together to maximize the wow factor. I can't convey through words the magical vibe that exists in our backyard. Brent kept to his time frame and cleaned up after himself and his crew. He kept us well informed of deliveries, how to prep the areas before install, and the watering protocols after install. We were so happy working with Brent. He became almost part of the family for the two weeks he was working here. I was looking for a landscape designer to help us to personalize the front and backyard of our recently purchased house. I came across Brent's website and after speaking to and meeting him, I had knew that he was the right person for our project. We have had a lot of negative experiences with contractors over the past year and as a result I was a bit skeptical and must have asked Brent dozens of questions, all of which he enthusiastically answered. He really listened to us, came up with a great design plan but was also very flexible with changes we requested. He even made last minute adjustments to the plant selections without charging us extra and gave us several free plants (including a mulberry bush for our kids). He was always very punctual for appointments and responded very quickly to all forms of communication. Transparency about cost and the process was also something I really appreciated. He designs, picks plants and does the actual installation by himself, so there are no risks of miscommunication with a third party. We now have a beautiful garden with gorgeous flowers, edible plants, herbs and tons of butterfly plants that attract so much wildlife. He created a little sanctuary for us! We asked friends to recommend someone to help us with landscaping around our new (to us) downsized cottage. We couldn't be happier that the recommendation made was to ask Brent at Knoll Landscape Design to come up with a plan. He worked with us closely in making up a plan, going through a series of more detailed iterations and improvements so we would get just what we wanted (the feel of Costa Rico from our back deck/butterflies/hummingbird/tropical foliage/flowers/lots of native plants with a sprinkling of tropical exotics). He asked what our budget would be and we gave him a figure. Amazingly he came in well below that figure including a challenging installation. Hard limestone bedrock proved no obstacle and all was completed right on schedule. Moreover my wife came up with changes/new ideas as this proceeded and he accommodated all of these changes/improvements including a few ideas of my own! We started this project back in August, 2020. After the initial walk-thru, Brent recommended just adding the jewelry and fragrance to what was a very good, but green base. He is very energetic and knowledgeable professional. He found and planted very unusual perennials, that have brought lots of different butterflies and as an added bonus, birds love their seeds. I initially started with the backyard and I loved the outcome so much, we moved to the front and side yard. Green lawn became beautiful grasses and native plants and perennials.
