Personal. Professional. Real talent. Had an amazing headshot and family portrait session with KNOPFoto! From the get go, Sascha contacts you through email or phone call and consults you on what you're looking for with your headshots. She then researches your old pictures and builds a Pinterest page with you to get an idea of the look that you're after. I'm not a Pinterest person, but I liked that I was able to bounce ideas off visual references with Sascha so that we were on the same page for the shoot date. Then it came to the big day. Not only was Sascha and her assistants friendly and hospitable, they made you feel at ease. I've been to other photographers where they talk to their assistants and you just feel like you're a fly in the wall. Not here! You're part of the family. Not going to lie, there were times where I felt self conscious with a certain look and wanted to abandon the idea and move on to the next shot. Just had new headshots taken with Sascha and I am very happy with them. So is my agent, btw, which tells you alot. She took loads of shots and I was able to choose plenty of really good ones. Wow! Sascha really knows how to make you feel special. I was on the fence between two other photographers and I was trying to be very cautious because I had a bad experience the last time I got photos and in the end I paid an arm and a leg for photos I wasn't happy with. Sascha was referred to me through a friend that got their pics taken. THIS SESSION MEANT THE WORLD OF DIFFERENCE TO ME! Sascha got the key things I asked for to show through in my shots. Which was really important to me. You don't feel rushed, She really takes her time to help you figure out your best look. I am forever grateful that my manager recommended Sascha to me. I LOVE my photos - which is a first for me! If you're an actor in LA, you know that we have an overwhelming amount of options and that finding the "right" photographer is quite a daunting task. Here are my reasons why I think Sascha is the best option: 1. Consultation/styling is INCLUDED. And I don't mean that she picks out your outfits, like some photographers do. I mean that you'll have a conversation and work on a pinterest board together to make sure that the characters/looks you need are specific and well represented so that you know precisely what you're doing on the day! This, above everything else, was the best part for me. Figuring out how to style different looks is hard!! I contemplated going to someone - separately - who'd help me do that for like $600, but it is included here. Huge. 2. She is VERSATILE. From commercial to glamour to drama, she really nails the different looks and vibes. It looks like I shot with different photographers in different settings. 3. She is an actor so she really gets it and is great at getting the right attitude from you for each look. 4. She is the sweetest and very easy and fun to work with. If there's a background or something that you don't like, no worries, just let her know. She has a ton of backgrounds to choose from and really cares about you being happy. 5. She works SUPER hard to get the lighting and everything right so that you don't have to take a million photos in each look and therefore have a million to go through when picking your favorites. Seriously, there are some that I do not need to edit because the photo was taken so gosh-darn well. But, of course, your main photos should always be edited and I've never been so happy with an editing job as I am with hers. I can't stand when photographers over edit and make your skin look like plastic, she subtly brings out what's already there making for a natural, gorgeous photo. If your anything like me, headshots make me SO anxious because they are so important to any actor and can really make or break how many auditions you get called in for. My review (and headshots) are looong overdue! What attracted me most to Sascha's photos was how clean and crisp they are. The backgrounds are simple and not distracting, so YOU stand out in the photos. When I first talked to Sascha before our shoot, she immediately put me at ease! She is so bubbly and fun to talk to! I sent her my Facebook page to get her an idea of how I really look. She understood my "type" and the roles I would be submitted for by my agent. She also listened to what I had to say and was so receptive to my ideas and thoughts. She told me the types of clothes to try on and pack for the shoot day, what looks to go for and even sent me photo samples! How awesome is that?! I felt so prepared even before my shoot started! Good vibes from the start! The day of the shoot I was so nervous! I'm embarrassed to admit how many headshot shoots I've done in the past and always felt so "eh" about the process end results. However, the makeup artist Sascha set me up with was incredible. My makeup was fresh and light and actually looked like me and how I do my makeup. I felt so pretty! lol From there, Sascha took the time to get the lighting right and to select the right colored background to compliment my outfits, skin tone and hair. She was awesome and let me look at the photos and would ask, "What do you think? I like this one, how about you?" WHAT PHOTOGRAPHER DOES THAT?! How freakin' cool. I have received MORE COMPLIMENTS on my head shots by Sascha than any head shots I've ever done. I've seriously struggled for YEARS trying to get my photos right...and I never could. I was always missing "Me" in my pictures, and my looks were never specific enough, and I also felt limited in shooting with other photographers because I could only do so many looks. Sascha shoots until you get what you want. I ended up with 6-7 distinctly different looks that somehow all showcased a different side of myself, and I never in my life have experienced that with another photographer. We shot half a day, I nibbled on snacks and candy, my makeup/hair artists was amazing, and Sascha made me feel super comfortable in front of the camera. Again, felt like I could really be myself, which I think is partially what made the photos so amazing. It sounds trite, but I couldn't recommend her more. You will use your head shots for YEARS. My acting coach began referring to my photos as "the way all head shots should look." This was my first time hiring a professional photographer for my headshots. Although it was a referral from a friend/fellow actress who held Sascha in high regard, I was still quite terrified to do the shoot. Although I am an actress, modeling is not my strong suit.
