We drove down from Tacoma to see the sites in Westport and go to the ocean. We decided to find somewhere to eat and saw Knotty Pine, we called and was told they do have dine in. We were greeted by a nice, mature lady who was "holding down the fort" all by herself....she was greeter, waitress, bartender and cook along with taking phone orders and takeout orders, I was impressed. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburger baskets and WOW it was the best hamburger I have had. I will DEFINITELY be stopping by here whenever I come to Westport and be recommending it to family and friends. We came here on a Sunday night of the Labor Day weekend. We weren't seated for a while and just decided to take an available seat ourselves. The server came in after about 10 minutes that we were seated. The server didn't bother getting us water all the while we were there. There was a band playing which to me was the only good thing of our visit. The service was very slow and lackluster. We ordered popcorn shrimp and garlic chicken wings. Food didn't arrive for about an hour when we went to enquire about it - another server came in asking if we had ordered anything. Food came in about ten minutes after that. Overall, our experience was not good at all except for the live music. I don't think I will ever be back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone wanting to dine in. Would 100% not recommend. My partner and I came here because of the Bloody Mary happy hour sign we saw outside - my Bloody Mary was terrible. The place is uninviting, and uncomfortable. Soon as we walked in a man wearing a "I"m a Deplorable" shirt gave me stink eye. The waitresses weren't welcoming at all, I don't think either of them said more than 3 words to us, and there was only 8 people in the whole place when we arrived. We stopped in at the Knotty Pine Tavern today. I understand it's under new ownership since March 2016. Appearance makes it look like a dive bar. Once inside, it's very clean and has lots to offer, with many TV's, Pool and Table Board. The Bartender/Waitress was very welcoming and friendly. Her service was spot on and she took good care of us. The food was okay (The Burgers were really good. The Fries, although good, were not as hot as would be expected) Overall, I recommend Knotty Pine Tavern. The Beer is great! read more

My friends and I were visiting Westport for a girls weekend getaway. It is December so there isn't a lot happening. We decided it would be fun to stop in, have a drink, meet the locals and have some food. We walked in and everyone turned to look at us. We then sat in a booth, only to be ignored. We approached the bar only to be greeted with a very irritated bar tender. She shrugged and said she'd be with us when she could. We ended up leaving, without any food or drink. Well hello Tiffany from Ren-on!! I wanted to enlighten you on the ol' Knotty Pine just a little... First of all, The Knotty was built in 1942 and has been in full operation ever since. Yes, it may very well be slightly rough, but apparently you don't know ANY history at all where Westport is concerned. Westport thrives as a commercial fishing town, and just so happens to be one of the largest commercial fishing ports on the West coast...making The Knotty Pine, a definite fisherman's bar. The bar is open 365 days per year and only closes for four measly hours a day...making for A LOT of history. On major holidays, The Knotty Pine makes large meals to feed any customer/fisherman with no home to get to. (and trust me, there are more than one might think). All shifts are covered by ONE bartender, who also is the cook, the referee, the janitor, etc. So when the bar is busy, people kindly understand and they wait. I'd like to bet your order did not take 45 minutes...and I'd also guarantee that your b/f didn't get sick from the food. The Knotty serves meals ALL DAY, EVERY DAY and currently has NO calls to the health board, reporting illness. And as for the "disgusting" dollar bills on the ceiling...in your "45 minute wait", maybe you should have taken some time to read a few. They are years worth of memories, boats, crew, some still with us, some not, some are deceased now, and some, well...those people come back year after year to actually look for their dollars. The Knotty Pine is a little nostalgic and it's unfortunate that your closed mind didn't understand. Maybe the next time your on the beach, you should read up on Westport a little...I know that you're from Ren-on, where it's so fancy & all, but come on! The service here is rude and bizarre, with no rhyme or reason. A friend who tried to buy shots for my girlfriend and me was cut off and he and his son were forced to leave the bar. Then another friend tried to buy us a drink. He was also angrily evicted from the bar. Then we were kicked out of the bar. The kicker? My girlfriend and I had only had *one* drink each. And neither of us had ever been kicked out of a bar before. No explanation. Like duh! Plus when we ordered our food it took 45 minutes! (Okay, it was an order for 5 people but 3 of the orders were for appetizers!) I ordered the onion rings and quietly honestly they tasted like armpit. (IF I had tasted armpit it would have tasted like these onion rings) My boyfriend got mozzarella sticks, if you can call them that, there was NO CHEESE at all. Then later that night he woke up with a HORRIBLE stomach ache and ended up running to the bathroom and....well I'll let you fill in the blank. The atmosphere in the bar is bad itself. It's dirty, the bar is little, and there are gross looking dollar bills all over the ceiling. Uh for what? No tip necessary there! Before Dave & Busters and Gameworks, there was the Knotty Pine. Old-school games, beer, mixed drinks and food all served by one bartender (be patient). And if you're lucky, you'll be there on a night that the 'SpankHer' is there too. The SpankHer is currently on a national tour but should be back at the Knotty in July 2015. read more

When other local restaurants failed to deliver (one restaurant ignored us for 20 minutes so we left, the other was out of almost everything) we came to the Knotty Pine as a last resort. We didn't have high hopes. But their burgers were delicious. Generous patties with lots of fresh veggies and great quality bacon. Service was friendly. They also had ping pong, pool tables and we spent a good couple hours playing shuffleboard. Nice low key place with lots of friendly locals and good quality food for bar food. read more
