Start with the signs outside that say "best dive bar in the PNW" and "best bloody marys in town". OK that's a stretch but it's a really good bar! You will talk to someone interesting. You will get good drinks for a good price (probably the cheapest in Westport, but I don't necessarily pay very close attention). Bartenders are awesome. Update: I came back 7 years later, married now, with my husband. We stopped in not planning to stay long until the owner, Mark, came over to chat with us. We sat with Mark for hours chatting about life, the bar business, cooking, marriage, kids and everything else. Mark has owned the bar for 10 years and told us his story of buying it and caring for it. Mark is a fisherman in Alaska, so if you get the fish, know that he has prioritized the best catch for your fish and chips. Get the cod two ways! They make it fried with a Mack and Jacks beer batter as well as grilled with an herb butter. Himself the Husband and I had it both ways - both divine. We just moved to Westport from Wyoming and we thought we'd grab a quick drink here. My husband ordered a Bloody Mary which he loved and I'm a basic B and ordered a glass of boxed Merlot (awesome!) I ordered takeout here the other night while staying at a nearby hotel with our dogs. The woman who took my order by phone was nice enough. My husband ran inside to pick it up. When he came out, I asked about the vibe, and he said "Kind of a dive bar, neighborhood-type place. Pool table, football on the TVs, neon beer signs, and the menu was handwritten in chalk." I got garlic wings and my husband got a BLT with tots. The garlic wings were pretty good. Garlicky (I'm not complaining) and a lot of butter. I stuck a few leftover wings in the hotel fridge, and I'm not going to lie, the fridge smelled pretty garlicky the next day and there was a little inch of congealed butter or oil on the bottom of the box. My husband reported that his BLT was "maybe the best BLT (he) ever had." That's pretty high praise! I didn't try the BLT but I snagged a few tots and they were delicious - nice and browned to a crisp. Five stars for what it was, good tavern food! Quick, hot, and hit the spot. We didn't ask if the tavern was dog friendly, otherwise, we might have gone back to hang out, but we did hear that they had live music the next night which happened to be New Years Eve. read more

This place was our first evening out in Westport. Partly chose it because of the hours and also because of GAMES! We had a fun evening here, had tots and wings (a recurring theme if you follow my reviews) and we had a blast playing a rousing round of ping pong!! The place wasn't o early busy but it seemed they only had one bartender/waitress so she was HOPPING! Super friendly. My big ding comes from this: they were all out of Chardonnay and had only a Riesling as a second option. What? No other white wine, even if it's a box 'house wine.' I opted for a red instead of a mixed drink, and it was ok, but I was quite disappointed to not have a white option. Oh well...as we like to say 'you can't buy what they don't have!' Add in all I would go back for the games and to try some more food options. I'll call ahead for the wine tho!! read more

This place is cool. They have a free phone charging station, ice cold shots, and great food. The cod burger here is in my top two best fish burgers I've ever had. Stopped in for Bloody Mary's and lunch. We sat at the bar and got two good Bloody Mary's and that was it. The bartender never even once made eye contact with us as we sat right in front of her waiting to order our lunch. She took other orders and completely ignored us. Finally got up to leave and pay for our drinks and she asked if we liked our food. I said no, we never even got to order anything. Absolutely the worst service! After a morning of beachcombing we were a couple of hungry hippos. Saw the reviews for the tavern and decided a burger sounded good. Walking in it was old home day for me. Exactly the kind of place I would have hung out in when I was younger. There was a couple of pool tables, ping pong, and shuffleboard. There was also a stage which I'm sure will be put to good use after the pandemic ends. There was only one person responsible for taking, cooking, and delivering orders. However she was very efficient and the service was pretty good. There was a slime ball couple that took advantage when she was in the kitchen to dine and dash. What a low move when business like this are struggling. Anyway, my burger was very good. I'd definitely come back to spend more time having fun and games with good tavern food. read more

Very cool bar and grill in Westport, WA. They have shuffle board, ping pong, pool, and TVs for watching games. They have an excellent menu of the perfect bar munchies and meals. Too bad no We ordered appetizers for our dinner; fried green beans, calamari & clams for the two of us and it was plenty!! The presentation of the food was done very nicely, it was freshly made, nice and hot and most important really tasty! It was so good we came back the next morning for breakfast and had the beer buttermilk pancakes, with blueberries and eggs over easy, and an order of over medium eggs with toast with delicious jam. Again everything was nice and fresh, hot and tasty! We even got to meet the owner Mark, how pleasant and friendly along with all of his staff Rachael, Chelsea & Kim. On Thanksgiving and Christmas they have free feast with lots of food and brisket for everybody that needs a place to have fun drink and eat. Visited from up Seattle area, we loved this place. Walked in, felt welcomed, ordered some good beverages and excellent food. Shrimp app, cheeseburger and soup. It's a dive bar in a fishing town, no doubt there! Lots of happy folks and one extraordinarily determined bartender/server who was in about 11 places at once. Kudos to her, and I hope her tips reflected it...I suspect they did. The space inside is roomy and has a shuffle board table, a ping pong table, pool table, pinball machine and jukebox, all of which were getting a workout. SHUFFLE BOARD!! There are two good bars in Westport and this one has a funny urinal. We have always had a good time playing ping pong, shuffle board or I guess pool. Good sign of a wasted life is one who excels at bar billiards. The staff is always friendly and fun. The locals are cool and seem to need a break from the norm. No not Cheers Norm. This place had pretty good reviews so my family and I went for lunch. When we walked in everyone just stared at us. The gal behind the bar (only employee we saw) didn't address us at all. When I decided to speak up and ask if we should Sit anywhere the bartender said...we're low on food and the fryer is broken. She then said..and those kids can't be in here and pointed to a small sign that said 21 and over only. What a bummer experience. We drove down from Tacoma to see the sites in Westport and go to the ocean. We decided to find somewhere to eat and saw Knotty Pine, we called and was told they do have dine in. We were greeted by a nice, mature lady who was "holding down the fort" all by herself....she was greeter, waitress, bartender and cook along with taking phone orders and takeout orders, I was impressed. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburger baskets and WOW it was the best hamburger I have had. I will DEFINITELY be stopping by here whenever I come to Westport and be recommending it to family and friends.
