Drove down there from LA to leave a deposit with one of the artists there so that we could schedule a day that I could come down and get a back piece done, whole thing was pretty fast, left him a deposit in cash with no receipt or anything and drove back to LA. I sent him a few pictures of what I wanted done and asked if he could sketch something up real fast he said sure give him a few days because he had a few pending projects, no problem I completely understand. I gave him a week and texted him again he said that night he'd have it. Sketched up, gave him another 2 days and nothing. I figured whatever he a good artist he's going to do good work. So I message home the day before asking what time I should come down because it's a 2 hour drive for me I wanted to be there on time. I work very busy hours during the week so the fact that he was willing to do it in a Sunday was super cool and I really appreciated that. But he never replied to let me know what time would work. I tried getting ahold of home few other times during the day and he completely blew me off and ignored all my messages. As an artist he does great work and I let him know that but it's not right to take peoples money and then just have no communication with them. Pretty bummed I wasn't able to get work done by the artist. read more

My experience at Knuckle Heads Tattoo was all around an EXTRAORDINARY one, Having many visits to other tattoo shops, I have never been as impressed, as I was with Louie and the KnuckleHead Shop itself. The shop was clean and sterile, with a comforting and welcoming vibe. As well as stunning artistic work on display. Louie did an INCREDIBLE job on memorial tattoos, that myself and 2 other family members received in tribute to a recent loss. Louie was patience and professional as we discussed our ideas of colors, script and patterns. He listened to our wants and PERFECTLY designed a tattoo, that we all ADMIRE, that captured the memory of our loved one with precision. I found David on Instagram and reached out to him as he advised in his bio. I set up an appointment for a very special portrait piece of my mother with David (@davidtattoo100) months in advance and he was quick and professional with his responses. David made sure my ideas were captured and strived for perfecting the vision I requested. Atmosphere at the shop was awesome and CLEAN! David was there early to prep his station and did a short consultation in person to ensure our ideas for the tattoo were the same. During the tattoo David played any music I requested, had friendly natural conversation, and kept me up to date with the progress of the tattoo as he went along. Lastly yet most important, MY TATTOO CAME OUT AMAZING! I was concerned that my tattoo may be different then his other portraits of IG because I am African American and my skin is darker BUT David had no problems putting a PERFECT portrait piece together for me. I've found the only tattoo shop I will go to for the rest of my life. All my work comes from the amazing artists at knuckleheads. Robert is my main artist, but I would let every single one of these talented artists tattoo me. A lot of my work is done in Traditional styling and Rob has very clean work, straight lines and a great eye for detail. Luis has never stopped amazing me with the awesome creativity he shows in every piece of art. The piercer Greg Carrillo does his piercings flawlessly. He put a dermal in my chest, pierced one friend tongue and smothers nose and all were straight, great work. Everyone at this shop has amazing talent and I'm glad that their art work is permanently on my body. So if you want something that will be done right and something you will be proud to show everyone, go to knuckleheads! I've personally referred 20+ people here. Hi Louie the owner well this is Jessica's mom Wendy First of all we drove from Santa Ana to get cancel 15 min before my daughters appointment!!! Bunk ass mission and yes we were pissed I'm sure anyone would!!! She booked since February and who ever booked (You, him or reception) didn't notice there was another appointment down OKAY then he still confirm in March that he had an earlier appointment 4/20 instead of 4/27 AND till didn't notice a double booking until 15 min before her 11:30 appointment when he cancel why didn't he cancel the other appointment since he did confirm 11:30 was his earliest appointment SO UNPROFESSIONAL OF HIM AND YOU FOR BEING THE OWNER BUT APPARENTLY YOU CAN RUN YOUR SHOP RIGHT this wouldn't happen anywhere else I'm sure bc booking since February I'm sure you guys would have it on a calendar if there was going to be a double booking or not!!! I've gotten tattoos and piercings here for the last 6 years and it's always great service! Val is the sole reason I continue to go there after my artist got her own studio! Val is an incredibly kind and down to earth person; shes done piercings for 2 of my children, my youngest brother and my own. My kids absolutely adore her as do I. I can't recommend her enough and am so grateful to have found her when I did. Shes always up for whatever crazy thing I ask for and always helps if I have an issue with jewelry or to check on how it healing if I'm unsure. Best shop I've ever stepped foot in, I personally get my tattoos done by Luis but everyone who works there is extremely talented. It's a really relaxed/ comfortable environment and price ranges are the best. I drive 2 hours from San Diego to go to this shop, I'll be relocating to Las Vegas in a few months but 100% will be driving here to continue to get work done by Luis. I sent him a couple different examples I found and then he shot me back what he came up with. His idea was spot on to what I had been thinking of. He helped me with the bump and explained aftercare very well, he's also very friendly and kind. They took me as a walk in which I appreciate greatly.
