They also sell cooked polish sausage and sauerkraut to enjoy while making your own because who wants to wait a month to taste the yummy homemade sauerkraut. You can bring your own bucket or buy one for $6. They also have a good selection of cabbage cauliflower broccoli onions and potatoes for available for purchase.

It started as a community garden for people with disabilities and today is the home of vocational training and rehabilitation for people who have suffered brain injuries. You can find their produce in local farmers markets and at the East Lansing Food Co-Op [ http://www.yelp.com/biz/east-lansing-food-co-operative-east-lansing ] as well as in local restaurants. I love everything about this place... you've got to check them out and give their wonderfully fresh and healthy produce a try. I have been standing in my kitchen eating spinach and mixed spring salad out of the bag for the last 10 minutes.

I was surprised that the produce woman sent me to ZZ's - never heard of it. We drove up and I was sure I was the fool of a cruel bougie-grocery-store joke. Nope. ZZ's is awesome, and proves that YOU CAN NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. This is the best spot we've found in the area for "ethnic" produce i.e. banana leaves, taro root, shiso, thai basil, fava beans, green almonds... I mean, the works! Not only that, they have a lot of chilies, onions, canned latin and middle eastern foods, and the only mission-style sized tortillas i've seen outside of San Francisco. If you're a serious cook you will absolutely love this place. A COOKS MUST!
