I just used Alex to fix a broken pocket door, which as many may know can be a pain when something goes wrong inside of the drywall. Alex responded quickly with very reasonable prices, and did a great job in fixing the door. He explained the work that he would have to do in a straightforward manner, which included opening up the drywall and installing stronger screws so that the track would be less likely to detach in the future. He also came back to touch up the frame when my wife requested a specific look that she wanted. In all, Alex is professional, courteous, straightforward, flexible, and very responsive. We are very happy with the work that he performed, and would definitely use him again for all types of home improvement work. We just bought a house in Woodland Hills and it had the ugliest powder room known to man. There was an ugly 1990s style dark green tile, an ugly postmodern sink. The bathroom was very dimly lit and anytime you went in there it was just sad. Originally, I had Alex over just to repair a hole in the ceiling that was caused by a leak in the roof. He did such a good job that I asked him if he would feel comfortable helping me remodel the bathroom. These guys legitimately do it all. They put in new tile, painted the entire room, put in a new vanity, wall paneling, hardwired lit mirror and added two additional outlets so I could have a smart toilet and a pendant light next to the vanity-- and this was all accomplished in like three days. (They also helped fix the plumbing problems with the new defective smart toilet.) To really appreciate the transformation you'd need to see the video, but unfortunately, all I can put on here are photos. Here are before and afters of my bathroom, roof and newly painted wall with hung artwork-- with pets for scale. He also painted over a huge chalkboard wall and hung two very large 5' x 8' framed photos and an 80 pound metal artwork in my bedroom. Not only would I hire him again, I WILL be hiring him again. STAY AWAY!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! This is the worst experience I've had with a service provider of any kind in recent memory. He came a couple weeks ago, and I asked if he could fix the garage door. He said yes. He spent several hours trying to fix. He needed a part so he said he needed to go to Home depot to buy it. He did, came back, worked some more and then said he needed to go to home depot AGAIN to get a different part. He worked for a while longer, and then said he had to go. The garage door was not fixed. And he billed me for 4 hours of time including his two useless trips to home depot. Despite all of this, I wanted to give him a chance to finish the job. We scheduled a day to come back 10 days later. I had a hard time getting in touch with him to schedule when he would arrive on the day. He ignored my first text for 3 days. Then we finally scheduled an arrival time. On the day of, he missed the window he was supposed to come in, didn't answer my texts or calls, and then an hour after he was scheduled to come he told me he had to cancel. So, I wasted $400, and two afternoons of my time, two half days off work for NOTHING. His english is terrible, which makes it difficult to communicate. His skills as a handyman were poor, and the communication was HORRENDOUS. I've had lots of positive experiences with handymen in the past, there are plenty of good ones in LA. DON'T USE THIS ONE!!!!! read more

I hired Alex to fix my mailbox, paint my front door, bathroom walls, and fix a sloppy paint edge in a bedroom that another handyman created. Alex had the best response time of everyone I contacted. He was willing to charge either by the hour or by the job. Aside from the paint which I supplied, he came with his own equipment. He worked diligently until the work was done. afterward, his cleanup was thorough. He was able to make sure I was satisfied with the work, and did a few touch ups where needed. I was very happy with the quality of the work except for the front door. It didn't turn out nicely due to a miscommunication with neither of us at fault, but Alex was willing to meet me halfway: he discounted the work and was also willing to obtain more paint and discount his price to fix it and get it right. Even when we couldn't agree on who said what, he still emphasized that he was glad to have worked with me. Professional.
