Absolutely dreadful experience, and I will never set foot in Kocourek again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I brought my 2016 Traverse in because the air wasn't working. They charged me an outrageous $322.40 just to diagnose the issue, then had the audacity to tell me it would cost an insane $1,761.19 to fix it. As if that wasn't bad enough, they also claimed I needed a new power steering pressure line for $1,625.76. Took my car to a real honest dealer, and guess what? The power steering line wasn't even a problem, and there were WAY cheaper fixes for the rear air leak. Kocourek tried to rip me. Stay far away from this place. So mad at myself for taking it there and throwing away $322.40! read more

Bought 2019 Ford F150 with 51k miles in January 2024 , with 3.5liter Ecoboost 10 speed automatic. I didn't buy any extended warranty's paid $30000.00 with personal check. I should of looked into the extended warranty truck ran great without any issues figured it would be okay. About 4 weeks after buying service engine light came on took to local shop he switched out a few hoses and pvc valve,few weeks later light came on again. Took to local ford dealer turns out it had oil leaks and leaking valve covers took 6 hours to replace intake manifold gasket valve cover gaskets all covered by Ford extended warranty or would of cost me 2000.00 and we have only driven the truck about 500 miles Fast forward to June (roughly driven 1000 miles) gets a little warm outside turn on AC and guess what it doesn't work turns out the Air conditioning compressor is shot and needs to be replaced cost $1800.00 to have compressor changed. Truck also has another issue with roof mounted GPS satellite radio antenna its not flat on the roof raised up about 1/4 inch took to ford they said looks like someone bumped a garage door with the antenna, Ive never parked it in a garage . it doesn't leak or anything but Ford quoted me $2900.00 to repair,I'm just going to leave it as. I will never buy another vehicle from Kocourek ,I've also never complained to them about any issues because i blame myself for not paying an arm and a leg for an extended warranty , BUYER BEWARE!!!! , I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALER TO ANYONE I KNOW!! read more

To be fair, I've never purchased a vehicle from them. I've only had my vehicle repaired there. Two previous appointments have been fine. In fact, I was very happy. Without getting into details, the last experience was horrible. I was lied to, and lied about to General Motors about a repair issue. They purposefully did not give me information I needed to make a decision on repairing my vehicle, only quoted me an astronomical amount to fix. THE WORST! On, December 10th I thought I was co-signing for a vehicle. It turns out that the finance manager Tom switched our names around on the purchase agreement without our consent. I'm now the borrower and she is the co-borrower. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During this whole process we were told that Ally was the ONLY financial institution that would take on our loan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mind you, my credit score was decent 650-700. However, Tom uses the borrower, who is now the co-borrower's credit score which is on the low end due to not having any or much credit at this time established. Tom told us that Ally is the one that gave us such an extremely HIGH interest rate and that he was able by using my credit score bring it down a %. That is a LIE! Having a credit score that I did, on average should have been about a 13.72-14.00% interest rate. For someone who has a 601-660 and is getting a new car loan it should be on average 9.73%. Not the case. I'm not sure YET, what Ally's interest rate was for us however, Kocourek's markup should have only been about 1-2% higher. Instead, I was told they brought it down a %. That is strange. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Well, when I was finally able to get a copy of my purchase agreement for a refinance attempt, Kocourek would not release it to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On that purchase agreement Kocourek charged us $21,000 in interest. Yes, our interest rate was 21.79%. Ally gave me a 22% interest rate on a car loan. Come on... I was NOT born yesterday. I did not do the interest calculation in my head the day that I signed the agreement. I do not recall seeing the form showing me the entire amount of interest that would be added to the retail car price of the vehicle. (Lot price) Looking at the purchase agreement that was sent to Ally, it was electronically signed by Kocourek. Wasn't even my signature. Great! I'm paying for two vehicles and only receiving one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you try to get the questions, you're asking for, the person in question will ignore you and have their underdogs contact you and jerk you around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've heard a great one Dave! My purchase agreement is across town at one of their other branches stored away in the back and nobody is allowed to go in there. Everything is ELECTRONIC!!! Tom claims that the transaction was completed within legal standards and Kocourek standards. "Within" legal standards. Just barely. They found a loophole. I'm sure if a lawyer investigated them thoroughly this company would be audited and shut down immediately. Imagine all the people they have scammed and are currently scamming. So, what is a dealer reserve. Dealer Reserve in the car dealer industry refers to the difference between the lowest interest rate a lender approves a car loan for, and the highest interest rate that the car dealer can trick a customer into paying. It is a kickback paid to car dealerships by finance companies for bringing in new customers. The dealer reserve is the amount due to a dealer with respect to a receivable wherein the borrower is or will become obligated to such dealer in conjunction with the purchase or transfer of such receivable. I will leave you with one last side note. DO NOT purchase the SUMMIT PLATINUM PACKAGE. That is how they get you also. When you purchase this plan forget about refinancing for 6-12 months down the road. Financial institutions will NOT refinance a loan when what you owe is MORE than what the value of the vehicle is. Alrighty, I think I have said enough for one day. THINK WISELY!!! You live and learn. The worst vehicle buying experience ever. Purchased used Chevy Trail Boss and on the way home noticed the vehicle had significant foul odor and had extensive hail damage on the hood and roof (not reported). I made the fatal error of not test driving it prior to the sale due to my distance from the dealership. I test drove other Trail Bosses, so that wasn't a top priority...fatal mistake. Called the dealership the next day and said I would be bringing it back and trade for a similar Trail Boss on the lot. Went to test drive that one by salesman (Terry) said it was out but it would be back shortly. Completed the paperwork for that one with upset finance guy (Marc). After the paperwork was almost completed, sales guy comes in the the room and says the truck was sold - two weeks ago....Left the dealership and headed home. Found another truck on the lot, and made an appointment for 9:30 am to complete the sale. Showed up promptly at 9:30 and was directed to waiting area. At 10:00 Marc shows up and says nobody told him I was coming and he hadn't looked at the paperwork yet and was booked until noon. The original truck is still on the lot, so the smell must still be there. Do your homework if working with this sales group. read more

Bought a car from them and they didn't give me a temp tag , after calling over and over then they sent it but they forgot the title and never gave me a bill of sale or receipt then after a struggle it was given to me and then was a problem with the title and needed help fixing it so I called and called they refused to help and finally received a call with from the manager and with all the arrogance in the world he was yelling, upset and said they can't help , truth is he doesn't want to help. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership ever. Payment packed my deal on my new truck back in April with a $4,000 non GM warranty without telling me it was included in the price. The deal got done and then figured out what they did. Luckily was able to get the deal redone. In November, I had purchased a 2013 used Chevy Cruze from Kocourek Chevrolet. The car was supposedly thoroughly checked over and was in solid condition. The car had 106,000 miles on it. Admittedly, i didn't purchase an extended warranty. I was paying over $8000, and the warranty was fairly pricey. I also felt I could trust them when they said the car was in good condition. I have had all of the regular maintenance done, and have taken care of the vehicle. Now, at 113,000 miles, the engine is in need of replacement with low compression, and oil blowing by the piston rings. Also, the transmission needs to be rebuilt. I contacted the dealership, and they said they could do nothing for me because it was after the 30 day period of my vehicle purchase. I understand that not every problem is foreseeable, but how could all of this be missed? In my opinion, I would be very cautious about buying a used car from this dealership. I question how well this car was inspected before selling. read more

I went to Kocourek for an oil change and tire rotation. I was impressed. Service I requested was done, they inspected everything and didn't recommend fixing things that didn't need fixing, unlike some other dealerships I have been to (namely the Wausau Honda dealer). They asked if I wanted my truck washed. They washed it and even used ArmorAll on the tires. Did I say I was impressed? Maybe they treated me well because I was there with a $100 credit from GM issued to me because of the very poor service I got from the GM dealer located 15 miles north of Kocourek on Hwy 51. Regardless, I was very, very satisfied with the professional, quality service at Kocourek. I wish I had bought my vehicle there instead of the crappy dealership mentioned above. read more

I would like to thank Greg Reissmann at Kocourek in Wausau, WI he is a service advisor. I have had to take a company few vehicles in for oil changes and a recall on a seat-belt. He has always been professional, friendly approachable, and accommodating to appointments. It is nice to see a familiar face. Although I haven't been there to many times he remembers me & the company and always opens the door to a nice waiting area they have if you choose to wait of a nice gentleman who will take you to wherever you need and pick you up as well. My visit was a fluke. My past experiences with Kocourek have been outstanding. I was contacted by Kocourek to tell me it was time for an oil change. I made the appointment, but when I got up there, I was told my levels were still good and I could go another 1500 miles before it would need to be changed. I agreed to come back, as this oil change will be the last under my scheduled maintenance. So, not too happy about driving up from Plover to Wausau for nothing, but Molly saved the day as she always is wonderful and cheers me up. She's definitely and asset to Kocourek Chevrolet! read more

I bought a truck from them last month. I was told that there was nothing wrong with the truck when i bought it. I was told that the only work they did on the truck was removed the running boards. I drove 2 hours in to look at the truck and was told over the phone that it had minor surface rust on the rocker panels ($1500 later, it actually needed the cab corners and rockers replaced but this I knew when I bought the truck). This morning I brought the truck in to get new tires put on and find out that I need to replace the tie rods, pittman arm and idler arm. The window checklist indicated that the truck did not need any of these items. While at their dealer to purchase the truck I had the pleasure of being yelled at by one of their accountants, because I was told over the phone that if i got there right away in the morning I would have plenty of time to get the deal done. After going on a test drive the accountant came over and began telling me that there was "no way" he would have time to complete the deal that day. I simply asked why they didn't tell me this over the phone and if it would be possible to meet somewhere to complete the paperwork, for some reason he started getting pissed off with me telling me that "it was my problem". It seemed like he was being overworked by the dealer and was taking it out on customers. The only reason he stopped is because one of the managers walked over and told him to go to his office. After calming down I still decided to buy the truck (also because they told me that he would have nothing to do with my sale, while reviewing my paperwork I discovered this wasn't true). They also said that they can absolutely driver the truck to my house and bring the papers there, so they weren't sure why he was telling me this. Just me but if I witnessed someone that worked for me treating a customer the way he did, I would walk them out immediately and severely apologize to the customer. After owning the truck I have also noticed many smaller things that they could have and should have disclosed. Altogether I have put over $2500 into the truck since I bought it not including the front end work that it needs. I would avoid this dealer at all cost unless you're planning on putting money and time into your purchase. For the record I paid over $11,000 for the truck. read more

I have been going to Kocourek for many year. I have had bad service with my car for a while now. When you walk around your vehicle when you drop it off, just to let you know it doesn't matter. They will not fix it and say it was going to happen. For the past couple of time's I have been there I left with more repairs than I came in with because of the service I have gotten. They do not follow up with you at all and give you a run around. I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu and It is NEVER going to them again. You should proceed with caution because they may cause you to pay more money then you should. They also just lost a $35,000 sale. Mike Wasmudt & Marc Levy always take care of myself & my family. I have been buying vehicles from them since 2009 & just got another brand new suv today. Do I sometimes get annoyed with they guys in the garage? Absolutely! However, I've never been screwed over or treated poorly by Mike nor Marc. Are some of the people in the service department on my crap list? For sure! But you can't fix stupid and you can't blame a dealership on certain stupid individual's mistakes. I am grateful for the service these two always provide me, and it's pretty cool that when I see them in public they know me by name & always give me hugs!!! Absolutely worthless service department. I was driving through the area and started having car trouble. I was desperate since the day was running late and I was more than 2 hours away from home. They told me to bring my car in with the expectation that they would fix it. When I showed up the service person could have cared less about my situation and and was giving me a smirky look. He didn't seem to care one bit that I was stranded in the area. So instead I got on the phone and called Midas. They told me to bring my car over right away and they got me in immediately and fixed it within an hour. If you're having car trouble or just need general repairs, I would not recommend this dealership in a million years. I don't typically write reviews, but as I gave Kocourek Chevrolet General Manager Greg Jensen plenty of opportunity to do the right thing and they literally refused, I feel obliged to follow up on my promise to them that I would share my negative experience. If you are going to buy from this dealer, please get everything in writing. If they make a promise to you, it is not worth the breath coming out of the mouth of the salesperson (no matter how sincere they may be). The management will not stand by their word, no matter how obvious the situation. Either buy elsewhere or GET IT IN WRITING. Don't assume they are making notes of your situation, because that is for show. Make sure you see everything you've agreed to in writing before you buy. Here is my specific experience. I bought a $15k used vehicle over a holiday weekend. First, my salesman was brand new. I was his first sale. I was actually glad at the time, because he was nice, and it felt good to help him out by being his first commission. The vehicle was great during the test drive, but the DVD player would not power on at that point. The remote didn't have batteries, and the salesman felt that was probably the issue, and the service department was closed, so they couldn't look at it. He and the finance manager promised that if there ended up being an issue, they would take care of it. So, after a week or so, we tried batteries but the system would still not power on. I attempted to contact the salesperson over the next few weeks to no avail. I finally contacted the finance manager who informed me the salesman had quit and went back to his old job. He had a customer service rep contact me, and we discussed the issue and said I could schedule to bring it in at some point, but at no time was I told there was a time limit. A factory recall came in for the vehicle, so I decided to have it looked at when they replaced the recall item. I articulated that to the person I set up the appointment with, and everything seemed fine, until I arrived for my appointment. There was no record of the issue with my DVD player. I was then told that too much time had passed (3 months total), and they not only would not correct the problem, they would charge me just to diagnose the problem. Needless to say I was less than happy. I had them diagnose the problem (it cost me $125 for them to do nothing more than look at it), which according to them, turned out to be an issue with the factory radio/dvd/navigation system. This would cost $1,100 for the part and they couldn't tell me the cost of installation. Of course I have no intention of spending any more money with this dishonest dealership. I sent an email with the same details in this review to the General Manager Greg Jensen, and was totally ignored. Please do not expect quality service AFTER THE SALE. This will eventually catch up with them, but only if we spread the word. read more
