Check blue book on any car on lot and it is at LEAST $4000 higher and even 8000 higher than its worth. Thay are no better than any other pay here auto place. Said they would run my credit check on my 2nd visit but the paper I was shown was dated the first day I was there. I had not given permission to run it!! Then they wanted $5000 down and the car was over priced 6000 offered low end trade on my vehicle never told me what the interest rate was though I asked at least 6 times. I can buy the same car new for 3000 more than they were asking for a 4 yr old car and with 5000 down and a trade I would be approved at a reg dealer. I don't have 5K to put down...duh. To top it all off I am now getting letters from numerous loan places stating I was denied when I refused their offer. They also state too many inquiries which I never authorized multiple applications!! My credit is ok but they trashed it submitting it to a slew of loan companies! Took it to Honda and they found out that the whole car has been totaled and put back together illegally. The front end of the frame was all welded back together so badly he said if I would have bumped into another car or something at 5 mph the front end would have fallen off! I have 3 children and these people just let me drive his car off the lot! I had to go through hell to have the state make them pay off the car and take it back. I live in Butternut,Wi, Called Wausau location about a 2013 silverado they had on their website. Woman said "Yes, it's on our lot". So next day, I drive 2 1/2 hours to wausau to look at it. Told me on the phone also, "your trade is worth $5000 more than nada value" JUST LIKE ALL THEY'RE RADIO COMMERCIALS SAY, and NO MONEY DOWN! I get there, NO SILVERDO, not ONE on the lot! They have a different, newer, more expensive one in antigo they tell me. So he runs the credit app through, and comes back says they'll give me $500.00 trade in for my 2003 silverado! I went to Wausau Auto sales on 7/11/18 looking for a van as I needed a vehicle so I could transport my power wheelchair. Before I ever went to look at anything I explained my financial situation, what I was willing to pay and what price range my payments had to be in. Was taken out on a test drive in a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. Short story could not get approved to buy it. I said that I would like an older Dodge van with reasonable mileage and price and that I had seen one advertised at another dealership that was a 2014 Dodge Caravan with stow and go seats and 76,000 miles. was told that it was a bad dealership and also a rip off place. I was given the story that they would not finance an older van. To make a long story short I ended up with a 2009 Dodge Caliber auto with more miles than I wanted. It is physically very pretty and so far runs like a champ and is reasonable on gas. I am taking it to my mechanic on Wednesday to have it thoroughly checked out. On their ads they say every car gets a warranty, lie, mine was sold as is no warranty. In the middle of the night I woke up around two in the morning and was thinking about this deal. If they were willing to finance an older car then why would they not be willing to finance an older van? Makes no sense to me at all and I am very disappointed about this as I really need the van due to having a wheel chair. I traded in a pickup because I had no way to take the wheelchair so now I am in a debt but still can not take my wheel chair. I just hope that the car I bought checks out as A ok or they will be hearing from me and it will not be nice. I really like the car but it is not what I truly wanted and I feel like I was ripped off all the way around since they knew up front that I needed the van but made no attempt to get me in one. I don't understand what everyone's on about... I went there fully understanding what was involved. I got a nice salesman named Tyler even though I kept calling him Travis. Of course he was giving me the full-court press but that what he's there for. I found what I was looking for. An economical 4 banger with alot of ground clearance. If I had found something and bought it from a private party and it went katy-wampus I'm back to square one. If this thing goes off it goes back to Travis and he'll straighten it out. My only criticism is I think they all should wear shiny sharkskin leisure suits in various colors. read more

what can I say about this business if i could give a 0 out of 5 stars I would. Shady, dishonest, out right lying, lying about the inventory they have, extreme pressure sales, try to be your best friend, they are the living embodiment of the "cliche" con-man cars salesman" from those 70's and 80's movies you see and laugh about. Except this is no laughing matter. While I did get a car that was nice it was not the one I wanted, It was overpriced, and clearly had some minor damage in the interior I did not want. While I did have lower credit than I would of liked, they ensured me they would get me the best deal they could get me, which started out as $200 a month, by the time I left it ballooned to $525 a month. they did everything they could to rope me in, assure me that it would be alright (down right lying to me). got me they did. I needed a car, had no mode of transportation I could of said no and walked out, but given my current situation I had little choice, and they made it seem i had little choice, like they were the best thing since sliced bread. Now, I managed to repo my car in February, because i gave up there was no was paying $32k for a $20k car. hell no! only way i could make it worth it and put as much to principle is to pay $1000 or more per month. Not happening. I gave it back, thankfully I lucked out and they managed to auction out for the same price as it shows 100% closed on my account, though i am waiting for that surprise letter in the mail for couple grand I owe. I also want to make note I got multiple hits by lenders, 5-10 of them it was obscene. why so many? were they trying until they hit pay dirt? either way my credit took a dive by 100 points because of that and just now recovering back to where i was prior. hell, I still have a good 30 or so points, but getting there due little by little. march forward maybe a year, prior to giving up my car around December/January time frame. I went in thinking hey maybe I could bring down my payments.(the credit company told me they don't do that, and that's fine, it is what it is at least they were honest and straight forward about info I needed) I went in with my fiance, asking what are out options. I shit you not! instead of telling me A) we can't do anything, and you will just have to repo your car and hope for the best during the auction, or B) yes we can, and let's see what other options we can do for you. I even tried my bank but again, just below on my credit of what would of been ideal. I shit you not instead of helping us, they instead started their insipid script and tried to sell her a Car, telling me they can't take my car, it would have to be paid for still while making a new car purchase. cue the same pressure sales bullshit "im your best friend" blah blah. until he said 'we love people like you" which triggered my "oh hell naw expression" like wow! did he just let that slip!? telling me he loves people like me? meaning he loves people he can just pressure/trick into a new car on top of the existing one. nah, i played along for a few, figured he's wasting my time I will waste his. test drove some cars, so figured I'd see what they had, we made specific requests. had nothing we wanted despite having 2-3 different variants of the class of truck,and car we wanted (again! way over priced lol). and continued to pursue this course of action for a good 2 hours. We finally gave up, and got tired of the BS and refused, and left. but the fact they tried to rope us into purchasing a car lol but on top, couldn't even help us with our original issue. lol. who the fuck does that?! seriously! Okay, I get it, I have low credit, i have to be careful but lacking knowledge, hey hindsight is 20/20. live and learn. in this case learn the hard way. I lucked out it would seem, but wow! these people are skeezy, shady, dishonest out right liars! you will over pay by an easy $10-15k. either wait for your credit to rise!, go to a reputable dealer, or buy a cheap car privately for a few grand. First off, their company does a 'bait and switch' tactic, along with the so called slogan "Everybody Rides At 199 Ride". "Bad credit, no credit--we have you covered". They guarantee customers will drive away with a vehicle or they'll give you $1,000. All of this is false; their vehicles are marked up at least 50% over Kelly Blue Book value. Next, the $199.00 down is false; we had the sales man tell us we needed to put down $1,995.00 on a 2006 vehicle and then make monthly payments of almost $350.00 a month for four years (ends up $16,500 for a vehicle worth only $5,500). September 2013 they advertised 0% interest rate on all loans--never saw that either. Remember, if it's too good to be true, it usually is. read more

This has been the worst experience that we have ever gone through. Constant phone calls, wrong information, files are empty, having to go back to Wausau for things that they said they had, more signatures that they say they need, having to constantly interrupt my fiance at his job to explain all the phone calls and emails I am receiving, we have the vehicle and we are getting asked if we are looking to buy a vehicle, we were told that we were all set to go with the financial institute and that is not true because they are still trying to get information and have a signature redone. This is not what anyone wants before the holidays. This has not been a stress-free, hassle-free or a fun experience and I will never choose 199 ride again. How on Earth do you give someone a vehicle and then have a financial institute calling you and telling you that the financing is not done? We paid the tax the title and now we get told that the financing has to be finished? Why do we have the vehicle and why have we had it for 2 weeks now if the financial part was not done? That does not make sense. Never again. Trying to get in contact with people is an absolute nightmare. read more

I had previously bought a car from them with no problems whatsoever and got a great deal. I just bought another from them and got raked over the coals. The deal was ok and the car had low miles and ran great. The exterior was dusty when I bought it and after washing the car the words "Ziplock" were all over the car. It was a fleet vehicle so I imagine they had advertising on it. First I cannot believe that they did not detail the car before putting it on the lot. Secondly, why would the seller not alert me to the fact that I would go home and once washed, see "Ziplock" on my car. Did they think I would not notice???? I called and asked if they could buff it out for me and had to fight tooth and nail to get them to agree. I called the manager to ask if the car had been finished so I could come and pick it up. He never returned my call. I had to go over to the Wausau dealership to pick it up and was told that it had been all buffed and detailed. I was leaving on a trip the following day and needed the car done. I knew when I picked it up that the inside had not been cleaned but did not have time to check out the finish on the car. NOTHING was touched on it. "Ziplock" all over the car. Do these people know the word "integrity"? I will NEVER buy a car from these dishonest people again. Question why would you tell someone they will be on the loan with their cosigner then send the said cosigner their paperwork and surprise- the 'cosigner' is the only person on the loan? So you tell me I am purchasing the car to build credit but really if I make a payment I am building the cosigner's credit. If I miss a payment, I ruin their credit and they are responsible for the loan! How is that even legal when you title the car to only me!? Unreal!! Then another kicker the bluebook value of the car is a little over 14,000$ after what I would pay it would be a 28,000$ purchase!! I do NOT think so. Went to Wausau Auto (199 ride.com) after a phone conversation with the dealer. Told him the vehicle type, year, model, and the amount of money we were willing to spend. Was told we have several vehicles on the lot as we described which surprised me because I didn't see any on their website inventory so questioned again and was told many to choose from (I was very specific 2014-2016 Chev Truck). Got to the dealer driving through a snow storm and didn't see any on the lot, but went inside. First guy we spoke to sat us down and asked all kinds of questions about what we were looking for, credit information, wanted social security number, act. Mentioned we have the cash to pay for the vehicle in question, don't need financing, and would like to look at the many vehicles that were on the lot that were promised. The salesman said he wasn't the one we talked to (he had the desk on the left, second from the back of the showroom/office). Then proceeded to ask same questions again about financing. Finally said we are looking for a certain vehicle in a certain price range which we were told they had many to choose from on the lot. he mentioned they had one, but it was older and looked like someone painted it with a spray can. NOT what we were looking for. Then he checked his inventory (but couldn't bring it up on his computer) and went into the front office and closed the door with several other salesman. Came back out and again mentioned financing. I stopped him and asked if he had any vehicles, and he showed me he had 2 vehicles written on a note pad. He said he didn't have any pictures but could get some. I asked him if they actually had the vehicles and he didn't answer, so I proceeded to tell him I was dissapointed with their sales tactics and left. I have never had a more NEGATIVE experience than this one, and would not recommend using this dealership unless your credit is so bad no one else will accept you. If you have good credit or a good downpayment, steer clear of these dealerships and DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. They may a dealer for the people, but from what I can tell, it's people they can prey on that have no where else to turn. read more
