My car wouldn't start and I had to call a service to come and jump start my car, however, he was unable to. He recommended I call the closest dealership which was 51 miles away because I live in the boonies. I talked to Lawrence the service manager who gave us a few things to try so I didn't have to pay so much for a tow. He was so pleasant. In the end those things didn't work. I called him back a couple days later and he remembered me. I did have to have my car towed to Kocourek Nissan in Wausau. This was the Thursday the week prior to Thanksgiving and I had plans to travel to my daughter's house in Illinois on Tuesday. Lawrence kept me updated and pushed my service up and had it fixed and ready to go in time. He was wonderful and this was the second time I've used Kocourek and both times was 5 star service. I have tried numerous times to get my Rogue or Pathfinder in for service. The service dept never answered. I finally had to go on and personally get a appointment for a recall. I know they do not answer as I was waiting calls were sent back to the Dept and no one picked up a call. Today was the last straw. Gave them one more chance. They never picked up. read more

Kocourek has screwed us from the first day we bought our cars. we bought two in one day, got sucked in to their warranty which paid for itself in the first three months with all the problems we had with the cars . After a year and a half we finally had enough. car is still breaking down and now here we are $13000 underwater, the warranty is up and this place isn't willing to do anything to rectify the situation.... will never buy a car from them again or send anyone I know there.. they know the car is a lemon, tech admitted to it.. least they could do is meet us half way.. read more

I bought a car in September 2023 from Kia of Wausau, after I traded my 2021 Kia Telluride SX prestige NF, I was told I would get 2 keys by my sales person and the finance manager, I had to go out of town after the deal was settled that day so I accepted that I would get a call when they received the key from Audi of Wausau, cause it was a transfer through the kocourek dealerships, I never received a call, I actually had to call them at least 3 times and never received my key I was promised that came with the car, I am now being told after 3 months of waiting with no response that there is no second key, and it was the sales persons mistake for telling me I would get a second key, key fabs are very expensive, and I would have excepted having been told the truth from day one that there was only 1 key, but I was told there was 2 and it was coming from the Audi store in rib mountain. I would appreciate it if someone would do a very loyal do diligence and get my second key I was initially promised. Ok, here we go. I bought a 2022 Jeep Compass from them in January 2024. The vehicle was stuck in valet mode (sets limits on what you have access to and features of the car), unbeknownst to me since it was already running when I went to test drive it and also when I took it home. They gave me an aftermarket key fob which didn't have the features that were described to come with the car i.e. remote start. For this I would have to pay the Jeep app for a subscription to the tune of about $22 a month. Nonsense! I ended up taking it to a local Dahl dealer and they worked on my behalf to resolve the issues. Had to replace the entire radio in the car as there was no way to reset it and take it out of valet mode. They also got me an actual Jeep key fob so now I have my remote start like I was originally supposed to have at purchase. Fast forward to today, I have an oil leak. Again, took it to my local Dahl dealer. They tell me rather then using a certified Mopar oil filter when they changed the oil they used a cheap Carquest oil filter and the seal has failed which is why it's leaking oil. So now I have to pay for a synthetic oil change which is not cheap due to their cheap incompetence. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! They will pressure you to leave with the car and then be difficult to work with to repair issues that the car shouldn't even have been sold with in the first place. And then the salesman has the nerve to ask me to write a review for them. Well guess what, here it is! I cannot recommend Dahl Auto enough! They stood up for me and helped me fix all of these issues when Kocourek did not. read more

I contacted sales rep to confirm the new 2023 had the new interest rate of 1.9. He said yes because still considered new due to no miles. I said great and that I'd be there in a couple hours. I made the 1.5 hour trip as did my sister & brother-in-law because I needed someone to drive my old vehicle home. once there I asked the sales rep again if I was getting the new vehicle interest rate and at that time he said I'd get the best rate available. Only after getting into their loan officers office was it revealed my rate would be 6.9%. I showed them their web photo that showed 1.9% on the 2023 Pathfinder and also the email confirmation. They said "mistakes happen". And also kept telling me they were already losing money on the deal. I truly feel they knew all along and were hoping I'd be so excited to get a new vehicle that I'd just sign. Instead, I walked away and will never go back nor recommend them. read more

The dealership - led by Jon Strande (General Manager) - loves playing games with customers, tries to sell cars that are not currently available and have pending offers on them, and fails to reach out to you and respond to messages when left. We were told "Unfortunately, the new vehicle market can be difficult to navigate" when we questioned why the car we were contacting them about (after THEY REACHED OUT TO US TO PURCHASE IT) was actually a sold vehicle! They offered no further explaination, apology, or response when questioned on the matter. I don't deal with slimy dealerships - and Kocourek (and Jon) has proven a slimy dealership. I will be purchasing elsewhere and hope you all do, too. read more

I bought a new car at Kocourek recently. So glad I went there! Mike Russ helped us pick the car that was perfect for me. I loved that everyone there was extremely helpful without being pushy. My husband and I had looked at the same car at another dealership and since then they have been texting us with their "best price" for that car. They couldn't even come close to the original price we were given at Kocourek. It was refreshing to walk in and be treated like our time mattered. Edited: I was happy with them initially, but I've come to discover that they only stick their necks out to help when it involves them taking your money! They won't fix finance issues two or three months after the sale that were SUPPOSED TO BE ADDRESSED AT THE TIME OF SALE. They led us to believe that we were getting out of our lease penalty free at the time of sale, until about 2 or 3 months later we get a bill from Nissan "for end of lease liability". I've leased several cars before and a couple early outs and NEVER encountered a surprise bill month later. Had we known there would be a surprise bill coming we would of either rolled it into the lease payment, or simply chosen NOT to get out of the lease early. They won't help us, and Nissan won't flex with us, either way we are fucked! I'll never do business with Kocourek again!!! We leased our Nissan Altima from Kocourek in 2014, but now in 2016 we were beginning to be over our miles allotted and the lease was not done yet for another 6-7 months. We worked with DJ. He was courteous, patient and professional! He was able to get us out of our lease early with no penalties, and get us into a vehicle we REALLY wanted/needed and negotiated a payment with the finance department that was better than "it should have been". Our payments were a bit higher than before though, but the vehicle we chose was bigger. We love our new Kia Sedona LX! read more

Went to explore, just look around and test drive to get ideas of what I wanted. Talked with a salesperson who was very knowledgeable but very cliche/stereotype salesman and very pushy. Put money down to reserve a potential interest after being convinced that if I decided against the vehicle, that the refunding process would be simple and quick. This wasn't the case. It took several conversations over the course of about 8 business days to get my money back. What's the worst part for me, from the moment me and my fiancee started talking with this sales person, my (male) fiancee was the one being talked to about the fine details, the mechanical conversation, and I (the female) was ONLY talked to about how cute, how comfy, and the cliched 'girly things'. However, we stated SEVERAL times that the new vehicle was for me and the kicker...that my fiancee knows very little about cars and I know a fair deal about them. Overall, I hadn't heard good things of Kocourek but it was local, I like to form my own opinions, and each person is different. I am just saddened that what I heard was true. My wife and I were seriously considering a new 2019 Nissan Frontier pickup at Kocourek of Wausau. We spoke with Jennifer Krug who was cordial and pleasant initially. It soon became quite clear that she is the product of a very structured high pressure marketing process. We rarely got a direct answer to any question...in fact most of her answers/statements seemed to be pre-scripted. She was not very well informed on the functions and accessories of the vehicle we were dealing on as well. We felt like we were not being taken seriously at times.The sales manager acted as though he had better things to do than to bother with us. Jen repeatedly stated we were dealing with the largest retailer of vehicles in north central Wisconsin...and that should be of great value to us. On a second visit and after a second test drive we finally got their price. After some negotiation it was still as high as a better equipped new Frontier the Nissan dealer in Stevens Point (Van Horn) was advertising. We walked out and my wife urged me to drive down to Point. We got there within an hour of closing. Totally different atmosphere. Got direct answers to our questions. By 5:00 pm the deal was made. Got a better equipped truck for no extra money. Sorry Jen, we liked you but being the biggest doesn't necessarily mean you're the best. read more

I bought a used Kia from Koucerek in Wausau around March. I have had to take it back several times for different issues (3 times in first 3 weeks and 2x since). I won't get into the previous visits, but this last one really put me over the edge. One of the selling points of the car was a 3rd row pop up seating. I have been having trouble with the 2nd row seat latch catching and the seat sticking. I had them look at it about a month ago and they said it was fine. Last week it stuck for good. Took it back in, they tell me it would cost me $670 (New mechanism + at least 3hrs labor). A cable was disconnected and even if they didn't put in a new mechanism, the labor of reattaching the cable would be more extensive and still cost about as much. I was angry, but need more than half a back seat. So, I made an appointment for this morning. Saturday, a friend confirmed the cable was disconnected, but the mechanism was fine and that the cable would cost $21. Sunday my ex, having never worked on a Kia and with everyday tools, not only diagnosed the problem, but reconnected the cable in less than an hour. Today, I called Kia and calmly expressed my disappointment in the service. Now, I didn't expect them to write me a big check or beg for my forgiveness. But an apology may have went a long way. Instead, he sat silent on the phone, then said thanks for letting us know and hung up I'm typically a pretty understanding customer. But this is not acceptable in any way...none of it. The only saving grace to this experience of purchasing this vehicle was my sales person, Mike Russ. He is always pleasant and makes time to check in with me when he sees me in service, which has been way too often. read more
