Another great experience from Olson Tire and Auto. My regular tires were wearing out and the dealer said it was responsible for the "vibrating." The the dealer provided a number of options. I did a fair amount of additional research and then went to Olson. They provided four great options. All would need to be ordered and would arrive within 3-4 days. I also went to a big chain tire store. The chain provided two of the same options that Olson had. Olson was way less than the dealer (of course) and their price for the exact same tire was less than the chain tire store, as well. Brought the car in today. Received a loaner. They found an issue with the tire pressure monitor (which has been an issue with my car). They diagnosed it and tried a couple of things. It appears to be fixed. The diagnosis and "fix" did not cost a thing. The best place in Wausau for tires and auto service. Also, their body shop is top notch! read more

This 1 Star is being kind, 1.5 hr rd trip from out of town, thought I would give them a try purchasing 4 new tires for my granddaughters xmas present. After waiting a 1/2 hr they come and tell me they don't have the tires for my car. I made this appointment 2 weeks ago, I asked didn't you verify you had the tires in stock that you needed to install. They replied NO. But they would be happy to sell me a different set for $65, more. Schierl or Pomps said they would match the price. Discount Tires Beat it by $20. I will report on how this turns out. read more

They were nice and helped me understand what the problem was and then fixed it by the end of the day no problem! My dad is elderly so I was assisting him with getting service for his vehicle. This store did a great job in evaluating and laying out all of the issues that needed attention on my dad's 2012 Chevy Malibu. It allowed us to plan his budget for what needed to be done now vs. what could be tabled for the future. Evan was very helpful in explaining it would take three days (so they had to keep the car two overnights) to execute all repairs (brakes and radiator replacement). All of the staff were very cordial and they kept us informed as to the repairs progress (since certain parts had to be ordered and shipped in). They probably were not the cheapest for this service but I'd choose them again due to their good communication and honest assessment. read more

Long wait time, a disrespectful staff member, untrustworthy technician, high price, no car wash as promised, and no compensation for any of it except a rain check car wash that I had to ask for. Arrived 15min before scheduled appointment (alignment with only toe adjustments on my car) told service writer no under hood inspection only under car and that car was was ok. Was told it would take hour, hour an a half with inspection and car wash. Ok great. Now 1.5hr after my appointment time im approached and notified about my under car inspection. They informed me of what was wrong asked if I wanted to fix it today or come back later. I opted to have the alignment and come back to have it repaired and realigned. 30 min later i get the keys back I have to ask to see alignment printouts when they should have went over that with me. Then i ask why it took an hour and a half to do an under car inspection and was told thats how long it takes to check 100 points. Thats a 15min job at another shop. Then im looking over the inspection sheet and notice it states broken oil dipstick. That's under the hood where I told them specifically not to inspect aslo also written on the service sheet. No trust there. I asked if they would compensate any for having to wait 2hrs for a 1hr job and not following the no under hood inspection order. They refused. I regretfully paid the $97.53 told them I would not be returning for further service. I was left with a mear "im very sorry". I find my car then see it was never washed! At this point im ferrous and confront a different counter person. Explained to him I had a terrible experience told him everything that happened. I get a rain check car wash and was refuse any monetary compensation. He did not ask how he can make situation right. I explained I went there because of good work of mouth and reviews and that I will not be returning or refering anyone else to go there. As I was telling him I was going to leave negative reviews he turned his back on me and walked away. Bottom line take your business elsewhere. read more

I'll give Olson tire 5 stars even though I have never been there because the previous review by Hh8 doesn't make sense. They give 1 star because they were too busy to fix your tire and push current customers aside? The way I look at it they helped you diagnose the problem free of charge. So if you go to get food and the restaurant tells you they can't serve you because they are closing, is that their fault too? read more

Several years ago I ran over something in the road by the Wausau Mall. I pulled in to Olsen as the service tech was shutting the overhead door to the garage. He advised me they were closing but could give me some air to get me somewhere else to get repair on tire done. Really, you guys lost a sale on 4 new tires totaling $1400 ELSEWERE ! This business rocks when it comes to excellent customer service!!! About a year ago not one, but three of my tires on my leased BMW blew out, and a wheel was damaged after supposedly going over some potholes, a $1500 expense. (I learned the hard way that low profile tires are prone to this happening.....would have been nice if I would have been advised of this when I bought the car). Based on information given to me by the dealership I purchased the car from, I was told by a service person there, that when I had to replace the one original tire, and because as it was an all wheel drive vehicle, that all four tires, including the three new tires, would have to be replaced at the same time. Here's where the great customer service from Olson Tire comes in. As I had about 17,000 miles on the one original tire, I had them order four new tires, and took my car in today to have them replaced. About 20 minutes later I got a call from Dylan, one of the mangers there, advising me that there was enough tread on the original tire, and based on my annual mileage I was accumulating, would be more than enough to last me through the lease. Dylan's advice prompted to call the dealership once again, and I spoke with a Service Manager who informed me that if the original tire would have to be replaced at the time of turning the car in, I would only be billed for "one" tire, even though all four would have to be replaced. If the tech at Olson had not consulted with Dylan on this, I would have replaced four tires at and out of pocket expense of around $1100.00!!! This action on their part will be saving me roughly about $900.00, assuming the original tire has to be replaced. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to the team at Olson Tire. In these days where auto repair and tire shops get bad press for performing unnecessary maintenance or repairs, this business sets the bar for others. Again, THANKS!! read more

Horrible customer service! Staff are very rude and do not admit to mistakes! First time they worked on my vehicle they forgot to do a tire rotation. Ok give them. Second shot. Today they were "too busy" to call and inform me that my vehicle would not get worked on due to that employee calling sick. I had to call them to see when my vehicle would be done. No apologies, no offer to reschedule the appointment and no attempt to recover customer service! The men behind the counter were rude! I would never recommend this place. Horrible read more

My wife was out running errands and stopped by Olson Tire to have them look at and repair a leaky tire. Olsen (owned and operated by Ken Olson) looked at the tire and said there's a mail in it and is leaking slowly. Olsen told her bring it back tomorrow at 1230 that they were too busy to fix it. My wife left and took it to a different shop (Thunder Lube) where the looked at it, repaired it and it was paid for all in 20 mins. Shame on you Ken Olsen!! Usually quite happy but not recently. Had my snow tires taken off and all weathers put on. The next day sensor read low pressure check on both left side tires. Drove to gas station to use air and removed the cap off one tire and the whole tire valve stem blew right off...had to change the tire. Tried to fill second tire but could only get 4 more pounds of pressure for total of 19...needed 34. Limped back to the shop to have them repaired. The reason behind my tire valves deterioration was "Wisconsin winters are hard on tires." What? You stored my tires over the winter...maybe your storage facility is not a good place to keep my tires. Needed 200 more dollars to replace the sensors and valve stems. For a company that specializes in tires I would have expected more. read more
