I give it zero stars. I went in a little over a week ago to get a pair of shoes that were on sale. I didn't see any on the sales floor so I looked online and it showed they had 2 pair in my size. Great. I could find no one in ANY department to try and get service in shoes. I saw 2 people working the check out area but no other employees and I did 2 full laps around the store. So I called and left a complaint which I'm sure had great effect. That was sarcasm in case you missed it. So just now I thought I'd give them another chance. I called the store directly and my call was sent to someone in shoes. Great again. After a 5 minute wait a very helpful person took the information about the shoes (online said they still had the 2 or) and she said she would go make sure they were there and I would hold. 10 minutes later I get customer service again and I said I was holding for someone in shoes. She was talking but evidently to someone else because I couldn't understand her, but she eventually got back on the phone and asked for my name and number someone would call back. I declined her offer. They made what should have been a simple transaction for $68 into a pain in the butt purchase for $85 ( the sale is over of course) but I guess it doesn't matter because it's NO SALE period and there would have to be a very compelling reason for me to ever shop at Kohl's again. There's at least 5 other stores in the area that also have the shoes for $85, I'm going to try one now. read more

The young gal helping me was still learning. I asked her a question that she was not familiar with. The Supervisor right next to her was very helpful. She was very patient with the new employee and answered all my questions quickly and throughly. This was an okay Kohls location. Most Kohl's stores are relatively similar, and this one is no different. There was a decent selection of clearance items, and I was surprised to find that there was quite a bit of Christmas clearance left (when I was there in March). The store itself was pretty clean. Everything was organized relatively well, but there were a couple items out-of-place - that's pretty standard in retail, though. It was easy enough to find what I was looking for, and the bathrooms were spotless. Everything I was hoping to find was in-stock, and everything was easily priced and wrung up correctly at the register (including my clearance purchases). My only complaint was the check-out time. It was horrendously bad. I easily waited over 15 minutes. It wasn't a complete lack of employees, though. They opened up 2 extra registers once the line kept growing, but when the new lanes would be opened, the employees would privately ask the last people in the current lines if they wanted to move to the new lane, so it ended up not helping those who had been in the line the longest. The employee was nice enough once I finally did get to check-out, though, and she wrapped up my glasses and everything in paper to help protect them for the ride home. It doesn't seem like this check-out problem is a regular occurance, so I'll still be okay coming back to this store in the future. read more

I came in here to get a gift for my nephew's wedding. They had most of the gift suggestions still available. They had a very hard time trying to get the gift as being marked off from the list though, and after well over 30 minutes, we finally got the thing taken care of. Late night for me. Thy have a very nice selection of gifts and merchandise here. The place is clean. Staff is friendly. Family friendly. Lot parking. The service desk people were very helpful. Picked up this mess of a package today through online order. I came from another town to get it! It was tightly wrapped and taped in a Kohl's sack to disguise the beaten up box. Yes I want the item inside, and it appears to be new, but I went through the store to shop for other things and they had many more of the same in much better shape. This is shameful, Kohl's Ankeny! How can you even find anything here? Everything is a mess & all over the place. Asked a cashier to check the price for me since there was just a sku on it & she rang it up instead then never checked the price. Also was never once asked if we needed help by the 10+ employees in the store except the lady behind the jewelry counter. This Kohls has really gone downhill. read more

Everything is pretty much always on sale. This location isn't much different than any of the rest. They do seem to always have what I like on stock (whether it be a size or color I'm looking for) if I can't find it at any of the others in the area. Between Kohl's cash, seeming constant % off coupons (especially if you have their credit card), and regular sales you really can't go wrong shopping here. Well, I have been shopping at Kohls since high school and this one is pretty much the same as others. They are well-stocked with all products and the staff members are helpful. Visited this store last weekend. The women's bathroom needs someone to pay attention to it's issues. There were about six stalls and three had no way of locking the doors as the locks were broken, the feminine hygene dispenser had an "out of order" sign on it, there was NO soap and the water didn't work in two basins. When we went to try on clothes later, I've never seen a filthier floor im the dressing rooms with HUGE dust balls everywhere. Didn't want to remove my shoes as it was very dirty. Does anyone know how to wetmop the floors each night? Our Kohl's allover Minnesota are extremely clean. The Manager at this store must not be paying attention. read more
