Carter did a great job on my measurements, and we tried on a number of options to get it right. Browsed different looks too. Dylan was also helpful. Pickup was simple a few days later, as I was notified with two days notice, and Johanna was terrific! Everything fit well on the night of the event, multiple compliments for my formal components, and returned it the next day as Justin made it easy. If I could give zero stars I would. No one from our wedding party will ever use them again. They were very rude and not accommodating one bit. Would try to charge extra for bulking up when they were the ones who sent the wrong suit coats in and most of the guys had been in 2 weeks prior. I'm no dietician but I highly doubt any of them "bulked" up that much in 2 weeks. Very disrespectful and were not willing to handle the situation. I made an appointment for my son prior to going to the store, when we arrived we checked in and were completely ignored by 2 of the women working, they were not helping anyone else and even called out for the next person who was not there but then seeing that my son who has Down syndrome was next they acted like they were doing something else until the man working helped him 30 minutes after our appointment time and not even 2 minutes after he started to help us the other 2 employees went on to help the people who came in after us. It was clear they had an issue helping my son because of his disability. If he did not need a tux for prom I would have walked right out, you should be ashamed to have people like that working in your store. read more

The salesman was rude and completely unprofessional in communication and the lack of interest in assisting me... My first time in this store, will be my last! Went to Ankeny location to get something for my son. He had a jacket, shirt and shoes, but I wanted to make sure everything fit correctly and was still in style. He needed pants, socks and a belt for sure. Ethan was the gentleman that helped us. I told him to be honest with me on what the jacket looked like. He said it was a nice one and fit perfectly. He found us pants, belt, ties and socks, but when the shirt was on and everything put together, needed a new shirt to fit around the neck. Ethan measured and found the perfect fit. He had thoughts on wearing this to multiple occasions, which I really appreciated. Even showed us how to tie a tie! Our experience was wonderful and I appreciate the time and patience Ethan spent with us. read more

If there was a 0 star option that is what I would give it! We went there yesterday, 2 black men around 4pm, to shop for a tuxedo for my wedding. My groomsman and I told the man who was working that we were looking for a tuxedo and ask to see a catalog. He went to the back and came back a few min later and told us the tux they had were TOO expensive. Mind you we had not given them our budget. We pressed and asked how much it was and he said $900 dollars. I guess when he looked at all this melanin he assumed we couldn't afford $900 on a tux. Store was very busy with June wedding fittings but we were helped very quickly and were checked on multiple times. We just stopped in to get measurements done for a store across state for a wedding in a few months. They were having an amazing Buy one Get one sale going! It was hard not to add to my husband's collection. I have purchased a few items before as well as rented suits from here for family events and the service and pricing has always been wonderful!!! This is for Ankeny warehouse: I will never return to this place, 1. We went to rent a tux for our wedding and they were too busy, and we left without getting any information that we needed because they didn't have enough staff. 2. We went in a second time and the woman that helped us was beyond rude and was too occupied with talking to a coworker to give us any attention. 3. We called wondering what out tie color name was twice and both times they said they were too busy to talk with us. Horrible customer service again. 4. She gave my husband the wrong measurement so his tux was too big for our weddding day. 5. When we went to pick up the tux, we left and ran a couple arrands around Ankeny and we get a call saying she forgot to putt the shirt and the pants in our bag. Again horrible customer service. A timeline for you: - June 22: Went to the Ankeny store to buy a suit for an August 4 wedding. The jacket is beautiful, the vest is perfect, but no pants in my size are in the store. No problem, I am told: we'll order the pants and you'll have them with plenty of time to be tailored. A manager of some sort was in the building, and the store clerks were circling like flies. - July 5: No pants. I call, and a clerical error meant the pants had not been ordered. We'll take care of that for you. - July 9: Pants had arrived, but the waist is 10 inches too large. I call, am told no problem, things have slowed down. All will be fine. They'll call me. - July 14: No pants, no call, so I call them again. "Oops! However, a pair your size is in one of our Des Moines stores. They will be shipped to our store by tomorrow, and I'll get them in the mail and send them to you immediately." - July 19: No pants. I call the Ankeny store, and they were not ordered properly. Mark handled my panicked frustration with grace, and not only did he place an order IMMEDIATELY, but he called me back after he had placed it himself. This was the first communication I had received from this store during this comedy of errors. My fingers are crossed that I will receive the correct pants in three days. read more

A friend of mine had a wedding in Egypt and he ordered custom suit from Zach and then the dates changed to be sooner than expected. Zach was there every step of the way, constantly updating us on the status and he even called the corporate manager of the custom department to ensure on time delivery. This review is for the West Des Moines location. It was our wedding weekend and my husbands suit he had tailored did not fit. This was the night before and we were in a panic. We called Mens Warehouse to see if they could tailor it in short notice, they said yes so we rushed over to find out that it would be an impossible fix considering how much the jacket needed to be taken in. They showed us 2 suits that fit perfectly and we left there that night with a new suit that fit! The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Also the day of the wedding my husband left his shirt for the ceremony at home and realized this with only 30 minutes til the ceremony was to begin and there was an hour worth of drive time to get home and back. So he called up Mens Warehouse and told them his size and asked if they could have a shirt pressed and ready for him by the time he got there....and they did!! They saved the day twice for us and we are extremely grateful we chose to call them and that they were more than willing and capable of helping. Thank you so much! read more

After shopping around to a few places, we decided to go with Men's Wearhouse in Ankeny for our groom and groomsmen attire. We originally talked to Robin and he made us feel really good about work with Men's Wearhouse. That was the last time we ever worked with him though, even when we made an appointment through him. Everything after that was confusing and we didn't feel like the service was all that great. All the pants got ordered a size bigger than what the guys said they felt good in (but they felt like they should listen to the employees as they didn't have a lot experience in dress pants). Our order was written down on a piece of paper, but when we went to pay, they had to find the paper as it was never entered in or filed. We asked about shirts and were told they would email some recommendation multiple times, and even after a few reminders, we still never received any recommendations. We were still waiting for two of the pants week of the wedding. When we called the store, they said they would call us when they check their shipment and that they didn't have a way to track our order. They never called (or emailed like they did with the others) so when we called back again that day, they said they had been for a few days and we should've received a notification (we did not). We originally felt really good about working with Men's Wearhouse but we would go somewhere else if we had to do it all over again. read more

Been dealing with planning a wedding and although this isn't the only location that gave me problems, this is the only location that didn't apologize and try to rectify it. I'm not asking for refunds but while trying to explain my situation to her, all I got was constant interruptions and Stephanie telling me what I was asking was wrong. Another location told me that what I was asking for was not only reasonable but was doable but she refused to listen to me. God awful service and god awful people. read more
