An hour into his prom, he was walking up stairs and his pants split at the crotch--humiliating for him, he was made fun of, and created an emergency for us to take him pants from home. When I looked at the pants, they were extremely worn and looked like they should never have been rented and you can easily see why they split. When I spoke to the staff upon returning them, they were rude, disrespectful, unempathetic, and told me I had to pay for the pants because they didn't go out the door ripped and we didn't say anything when he tried it on. They even went so far as to say that I should have inspected my son's crotch when he tried them on. They took no responsibility for renting overused items that would be prone to ripping (they blamed the warehouse, but wouldn't take ownership for the fact that the warehouse is also part of Skeffington's), acted like they couldn't see the wear and that 'nobody else had this problem, so it must be your son's fault'. They told me all pants look like his, so when I asked them to show me, I saw a brand new pair of pants with no wear and said they didn't see any visible wear on my son's pants (see picture). Given what happened and what it costs to rent a jacket and pants ($150), I shouldn't have had to pay for the pants rental, let alone get told I had to pay for over-rented pants. Because I refused to do that, I was told I could no longer be a customer of Skeffington's (a non-issue). I'd much rather give my business to a company that rents quality merchandise and backs it up with professional customer service.

Ashley took a lot of her time to track down my dresses - sitting on a loading dock in California and then in Dallas TX - due to a shipping strike! Couldn't believe it. She was so apologetic and kept me in the loop on everything so I was never wondering what was going on or where my dresses were. She was absolutely on top of everything. I couldn't have asked for a better advocate for me and my bridal party! The dresses came in on time and looked gorgeous. Everybody loved their dresses and I was SO pleased. You are greeted immediately and taken upstairs to get a tour and have you and your loved ones look through and pick out some favorite gowns. I worked with Kimberly, and she was so attentive and thoughtful. I never felt pressured once and she was a seasoned expert. She knew exactly what to add to the gown (straps, belt) and took my feedback and what I liked and adapted throughout the appointment. I felt so supported and beautiful the ENTIRE time. The gown selection was one of the best I have seen, and they had a wide variety of sizes which I appreciated to really see how the gown will look in real life. The dresses are split up by price point, making it very easy to stay within your budget going into it. I cannot wait for my gown to come in! This clothing boutique is definitely filled to the brim with gorgeous and cute everyday to more business/formal wear kind of clothing in addition to wigs and other hair accessories. 75% of the store is clothing though with the back 25% past the fitting rooms reserved for hair goodies. There were so many wonderful pieces that I tried on here. Unfortunately, their sizing only goes up to XL and sometimes only L and I'm right at the edge of that, so some pieces fit, while many I wanted to try on I needed just another size up. Customer service was so lovely. The woman who was running the shop was shuttling clothes that I had pulled off the rack into my fitting room throughout my shop and was just so friendly and exuberant, while also giving me the space to shop and peruse at my own pace. I ended up getting a staple kind of black/gray denim button up shirt that will be great for the fall and spring weather and for layering throughout the colder months! I also got two sweaters that had a fun corgi print on them to gift to my corgi-loving friends! The pricing was reasonable here compared to what I normally associate with boutiques as well (these sweaters/denim jackets all averaged in the $40-50 range), so I really appreciated that. Cassidy messaged back quickly explaining how to book an appointment but also encouraging us to just come in given the circumstance. When we walked in every crew member acknowledged us and Cassidy introduced herself and are consultant, Ace. My expectation was that they would pull out a few dresses that just might fit, however what they had in sizes up to 30 were several dresses in several colors and several styles to choose from. Although Ace was serving another customer she somehow managed to be mindful and ready to help at any moment. My granddaughter tried on several dresses in several styles and was able to even try on a couple that were too big, which is an unusual thing and totally unexpected. Ace was right there to provide feedback on each dress and help making sure it was on properly and suggestions as to modifications that would help it fit best. Each of the dresses were well made with quality material and excellent sewing. When we left the store I truly was not sure if I was more pleased with the dress or more pleased with the experience that they offered. We left with an amazing ball gown that was priced more than fairly, but a day later I have to say what was most valuable was the incredible experience from the first message received back from Cassidy, to every face acknowledging us when we walked in the door to the abundance of beautiful dresses and gowns to choose from, to being able to try on something a bit too big, and the one-on-one assistance Ace was able to provide us. I think of the experience as unexpected because I did not expect to leave the store with a dress and I did not expect the Queen for a Day experience the team provided. I have two daughters that are too old for prom, and one more grandchild that at this point I'm eagerly awaiting prom so we can return to Stacy's.
