Stopped in around 7pm on a Thursday. Spacious. Clean. There is a grocery portion of the store with hot and cold foods. Also a beer/wine/liquor section. I got everything I needed to snack on for a few days. I had a lovely interaction with the nicest cash register employee. read more

Went through self checkout and noticed 5 items were miss marked. Even when I grabbed the sign showing the price I was still met with attitude from the employee. Asked for a manager to honor the price and was told "I would honor it but not with that attitude". I immediately asked for another manager who was happy to honor the price however proceeded to tell me "you get more honey with vinegar". The only reason I became irate is because I have employees laughing at me for even asking to match the price that was marked!!! Horrible customer service read more

I love Target in general, but this Target is one of the best ones I've been in. It's clean and organized every single time I come here. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I never have issues finding anything. Shelf's are always stocked. The parking lot isn't crazy chaotic and the carts are constantly being picked up and brought back in. They have a beautiful Starbucks inside as well. They are fast with pick ups. Definitely one of the best Targets available. read more

Came to West Des Moines for the weekend for a sporting event. I forgot a couple things and placed a pickup order; went inside gave the girl my name. Besides the two workers there was another girl standing there that seemed to be their friend. As I'm waiting for my order, this girl looks at her friend that's working and says loudly- "There's no reason someone needs to be picking up an order this late." It's 7pm on a Friday night and the store is open until 9... does it matter?!? The workers standing there (her friends) didn't say anything to her, didn't say anything to me. Handed me the bag and turned around and walked away. I always enjoy shopping at Target. I find the selection and diversity of products I am seeking, and in general I feel like there is a higher quality of product than at Walmart. What is more, the store is much cleaner, and the people working at this store are uniformly helpful and pleasant. A great shopping experience. read more

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT...Target is not taking the discounts at the checkout for items on sale or on the Target Circle list. I have had to get a Manager because even the attendant at the register acts like they don't know what to do. Target is counting on you not bothering with it and just paying full price. I am beyond amazed by this store! I never knew there was a super target. I mean I heard about it, but I just thought it was a nickname or something. I love this giant store! Very organized and so happy to get an super old game board to add to our nerd collection at home! Really nice workers and we were in and out in 30 minutes. Don't forget we really did walk around the whole store! Great parking lot as well, there are three big sections of parking spots. I'm pretty sure will cover more than 100 people! I'm amazed at whole the store is in general! We noticed it when we were getting off the exit ramp, and saw the giant Target. A little hard to get in, but totally worth it. Make sure you look both ways when walking though, we caught a lot of drivers running stop signs and tried to run us over for fun. So keep your kids close, overall I'm very pleased with the area and the store! Can't wait to come back. read more

We made a quick stop for some walking shoes and this Target, like it's friends, had plenty to choose from. The staff in this cvs are amazing. They go above and beyond for their patients. I was released from the university of Iowa Hospital. I was told all my meds were all sent in and handled. I went to the cvs pharmacy on a Thursday night to pick up my medicine. Unfortunately they did not have one of my meds that was prescribed. The tech checked every cvs in town and unfortunately none of them had the med. It was a Thursday night so the earliest they could get the med would be Monday. The tech called a number of competitors and finally found a pharmacy, in the metro area that had the medicine. Another time my doctor prescribed a liquid med which my insurance would not cover. The pharmacy called me to tell me not to come in until I heard back from them. They called the doctor to see if he would prescribe the pill form of the med so my insurance would cover it. Hi, I'm Heather and I'm addicted to Target. Lol. Target is my go to even when I'm traveling. Stopped in Sunday morning to grab a couple things and kill some time before my Old Navy drive up was ready. I'm guessing this location has been remodeled in the near past. It's very open, bright, well organized, well stocked, and inviting. We shopped for about an hour and a half and visited most sections. We started in women's clothing which is kind of spread out. Technically the 'junior' section is kind of separate from the 'women's' section so it seems a little spread out but was easy to shop. Then to the boys clothes. They did not have as many cold weather items as I expected but a decent selection overall. The toy section and the shoe section were both clean and neat (sometimes these sections are the ones that are messy at a lot of locations). Clearance items were clearly marked and the end caps were in good order. We picked up some toys and sporting goods for the kids and didn't have to search for prices because everything was where it belonged. The new layout in the home goods section was very nice! The produce section was laid out well, fresh, and clean. Starbucks was on par with other Target locations. All the employees we encountered were helpful and nice. Target always seems to have super friendly employees that are very service driven so this is what I come to expect when I walk in. (Obviously I know we are all just people and there are some bad apples in the bunch) This location definitely exceeded my expectations! read more

Not all Target are created equally! This new and larger SUPER STORE goes above and beyond! For example today we needed some HEET an Antifreeze you put in your gas tank, so your car does not freeze up! They had 3 bottles at half the price we have seen else where, we bought all three! We also needed items for a baby shower! The Gift registry system is easy to use and totally helpful in finding those baby shower items! This store has produce, pharmacy, electronics, vision, toys, home stuff, heck they even have booze! You want a new CD, MOVIE, or tv to play that movie in! They got those too! Staff is nice and helpful and easy to find, bathrooms are clean, and the parking lot isn't crazy! ALL in all a great one stop shop in west Des Moines for everything from car anti freeze, to stuff that make babys smell good! Tip: they also have a Starbucks in house! This is a really nice Target store. It's very clean and the staff are generally helpful. I go there for some really specific items there are lots of opportunities for shopping including grocery it's a reasonable amount of fresh vegetables and even fresh organic vegetables and a reasonable amount of other groceries. They also have a large selection of everyday household items. In particular for me the paper products that they have are really worth buying. They have the larger compilations of Viva paper towels with 8 to a section and they also have the larger amount of storage bags with 68 to a box. They have a nice section of pharmaceutical items in first aid items that are very reasonably priced. they also have some of the other household goods that you might need like water filters for purifiers like PUR. They also have pots pans plates storage things and furniture that you might need for a house or apartment or dorm room. They have a very large selection of children's clothes and games and things that you might need for kids including some school supplies that are in there office supply section. It's an opportunity to get some really reasonably priced household items from groceries to furniture 2 first aid supplies. I recommend the drive if you live far away to this particular Target superstore the selection is really nice. read more

Luckily there was a Target right around the corner Huge Tarzshay w/ all the goodies you can imagine - lots of decent work clothes that made it super-easy to grab something & be on my merry way Also grabbed some snacks & water....I mean, why not, right? This Target rocks because they give out free samples of food and drinks here. Starbucks even went around the store giving free samples of their eggnog drink. (I didnt really like it though, but it was the thought that counts!) The store is clean and very organized. This review is specific to the pharmacy. I visited the Target/CVS pharmacy to fill a prescription for eye drops. The pharmacist quickly greeted me, took my prescription, and told me not to go anywhere while he checked if they had the drops in stock. They didn't have them, but rather than simply letting me go on my way to another pharmacy with my prescription, the pharmacist called around until he found another local pharmacy with the drops in stock. This is the closest and one of the nicer Super Targets near me. Plus, it's convenient being off I-35. Nice layout and decent bargains in all depts. The grocery area is reasonable and typically can pick up some baby carrots, etc. There is a even nicer Super Target in Grimes if you make it further up I-35. Otherwise, I really like their electronics area and normal daily stuff like snacks, etc. read more

My favorite Target!! It's so clean and sparkling new. The layout is different than most Targets, but it's a little variety, and we all need some. Super friendly staff. People who are used to seeing the greeting cards over by the electronics and dvd's....the card area is toward the middle of the store at this location. One of my favorite things about any Target is that if there are long lines, the crew leaders are constantly calling for more assistance over their walkie-talkies. :) read more

I got a purple pack and play as a gift I wanted to just exchange it out for a blue one since I'm having a boy and the kid working the service desk wouldn't let me he made me get the lowest price on the one I got as a gift and then continued to make me pay 15 extra for the blue one which made no sense when it was the exact same one just a different color. All I wanted to do was exchange it out. I won't be coming here for anymore just unfair that something I got as a gift couldn't be switched out for the correct color hopfully I don't get anything else from here at my shower since this company will make me pay extra to get the correct color. read more

I over heard them talking about "stupid young college kids" "they are so irritating" I was there between 815-845pm shopping in the accessories dept & the couple of target women employees straighten clothes. They were talking poorly about a few young boys politely asking a few questions. I expect target workers to be professional. They were not whispering. Incompetent store personnel. Had manufacturers coupons, sent directly from the manufacturer (Crayola) for a defective product. The coupons had a barcode, silver printing, and specifically stated that they MAY BE COMBINED TO PURCHASE ONE CRAYOLA PRODUCT. Tried to purchase a $20 item and use two $4 coupons. Despite showing the manager exactly what was printed on the front, they absolutely refused to honor two coupons. Had her cancel off my entire $100 order and walked out with nothing. I am a long time devoted target shopper and today was a first. A young manager named Jacob made me hesitate my loyalty to the chain. Granted he might of been having a bad day, everyone is due one now and then, no customer should be treated so rudely and disrespectfully. The young woman in front of me who was trying to complete a transaction (I witnessed from start to finish that was rather simple) could no have been treated worse if she were the scum of the earth. I was about to step in when another manager seemed to take over. Jacob stopped this manager in her tracks and shut her down. He then proceeded to send customer on her way. I've since tried to give Jacob a second chance, asking for help when trying to find a product at another store, and he obviously was very busy because his affections and attention were clearly being aimed at another customer and or employee near by. I'm sorry Target, a power hungry manager is not what I've expected from you. Back to my normal target! read more
