My kids grow like weeds. They always seem to need new stuff. And I'm thrifty, so I shop at Kohl's. Because I can get quality, name brand, trendy stuff on a budget. Honestly, with so many coupons available -- I make a point to not buy things unless they're 75% off or more. Which may seem crazy-coupon-lady-esque, but it's very doable. You may wonder how I shop so cheap, well Kohl's clearance is my bread and butter. Savings start at 60% and go up from there. But best yet, you can use additional coupons (like 30%) for more money saved! $20 earrings, were $2 on clearance-- bought for a whopping $1.40. I avoid buying shoes or electronics at Kohls. Coupons are typically harder to use on brands like Nike or Adidas. With that being said, my kids rock Converses with the best of them... they have amazing deals on this brand even if they're not eligible for other promotions. 5 Reasons Kohls is Rad 1. Get cash back up to 12 months after purchase and in-store credit beyond that. 2. I always lose receipts. If you use a credit card to make your purchase, your shopping history is stored in the computer for a full year. Full-purchase price back, no matter the card. 3. The Kohl's credit card is instant savings. Exclusive coupon codes are sent often to cardholders-- again-- these can be used with other coupons. 12 times a year this coupons are sent. 4. You can use up to four promo codes at a time. FOUR. One sitewide+two department specific+Kohl's Cash. Or, one sitewide+three Kohl's Cash. You can't use more than four codes total. 5. Forgot to use a coupon on your last Kohls.com purchase? Just email customer service with your order number and promo code. You can be credited in the form of the original payment. I've always had good customer service online. Not as ideal interactions have been had in the store. Parking is a non-issue. This particular location is easy to navigate but often disorganized. Kohls hired a company called the retail equation. This company has convinced Kohls to deny returns that FOLLOW THEIR POLICY. I personally have never returned anything without a receipt and on time. Suddenly they said I couldn't return a DEFECTIVE purse, ordered online, with receipt. I DID NOT get a verbal warning. In the past couple of years I shopped for my elderly grandmother, my two kids, myself, my husband so maybe use some critical thinking skills when you look at a list of returns......maybe they are for multiple people in a family. I admit, I did things like purchase 10 pairs of shoes so my 95 year old grandma could find a pair that were comfortable. I did the same for clothes. I told the cashiers exactly what I was doing. I also admit I returned 9 pairs of shoes and multiple items of clothing and explained to the cashier why. My grandma can't go to the store like so many others that are home bound, so congratulations you have made it harder for the elderly to get things they need from your company!! Shameful! I also did the same for my mom who had Alzheimers. Some of my returns were because I received dirty and /or defective stuff from orders online. Lack of packaging is why for most. Delicate items like bras came snagged and dirty thrown in a box. I received sizes I did not order. Do you expect me to keep wrong sizes? I did order some things on accident because the items were in my cart. My bad! I pointed all of this out when I returned the items. How exactly are we to shop online without having returns when the store doesn't have it to try on or to look at colors and styles? I am now stuck with a DEFECTIVE purse. How is this even a business tactic? Who would think it is a good idea to not allow valid returns abiding by the company policy? Customers won't go back concerned it will happen because no guidelines are provided. Kohls refuses to tell customers how many VALID returns are allowed which is extremely unethical. I did the dispute process which is a joke. Kohls confirmed I had too many returns. How many is too many.....no one will ever know. Are you forcing customers to keep merchandise to increase revenue? That is sure what it seems like because I am not a criminal or committing fraud. read more

On April 18, 2020 (during quarantine and this store was open for pickup orders) I ordered a Dyson Ball Animal 2 Upright Bagless Vacuum for $423.99. I ordered the product online and picked it up at the Coralville Kohls location. My order was ready for pickup 1 hr and 34 minutes later. I was excited! I told the guy to place it in my back seat. I went home and placed the box near my door. After eating dinner and relaxing for a bit, I noticed the box was disfigured. On one side it wasn't professionally packaged. The box seemed like it had been used or ripped open before. My gut instinct was, "please god, don't let this be a used product!" It sure was. I was angry and so many emotions ran through my head. I could not believe it! I started opening the box to find the whole product not professional wrapped or organized in the box. It looked like someone used the product and placed it into a big bag and stuffed it into the box. The Dyson cleaner head had human hair and debris attached to it. The body of the vacuum looked used and not clean. The Dyson bin had dirt and other filthy stuff in it. I couldn't unravel everything as I was totally disgusted and pissed off. This product was a lot of money and they gave me a used one. This was BAD customer service. I called Coralville Kohls location since that was where I picked up the item. I told them they gave me a used product. The guy said they couldn't exchange the item because the store was closed and I could return it when the store opened (which was pending b/c of COVID19). I told them, they were quick to accept my money for the purchase, why couldn't they exchange it for a different one. I got nowhere and they were not empathetic to the situation- another sign of bad customer service. They didn't apologize on behalf of Kohls when this product was at fault. I then tried customer service support online and on the phone (the Kohls corporate number), which both took over 30 minutes to get a person. The online support took 32 minutes and the phone representative took 44 minutes. The online support woman reiterated the same statement as the Coralville guy about returning the item when the store opened. Her responses were really slow, like 5 minutes to respond. This was another example of bad customer service from an online feature. It was a long wait to get a representative online, and then they reply slowly. It was also difficult for her to provide clear and understandable answers. The woman on the phone ended up hanging up after being on for 4 minutes. I had to wait 25 minutes to get someone on the phone again. Whether it's a faulty phone system or rudeness, it's still bad customer service. This time around, it was a different woman and she helped a lot. She was able to send a UPS guy to pick up the product and then issue a refund on the product. I was happy that we started the process of issuing a refund. May 6th, 2020 was the 10th business day since Kohls received the product (doesn't include shipping/receiving which was 3 business days) and quarantine was still taking place. I still didn't receive my refund of $423.99. I called customer service and waited 42 minutes. The guy stated that my refund wasn't completely done so it never went through. I was really upset. He put in a new request and said he would flag it so the reimbursement people can see it and process it quickly. I received my refund three days later. Through this experience, I've learned that Kohls customer service sucks and they don't put the customer first. They can improve their customer service by addressing some of the topics I mentioned above and the wait time. Also, shame on the Coralville Kohls staff who took advantage of a customer during the pandemic. I hope no one has to endure this type of experience. read more

I looked at their perfume for sale but was unable to find one on this trip to Kohl's, but I have been more successful on other trips I have made to Kohl's. read more

This store is so much better than my local store in Chicago. The staff was friendly, my returns only took a few minutes, and sales tax is lower. I did have some difficulty buying a watch in the jewelry department. The 1 woman behind the glass had to help all of the customers, and she wasn't really listening to what I wanted. But I still got a good watch for 40% off, so I'm happy. read more

Kohl's is a great store that reminds me of a nice mall store, but they are stand alone stores. They have such nice mens clothing choices, I always find something I want to get. Kohl's is a good spot for gifts for that person who does not really need anything but you want to show them you care... Think grandmas, mama's, kids! I was impressed by all the cool Star Wars items they had, and also fun authentic college and professional sports out fits to cheer your favorite team on this winter or fall! The store is super clean, and the staff was nice. The lines went quick and if you sign up on their mailing list they are always sending you good coupons you can pull up off your phone and use! Standard Kohl's with more stuff that you know what to do with and at least a few things that you'll convince yourself you may need. Examples of items I wasn't aware of before I went into Kohl's over Christmas - an electric dog bowl, an electric coffee mug for my car, a $400 blender with a motor the size of my that in my first car - I think the "will it blend" guys (I checked, they still exist) should look into this as I believe anything will blend it. While Kohl's has plenty to keep you busy, the Kohl's cash is often what keeps us coming back. Generally ranging from 20-30% of your purchase price given back to you effectively in gift cards for specified dates later, it's a good reason to put off buying somewhat expensive items until the Kohl's cash dates so you can reap the rewards later. We bought a black friday vacuum and did most of our Christmas shopping with the reward money a few weeks later. Looks and smells the same as any other Kohl's and it's generally a pleasant experience. read more

I usually hate department stores, especially discount ones but I really liked this Kohl's. It may just be that I'm now so used to living in the city and discount department stores aren't easily accessible, but I was totally psyched to see the ear muffs I was looking for for like $15. They were $25 every place in Boston! Now whenever I visit my dad I'm gonna have to stop in! Love the store, HATE trying to use Kohl's pay. It never works--either cashiers haven't been trained on process or the computer is down and doesn't process Kohl's pay. I requested a replacement (NOT lost or stolen) card because I'm tired of wasting my time at check-out (trying to use Kohl's pay) and slowing down those in line behind me. It will take 2 -3 weeks for new card and they've cancelled my prior card so now it will take even longer to check out if I want to use my Kohl's account number. According to customer service, there is no way to expedite or rush a new card. Not sure it's really worth it. I'll find somewhere else to shop. You've lost a loyal customer. read more

The cashier signed me up for a Kohl's card and forgot to add my percentage off for signing up. So after she price adjusted me I told her I wanted to pay the amount on the card. When I got home I realized that she added the payment amount wrong and I paid over $20 more than I actually owed on the card. I went in today to get the issue resolved and the customer service person told me that I now have to call support and get the issue fixed even though the associate who rang me out is the one who made the error. I used to love this Kohls but it is pretty much junk now. They've always had bad service but it's gotten worse. The store is dirty and unorganized & staff is rude. I'll continue to shop here but likely not this location. read more
