With my first visit, I was looking for something to wear to Keeneland and the owner, Sherri, was unbelievably welcoming and amazing to work with. I not only left with a stunning outfit for the races, but, some stellar pieces for my professional wardrobe and everyday life as well. Finding clothes that look great on me is often challenging, but, here it was easy to find great pieces that fit my body. With my most recent trip to town, I shopped there a few different times and was pleasantly surprised to find new pieces to choose from. The entire staff is super friendly and I know that Carl Meyers is my go-to shop, for future trips to Lexington.

I plan to make a trip back really soon since the location is close by my home. This little boutique is near the Ramsey down Harrodsburg road going away from town. Upon arrival, one is greeted by a pleasant aroma of leather wafting from the store. The front is western themed and looks like something out of a John Wayne movie or old Dodge City. Very creative architecture. Inside the store there is a massive array of "cowboy" hats and boots. Upon entering, we were greeted by a kind young lady who offered to help us with our search. We were looking for a dress for my wife and a dress shirt for me. We found a quality Wrangler western shirt with pearl snaps for me, but the clothing selections for women were a bit light. It is fair critique, but in their defense, the name of the business is not Western Wear, it is The Boot Store. After striking out, we left for another store to find a dress. We found one at another location. Upon finding the dress, we needed boots to match. My wife has extremely wide feet, which has always defeated her in finding cute cowgirl boots. Realizing we were now in the hunt for boots, we returned to The Boot Store. They had no boots my wife's size in stock. This is not a strike against them. Many companies don't make D width cowboy boots. Even fewer carry that inventory. Nevertheless, the same young lady who had helped us previously returned to our side to help. She measured my wife's foot and helped her determine exactly what type of boot we were looking for. We did find one pair that would have worked, but they were a high end boot and beyond our price range. Prices vary from very cheap to very expensive and everywhere in between. For the average western boot wearer, male or female I can't think of a better place to find western footwear. This is a destination location for all things western. Hats, belts, buckles, western shirts, and boots, boot and more boots! Every type and sort and color you can imagine. My wife used the women's room while she was there and the toilet was clogged. Eh, these things happen. If there was a negative that was probably it. Parking is ample. The business is on a busy thorofare. Getting out can be a challenge at peak traffic times. Overall, a five star experience for us.

They have some cute items, but the prices for clothing are very high. You can also shop online, and many of the items are in the $200-$300 range. Items on the "cheaper" side range $50-$70. They do have some cute small gift items that are more reasonably priced, both in the store and online. If you're looking for some high-end items, Scout & Molly's may be for you. Though I think their merchandise is nice, it's just not in my typical price range so I likely won't be shopping here often.
