Tariq was fantastic! I found him on yelp and contacted him to schedule a session for my graduation photos. He responded quickly and we booked a date for the appointment. He threw in a lot of extras for me at no extra charge i.e. more time and photos. The photos were amazing, exactly what I wanted. He was also really quick to edit them for me knowing I needed them as soon as possible. He made the session very comfortable by helping me with poses by showing examples on his phone and pointing out spots that he thought would make for a good picture. My husband and I got married in September but we were having our wedding event last month. Our budget was pretty tight but I still wanted to have someone take some photos of us during the day, looking so pretty in our wedding cloths (our event was in the evening, and on a boat). So I conducted a search on Groupon where I came across Tariq from Koh Photo who was so nice, accommodating and easy going right from the start! We talked over the phone to set up the date, price and some additional details. We then started exchanging emails in order to pick a location that fits our personalities and wedding theme and we ended up choosing Old Poway Park. The big day arrived and we met with Tariq in Old Poway Park - he was on time (very important to me, since we were also on a tight schedule that day-I only took half a day off so had to make sure everything is going according to plan with no delays) and he was equipped with two cameras - one on each shoulder. My husband and I, not being used to the whole photo-shoot session experience, needed to warm/loosen up a bit and Tariq was great at helping us feel more comfortable and relaxed. He then lead us from one spot in the park to another, directing us (in a good way, cause we needed that) how to stand, where to look, what expression to aim for, etc... and what do you know - we were on our way! Every now and then, Tariq got excited about a good photo he shot, so he showed it to us on his camera and what can I say - every photo was more beautiful than the one he showed us before. At the end of our (awesome) photo-shoot session, we had a slight misunderstanding regarding the type of package (full vs basic-we got the basic, but since we didn't communicate that at the beginning of the session, it lasted as long as the full package would have been) we agreed upon originally (it's been more than a month since we first talked to when we met at the park) but Tariq was understanding and didn't make us feel uncomfortable - he accepted the payment, said he will check his notes when he gets back to his office, that it's all good and that we shouldn't worry about it. We wrapped things up deciding on a 'delivery' method for the photos (cd, dropbox, personal page on the website, etc...) and additional products we might be interested in (prints). So - we let it go, drove home, and got ready for the evening portion of the day. Two weeks later, I received a text message that our photos have been uploaded to the Koh Photo website, along with the URL and a note saying that we ended up with 76 photos (when in reality, the basic package includes less than that) and that we can choose 50 that we'd like to keep/get access to. The next day I sent Tariq a list of the 50 photos we've selected and he surprised us again saying - 'ah, forget about it, I'll give you access to all 76 - it's my wedding present to you' (THANK YOU!!). I am now awaiting our gorgeous photos to be uploaded to the Dropbox folder I shared with Tariq so we can then share them with the world :) Tariq - you were wonderful! It was a pleasure working with you - you're pleasant, easy to get along with, you're timely, you worked hard, you helped us choose a location that was perfect for us and you delivered amazing photos that we absolutely LOVE. I booked Tariq for my MBA graduation ceremony and i am glad i did. He was super cool and produced a great set of photos out if the event. It was sometimes dark in the hall, but he cleaned up the photos and made them look really nice. He suggested a lot of locations and poses when i was outdoor with my family after the ceremony and we took a bunch of really cool pictures. I definitely recommend him for any occasion. The guy is totally cool and friendly. He sent me a link to my photos online and then met me to give me a dvd with the originals, and framed print! And a nice card congratulating me on graduating. Tariq is awesome! My girlfriend and I spent lots of time looking for the perfect photographer for our engagement photo shoot. We contacted several photographers in the San Diego area, and spent countless hours reading reviews before we decided on Tariq. Leading up to shoot, I was in contact with Tariq on a daily basis to make sure that we were well-prepared for the shoot. Since I would be proposing to my now-fiancée, I wanted to make sure that we had all of the details squared away (when to propose, where to keep the ring, etc). Tariq recommended the perfect place and time; a beach setting in La Jolla during the sunset. On the day of the shoot, I contacted Tariq one final time to make sure he would be on time. Tariq was there ten minutes earlier than we had planned so that he could set up, but of course, we were running about 45 minutes late. I began to stress since my plan was to propose as the sun was setting. It was a race against time, but Tariq helped calm my nerves and assured me that we'd still have plenty of time to shoot before it got dark. This was our second time working with Tariq/Koh Photo, and it was just as great as the first. He very graciously scheduled us in quickly, suggested a beautiful location, and was quick to respond to any questions. He was on time when we met (which is something I really care about since trying to keep 3 kids clean for a photo while waiting in a public park is not easy!) and had ideas for different areas of the park to take the pictures. They came out wonderfully, and as before one of my favorite parts is how he managed to catch some of our kids' 'that's so them' unique expressions. He provided more time in the session and quite a few more hi-res images than originally agreed upon, all of which are appreciated since they were really great, I would have had a hard time choosing.
