It's scary that I have no recollection of what happened, one minute I was looking at the green left turn light, the next, I was sideways with my helmet skidding across the asphalt. California CVC 21208 basically states that on a roadway with a bike lane, bicyclists traveling slower than traffic must use the bike lane EXCEPT when making a left turn... With that said, the police report put me at fault!?!?! I was rear ended riding a bike by a car! I didn't want to legally pursue anyone if it was indeed just an accident, but I have no idea if the driver was on his phone, not paying attention or what, plus he left me with a broken leg and medical bill was north of $130K and I knew my medical insurance would only cover so much.
