My son has also done the summer camp. He started singing and played drums since the camp. At camp they also make a demo CD. It's great to hear how much they can accomplish in a week. And he's going back again this summer.

We were very underwhelmed by this music camp. Our overall impression was that it was very…read moreunorganized. Before the camp started, parents received an email explaining the logistics, and everything seemed organized. However, we quickly realized that the staff did not seem to be aware of, or follow, much of the information included in the email. For example, the email stated, "Hours - For your convenience, the school will be open as early as 8:50 AM for drop-off." However, every day, parents had to sit with their children until a teacher let them into the classroom at 9:30 AM. Additionally, on 3 out of the 5 days, the teacher was either late or did not show up. On the first day of camp, I went to pick up my son and was waiting in the designated area. I heard a child screaming and crying for his dad. It sounded like my son, but I couldn't imagine why he would be wailing like that. I then realized it was my son. He had been trapped in the bathroom and was drenched in sweat. We were told that the children had a buddy system. Unfortunately, his buddy had already left, which I understand can happen with 4- and 5-year-olds. However, I was very concerned that no teacher had checked on him until they heard him crying. Thankfully, he was okay, but it was a very upsetting experience for him and for us. At the end of camp, the children were supposed to have a performance. The initial email stated that students would come home on Monday with information about the performance, but we received nothing. The children ended up performing one song, "We Will Rock You," and the performance seemed very rushed and only partially planned. There were no instruments involved, and the teacher was not present. The entire performance lasted less than 10 minutes. The woman in charge that day, who was not the teacher, had the children get off the stage. One of the children asked about another song, and she quickly explained that they were not going to perform it because many of the children did not know it yet. The email also stated that the children would receive a camp T-shirt and come up with a band name. Neither of those things happened. The email also said that a recording would be sent to us of the performance-I highly doubt they will follow through. I realize that I was not present in the classroom during the actual camp sessions, so I cannot speak firsthand about everything that happened during the day. However, based on the lack of organization, communication, and preparation we experienced, we did not feel that the camp provided the experience we expected. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and would not recommend this camp to other families.

The facility is clean and sanitized with the attention of detail that has resulted in the best environment for our children. The food options are excellent and provide a balanced meal to keep our little ones fed and nourished. Issues or concerns that were communicated by myself to the staff were respectfully discussed and addressed in a timely manner. The events and activities that are sponsored by the academy are great team building opportunities for the parents and staff. They spend their days outdoors, exploring nature, and doing all sorts of amazing activities. Bonfires, tubing, swimming hole, fishing, zip lining, you name it! And even horseback riding now, too. The staff are wonderful and attentive - getting to know all of the children (not just the ones assigned to their groups). This camp is the perfect contrast to a school year spent indoors at a desk - get out into nature and explore!

My child has been physically dragged, cursed at, and made fun of by a Bar-t staff member. The staff member has also mistreated several other kids in Bar-t this year on a number of occasions. When parents complain, the owner says he has no plans to get rid of the staff member, and does little to give parents confidence that their kids will be treated well in the future. Some of the best staff who supervise the kids have left Bar-t because this new owner is a bully who underpays them. Go elsewhere for good after school care.

Carpool is a disorganized mess that backs up into the road. No pickup system, no letters or numbers…read moreassigned. Sometimes the kids aren't at the pickup location on time. Sometimes they lose a kid and the entire car line sits for 15 minutes while they search the property. Only one counselor works the pickup line for some reason. Instead of apologizing for being late and losing kids the staff is rude, abusive, incompetent, and endangers the children.

During that class, there was a concerning incident where the instructor took a student's work while they were still actively working on it, despite the student's clear objection. This made the student feel disrespected, and the experience left both children feeling uncomfortable. We brought the issue to the attention of the center director, who investigated but ultimately attributed the incident to an unrelated conflict, which we felt misrepresented the situation. We requested a refund for the remaining sessions but were told the payment was non-refundable. We agreed to pause lessons until a preferred teacher returned in June, but despite multiple follow-up emails, we never received a response or update from the director. The lack of resolution, accountability, and ongoing communication issues have led us to discontinue our relationship with this learning center. We are still requesting a refund for the unused portion of prepaid lessons and hope this review prompts better responsiveness and care in the future.
