These guys were really fast and very friendly. Have a big waiting room at the front of the building. The nice thing is is they don't have to share the building with anyone else so when you pull in there is a stop line at the front door. I've only had one experience, but it was a really good one. I will keep coming back. My wait time was probably 25 minutes. And I wasn't the only customer so they are very efficient. And I thought the price was very reasonable compared to the competition. Oh, and the wait time was a lot better than the competition. It used to be a little stressful planning the time to sit through an oil change. But this is quite refreshing, knowing that I can come into Kona for a few errands knowing I can get a quick oil change as well and not make it a half a day ordeal. read more

Just be careful if you own a Nissan Rogue. I went here for an oil change and the mechanic did not know how to properly remove the oil pan so I had to replace the entire oil pan and screw. And they charged me almost $400 for the new oil pan. The manager spoke to me and blamed the vehicle saying Nissan changed up the oil pan and they break easily. I later went to a Nissan dealership and they told me that's not true, there are specific instructions on how to remove and replace the Nissan oil pans that the mechanics should have been trained on. They said it was unethical what Kona Kwik Lube did and I should not have been charged for the new oil pan for the mechanic's mistake. I felt that their manager at Kwik Lube was not completely honest and took advantage of the fact I'm a woman who does not know about cars. read more

This place opens at 8am, and when we got there at 8:01am, we were the 4th car in line. A lady was standing outside admitting and directing each cars where to go/park/wait. She was very efficient and clear on her direction. Inspection was very thorough, fair and efficient. We've never done this before but now I can see why inspection is needed, as the car in front of us was getting a clear pointers on what needs to be fixed to pass the inspection to be a safely operating car. I can tell this shop owner had a very honest business from the way he was giving directions, and cost was very reasonable. I'll definitely bring my car here again. read more

Damaged the oil plug, stripped it and now we have to change the oil pan to be able to fix it and change the oil. They did exactly the same thing to our neighbor'a vehicle and refused to make it right. Very unprofessional and looks like they don't know what they are doing. Do not use them! read more

Like the commercial says "six lifts are better than two"(knocking the nearest competitor, also with Quick in their name), and it is true. I take my personal cars to those other guys, mainly because I always have, so all of my records are there. However, my work vehicle always comes to Kona Kwik Lube. And it's ALWAYS quick. The other place? A crap shoot. Sometimes it's 20 min, sometimes a few hours. Kona Kwik- always in and out under 30 min. Located on Alapa St in the Old Industrial area, the set up is simple and convenient. Just pull up, the owner will come out, Scan your vin, get your mileage, and you can just go inside and wait. Inside means a huge waiting area that includes one section with a table and chairs, another keiki section with books and toys, and yet another section with a huge wrap around leather couch and TV. Funny thing is, I always just sit in one of the cheap plastic lawn chairs, as I'm never there for more than 20-25 min. Service is always with a smile, and the owner is great. I've never had a problem with her, perhaps the people who have left not-so-nice reviews were possibly part of the problem too. Takes two to tango. read more

I took my car into Kona Kwik Lube for a "Safety Inspection". The technician said that I do NOT have the current insurance card. I drove all the way home to get the insurance card. (Happy Technician...No !) Then he tell me that the window tint on my LEFT REAR window is DARK. I told him that it is the same tint on that window for that LAST 2 YEARS ! He said this was issued by Big Island Toyota. I told him that I will take it back to them. I did, and I got my new SAFETY STICKER ! (Happy Car Owner...) I've been going to Kona Kwik Lube for years, with four different vehicles. They live up to their name; I don't think I've waited more than 30 minutes for an oil change. (There's another "fast lube" place in Kona that took well over an hour for a basic oil change.) I've never been disappointed with the service here. The gal in the office is super nice and knowledgeable - she knew my atypical oil when I told her the model of my new car. The waiting room is clean and spacious. Positive reviews except one...Scott L's review actually helped me make my decision in coming here. He left because of a TV STATION playing. Had he not been so quick to judge and wait to leave a one star rating, he would have realized the TV is customer operated! So, most likely a customer was the one who left Fox News on. Was the second person there at 8 am. Person who greeted me was very polite and helpful, asking if I wanted basic oil change or full service - $9 more. Of course asked for full service. Had safety check as well, and it took a little longer than I thought it should. One problem I wish to report to them is that they supposedly checked all my tire pressures. That could not have been the case as a week later my car lit up with low tire pressure light! My husband checked all the tires and all four were low - 25 lbs when they should have been 32, and the spare tire hadn't even been looked at - it was at 20 lbs and should have been 60! read more

I had a couple instances during the time I was here, and most are forgivable if people bother to communicate. This was not the case. It was the type of thing where there was probably some basic mix up as to why it took my service twice as long and everyone that came in after me had already gone. when I brought it up casually as I was finally being checked out there was no acknowledgement.
