Es marea lenta entrando al alma. ‍ Los mariscos llegan como bendiciones: camarones, langostas, ostras, testigos de que el océano también reza cuando se deja comer. Cada bocado me devuelve a La Ensenada, Estero Hondo y ha @hotelvillasjk a ese horizonte donde el azul no tiene prisa y el viento habla claro. Luego, Boca Chica me toma de la mano: pescado frito, crujiente como la risa de la infancia, República Dominicana latiendo en cada recuerdo que aún sabe a hogar. La pasta negra... ay, la pasta negra. Tinta que no mancha, que eleva. Me transporta el alma al cielo del cine eterno donde Marlon Brando calla con poder, Al Pacino aprende a reinar en silencio y Robert De Niro recuerda que el honor también pesa. This was my second time at this spot, and I realized I never left a review the first time around. I ended up ordering the same dish again, and I even told the waiter it tasted even better this time. Don't get me wrong--it was great the first time too. I added a little twist to my order since I didn't want the octopus and shrimp, so I substituted chicken instead. I paired it with a glass of Sangria, and honestly, it was one of the best Sangrias I've had in a while. My wife ordered the same dish but chose grilled chicken with a side of fried rice and tostones. This isn't your typical Spanish restaurant. It's a bit pricier, but the flavors are bold and thoughtfully crafted. The place itself is really nice--though I personally prefer a little more lighting. Overall, definitely give it a try. You'll enjoy it. read more

Great find in Perth Amboy. Nicely decorated and outstanding service. We were a party of 10 and all the food and drinks were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. DJ on Saturday night played great music. Would be great if they add a dance floor. Will definitely be back! read more

First time visiting the space is intimate and well decorated.. the menu is small but tasty. For appetizers I tasted the tuna tartar and chicharrón de rib eye and sopa de lenteja. The tartar was perfect and fresh with the plantain strips.. the chicharrón de rib eye was a table favorite the meat was nice and tender the guacamole was perfectly seasoned. For the entrees I ordered the risotto de guandules y chicharrón the rice was perfectly cooked and the sauce was nice and creamy. My friend ordered the mar y Tierra with yuca mash her plate was cold and when she ask the waitress to heat it up in the microwave she did exactly that which I was taken aback about I have never been to a restaurant that microwaves cold food instead of replacing it. My other friend ordered the Boca chica fish with fried rice and they brought it out with tostones and too much salt, when we told one of the waiters they brought a side of the fried rice which I wasn't a fan of because it was very under seasoned. My other friend ordered the grilled chicken with tostones which she said was good but looked basic. For dessert I was pretty disappointed at the options not typical Dominican dessert ... they had lava cake with the viral Japanese mango ice cream, crème brûlée, and cheese cake. The lava cake was underwhelming and the ice cream was good but I could buy one from The store if that's what I wanted. Would I return here probably for drinks and an appetizer nothing more unless they rotate the menu read more

The food was delicious my favorite dish is the grilled chicken with chimi sauce and the fried rice it only has a sorted of diced peppers. I highly recommend this place without any hesitation. The service can be better with more support but the waitress and waiter are very friendly and welcoming. The chef does a great job with presentation and the food is pact with flavor. The chef was very nice to us he took time out for us to greet us and we had to thank him for outstanding delicious food. We will definitely be back. read more

Mother's Day to not even have my dinner. the service was beyond slow, the servers don't know the table numbers. it felt like a soft opening. 20 minutes to get water. 1.5 hours to get 2/3 of table served then another 1/2 hour to get the check. Terrible place, do not visit. Food quality is mediocre, as well as the portion sizes are very small. The servers are terrible, my server forgot my water as well as my coffee, she sent another server to check on my table thinking we were just hanging out when she forgot my coffee. FURTHER MORE IF YOU DO BYOB THEY CHARGE YOU $20 DOLLARS AND DONT INFORM YOU THAT THEY HAVE A CHARGE FOR OPENING YOUR BOTTLE UNTIL YOU PAY!!!
