I wouldn't recommend this restaurant!!!! I order churrasco medium well. Was over cook hard as a rock. Order tostones that seem to had been fry hours ago extremely hard. The sweet plantains were over cook and super brown & greasy! White rice was ok... beans felt like they been from days ago. The sauce on steak is a heavy sauce very salty and unpleasant... They brought the food and no one ever came to ask if everything is ok or if we need it anything! Then I spoke to the owner to let him know how I felt and show him my steak how hard it was & also my tostones, he's answer was Custumor is always right... I told him If you want more buiesness you need to fix the problem. Is not about me been right or wrong I was trying to help him giving him my advise of my experience I left almost all food in my plate so then he ask Will I take it to go? No why would i take it to go when I didn't even ate it here.... Sad to say that he did not care of my opinion did not discount anything on my bill. But sure enough over charge me, when my bill came prices were more by $4 each, so I told him to fix prices.. he came back saying that the prices had change, so I told him to update he's prices on the menu. As I mentioned above the food was good but our server was horrible as well as the overall service. We ordered the mofongo with chicharons as an appetizer to share and let the server know that we would order our entrees afterwards. After taking our appetizer order, she left with what seemed to be an attitude. Our mofongo was delivered about 15 minutes later by our server and we attempted to place our order for our entrees but our server quickly walked away and disappeared into the kitchen area. Long story short..we left without tipping our server because of the piss poor service that she provided during the entire time we were there. So this place has some pretty great food, so i was pretty disappointed with this. Ordered chicken Alfredo pasta, it looked pretty good honestly. Yet it tasted nothing like it. There were different types of peppers in it and onions. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, they were better then the pasta, but still not that good. The restaurant isn't too big, it's not very modern and it doesn't stand out. it is however a favorite with the locals... So we tried it out. We went on a Friday night, approximately 7pm. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken immediately. The waitress was very pleasant and moved swiftly. Both our meals were prepared to order. We waited maybe 20 minutes, enjoyed a drink and the music while we waited. The wait was worth every minute, the food was fantastic. My wife and I are from the Caribbean, we had very high expectations of what each dish should taste like, they were undoubtedly able to meet the expectation. She had the Camaronfongo - a dish made primarily of plantains and shrimp in a light garlic sauce. The key is that the plantain portion can't be hard & the sauce can't be thick - they got it spot on! Their sauce was just right, the portion was very generous, the shrimp were large & plenty, a good deal at appx $17. The other dish was a more traditional plate of white rice, beans, and fried chicken chunks. The rice was good enough to eat with nothing else - the test is if you can it alone, just plain white rice and it's not too salty yet not too bland then it's good and it was. The chicken chunks were seasoned to perfection & fried to precision! The beans weren't my favorite, I thought I could taste the tomato sauce in them, I'm not a fan of the mild acidic taste of tomato sauce but my wife thought they were good. This dish came with a green salad and we ordered half an avocado. That said, we spent $31 which included 2 Corona beers for a delicious Dominican meal. We we were with our 2 boys, we all ate from these 2 very generously sized plates. As we were preparing to leave the people arriving were clearly coming for the bar/club event that starts at 10pm. the music is loud but does seem to blend in with the atmosphere. If you've ever been to DR or PR, its much like being over there. its probably not good for a date because its loud and does cater to families with small children... To sum it up, you should try it. First of all, when I first walked into the restaurant it smelled like I was walking into a nasty public bathroom. No one greeted us and it took 12 minutes for someone to greet us. Finally the girl came up to us and she did not look very hygienic and did not seem to know anything about the menu. The smell inside the restaurant kept getting worse as the night went on. I ended up ordering a mofongo with chicken, cheese and chicharrón. I started to choke on a small piece of bone. When I mentioned it to the waitress she took it and said she would speak to a manager. Turns out she was gaining time to throw away the "evidence". The manager was not even there and she asked me to talk to the owners daughter. I went to talk to the daughter and ended up getting harassed by all of the workers there. Everyone gathered around me to put in their own opinion on how I was wrong and that I just wanted a free meal. I was spending more than 100 dollars there, what is 9 dollars out of my meal going to do for me? Not only did I get harassed by the workers but by the owners daughter as well. They also admitted to leaving all of the bones when mashing the chicken for the mofongo which is very dangerous for you consumers!. I do not recommend this place at all. Not to anyone!!!! I'm going to start off by saying that the food tasted great. But I'm giving Mi Tierra Restaurant 1 star because the customer service sucks. I ordered from the restaurant for the first time and had a very bad experience. I got a delivery this weekend. First of, the delivery got to my house 1 hour and 11 minutes later. Second, half of my order was missing. I ordered 2 orders, but instead of getting my whole order. I got charged for a large order of Chicharrones, when I clearly asked for an order of rice, beans and a small order of Chicharrones. Well the rice and beans were missing. I called the restaurant, to inquire about my order. The lady on the phone told me that I was right, that the other person who took my order forgot to write down my whole order. I told them that I didn't want a large order of chicharrones, I wanted a small order with rice and beans. The person who originally took my order couldn't get on the phone to speak to me. But the other lady told me that they will be coming back, to bring me the rest of the order. But I'm still waiting on it.... They never came and left me waiting on it all night. Even tho, I'm less than half a mile away. Half of my family had to eat something else for dinner because this restaurant's customer service sucks. I will not be ordering from here again. We sat ourselves waited a half hour to place drink orders and by that point we were ready to order and let our unfriendly server know. He said OK I will be right back over another 30 minutes later he took our order. I ordered the mofongo with shrimp which ended up being cold, hard, dry, and the shrimp were blah. My bf ordered pepper steak with rice and beans. The steak was terrible, tough, and had absolutely no flavor! The rice was hard freezing and had no flavor. Yes white rice should have at least some salt added when being cooked! My sister in law had Moro that was definitely cooked a very long time ago it was hard cold and dry. Her chicken had a nice brown skin but again dry and cold. Wtf we had to wipe down our table since it was stinky. The music was blasted I couldnt even hear my bf talk who was 2 feet away. When you have to clean your own table, get up and walk around to find your waiter, and complain and nothing is done or said your in a bad restaurant! I regret bringing my family here and am actually embrassed and apologized for the experience! $120 later I feel I got robbed! I do not understand how or why this place has business! The place does get a little pack after 10 pm, but its more about drinks and music at that time, I would presume.
