I visited on a random Friday afternoon specifically to see The Adrian E. Flatt, M.D. Hand Exhibit, and it was absolutely fascinating!!! Dr. Flatt, one of the foremost hand surgeons in the world, made significant contributions to orthopedic surgery and began casting and bronze-coating the hands of notable individuals back in 1962. Walking through the exhibit, I was truly mesmerized by the detail and individuality captured in each cast - it's incredible to see just how different people's hands can be. Highlights for me personally included the hands of Walt Disney, Louis Armstrong, Katharine Hepburn, several US Presidents, athletes like Troy Aikman, etc., and even expeditionists like Everest survivor Beck Weathers. The exhibit is located in the lobby area of the hospital and appears to be open to the public, though you will need to obtain a visitor pass so be sure to bring your ID (a photo of it on your phone works too... ask me how I know). The exhibit itself is free to view. It's more of a hallway-style display, a bit tucked away, quiet, and not busy. There's something oddly human and grounding about focusing on something as simple as hands in a place where so much serious care happens. I also grabbed a coffee from the nearby cafeteria and had no complaints, it was actually quite good and a nice added bonus. As for parking... I can't confidently speak to that, as we may have risked it a bit (oops). So while I can't speak to patient care (thankfully), this visit was a memorable and worthwhile experience. It's a unique hidden gem within the hospital and a great place to spend a little time if you're nearby, especially if you're looking for a quiet moment of reflection. We have been through lots of ups & downs together regarding my medical health and she always remains positive as well as making me feel like she has my best interest at the forefront. On a recent visit Dr. Evans could tell something was wrong before I could even open my mouth to tell her. And when I left she told me if I needed anything before my next visit to not hesitate to contact her. I love Dr. Evans, I can't say that enough and if you are lucky, she can be your doctor as well.

She even responded to me on a weekend when she was not working! It's not any more expensive than PrimaCare, but you get to see an actual doctor, not a physician's assistant. The Concentra staff really knows what they're doing, and can quickly assess whether you need to see someone now or if it's OK for you to wait your turn. Everyone takes time to thoroughly answer all your questions, and they happily take follow-up calls if you have questions after you leave. They're great!

I live 3 minutes from Baylor Uptown and decided to go there. I have experienced what it was like to be an ER patient in excruciating pain- twice last week. From my nurses: Janet and Karen, to the ER Director Kisha, my radiology Tech Eric and the two attending Doctors each night: Dr Ali and Dr Barstad... thank you. I had two ovarian cysts with one that had ruptured. The care I received was warm, immediate, and thorough. I felt like family. Because of their expertise I was able to avoid surgery and follow up with my OBGYN and PCP the same week to receive treatment. Coming here was that necessary step. Thank you. I saw her consistently for two years. Then she left, and the quality of care has steadily declined. My most recent visit was the final straw. I arrived 15 minutes early for a routine medication check-in and still waited 30-40 minutes after my scheduled time just to be called back. From start to finish, I was there for nearly two hours. During that time, I told the nurse I didn't want to do the usual urine drug test because of cost concerns. Instead of giving me a straight answer, the nurse passed the message to the PA, who then brought in a supervisor. I didn't ask for that. I wasn't being combative. I just asked a question. Eventually, I was told the test was required, and that could've been said up front. It would have saved a lot of time and frustration. The PA didn't ask how I was doing, whether the medication was working, or if I was having side effects. He didn't ask when my last period was--which matters, because I hadn't been in for months and the medication I'm on isn't recommended during pregnancy. He simply asked, "Is this still the right dose?" and when I said yes, said he'd send it off. After the supervisor stepped in, he came back and went through the motions of listening to my heart and then, oddly, checked just my ankles. I hadn't mentioned any issues there, and no other joints or areas were examined. There was no explanation. It felt like a weird box-check after an awkward delay. Since Megan left, there's been no continuity. I've been scheduled with a rotating list of PAs, usually without warning. You can check the portal to see who you're scheduled with, but if that changes after you check, there's no update unless you happen to log in again. Today I showed up expecting one provider and was surprised by someone I'd never met. And after five years, I've still never once seen the actual doctor. If you're looking for consistency or someone who tracks your history, you won't find it here. The phone system is equally frustrating. You can't book online--you have to call. And when someone answers, they almost always ask, "Can you hold?" but immediately put you on hold without waiting for an answer. A few months ago, I had to call four or five times in one afternoon because the hold system times out and disconnects after about 25 to 30 minutes. I spent over two hours trying to get through and never spoke to anyone. Meanwhile, when I'm in the waiting room, I've seen front desk staff standing around, chatting, or doing light paperwork while the phones ring. It's not a staffing shortage--it's a workflow problem. And if you're trying to do a walk-in visit, good luck. They advertise same-day walk-ins, but no one will answer the phone to give you a wait time. You're left debating whether to go to your established primary care office--where they know your history--or head to MinuteClinic, where at least you know what to expect. I've gone to MinuteClinic more than once for that exact reason. That says a lot. At the end of my visit, the PA casually mentioned they're now using a cheaper lab for the drug test. That would've been a helpful thing for the nurse to say up front when I first asked about skipping it. If the answer had simply been, "Yes, it's required, but we're using a more affordable lab now," I would've said okay and moved on. Instead, I got passed around, waited forever, and left feeling dismissed. I didn't ask for escalation--they created it. Between the long wait times, lack of follow-up, rotating providers, poor communication, and a phone system that feels like it was designed to wear you down, this practice no longer puts your healthcare first--despite what their motto says. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values their time, consistency, or basic communication.

So, we wanted to explore the ENT options and get on treatment, stat. The front desk was able to make us an appointment day of. Much appreciated! Check in was efficient and respectful. The waiting lobby is spacious. Good on the girls. They seem happier here! There's a tv for your viewing pleasure. The filtered water is a nice touch. I can't speak more to the experience just yet as I was merely today's 'taxi'. I'll update this post in January -to report my physical experience. One more star awaits! Simmons Cancer Center .. New…read more My 73 year old wife had a lung scan every year since 2021 revealing "ground glass" effect causing recommend to another yearly scan. She missed 2023 because of couple extensive back and neck surgeries. 2024 scan revealed 2 very small nodules yet recommendation for wait a year see if they grow. Unknown to me maybe because my wife did not see it as significant. She kept this info from me. I would have pushed go back in 6 months at most. November 2025 one nodule had quadrupled in size now above the .8 MM that triggers biopsy. A good local hospital will remained unnamed performed the scans and biopsy but I knew she needed professional specialists. After some internet evaluation I might have chosen Houstons MD Anderson being number one in the world but distance and possibility of multiple traveling appointments caused opting for Simmons Center at UTSW. It has a very high rating, the same certifications, same modern technology and was closer access which is important for people of our age. It was a good decision as we met oncologist Dr Wei the next week who has an outstanding online video introducing herself to prospective patients. Just the video was reassuring! Even tho we had no appointment with Dr Nelson he came in and looked at our scans. Was also reassuring and said that they usually do surgery within 30 days if they think it is the correct path. This was music to my paranoid ears. PET scan and breathing test was required then he lived up to his promise removing both nodules and several lymph nodes for lab evaluation in the same surgery December 2025. They think she is cured (KNOCK ON WOOD) In summary I would give 6 stars if possible for both these doctors and even tho we did not have to use her expertise Dr Zhang (the radiation specialist) also was welcoming, friendly and very professional. These doctors and every one at Simmons from valet to pre and post surgery nurses were pros and always polite and friendly. We did not have to partake in their Hope Lodge which is a free hotel for their patients. Radiation would have been daily for 6 weeks and living 75 miles away would not have been able to keep up with that drive every day. But it is there if you need it. I have read some reviews about taking too long to get appointments or having to wait past time of appointment and would suggest achieving excellent trained specialist is the assignment for you or loved ones! Organizing yourself and your records will streamline the process of dealing with a large and very busy organization. Maybe write down notes in your smart phone listing questions as you think of them before the appointment. Finally patience might be the best attribute to becoming a successful patient. Let me assure you these people will be on it quickly
