Full review posted in the screenshot--because I have too much to say for one box. I've been coming here for over five years. It used to be a great experience when Megan, PA, was on staff. I saw her consistently for two years. Then she left, and the quality of care has steadily declined. My most recent visit was the final straw. I arrived 15 minutes early for a routine medication check-in and still waited 30-40 minutes after my scheduled time just to be called back. From start to finish, I was there for nearly two hours. During that time, I told the nurse I didn't want to do the usual urine drug test because of cost concerns. Instead of giving me a straight answer, the nurse passed the message to the PA, who then brought in a supervisor. I didn't ask for that. I wasn't being combative. I just asked a question. Eventually, I was told the test was required, and that could've been said up front. It would have saved a lot of time and frustration. The PA didn't ask how I was doing, whether the medication was working, or if I was having side effects. He didn't ask when my last period was--which matters, because I hadn't been in for months and the medication I'm on isn't recommended during pregnancy. He simply asked, "Is this still the right dose?" and when I said yes, said he'd send it off. After the supervisor stepped in, he came back and went through the motions of listening to my heart and then, oddly, checked just my ankles. I hadn't mentioned any issues there, and no other joints or areas were examined. There was no explanation. It felt like a weird box-check after an awkward delay. Since Megan left, there's been no continuity. I've been scheduled with a rotating list of PAs, usually without warning. You can check the portal to see who you're scheduled with, but if that changes after you check, there's no update unless you happen to log in again. Today I showed up expecting one provider and was surprised by someone I'd never met. And after five years, I've still never once seen the actual doctor. If you're looking for consistency or someone who tracks your history, you won't find it here. The phone system is equally frustrating. You can't book online--you have to call. And when someone answers, they almost always ask, "Can you hold?" but immediately put you on hold without waiting for an answer. A few months ago, I had to call four or five times in one afternoon because the hold system times out and disconnects after about 25 to 30 minutes. I spent over two hours trying to get through and never spoke to anyone. Meanwhile, when I'm in the waiting room, I've seen front desk staff standing around, chatting, or doing light paperwork while the phones ring. It's not a staffing shortage--it's a workflow problem. And if you're trying to do a walk-in visit, good luck. They advertise same-day walk-ins, but no one will answer the phone to give you a wait time. You're left debating whether to go to your established primary care office--where they know your history--or head to MinuteClinic, where at least you know what to expect. I've gone to MinuteClinic more than once for that exact reason. That says a lot. At the end of my visit, the PA casually mentioned they're now using a cheaper lab for the drug test. That would've been a helpful thing for the nurse to say up front when I first asked about skipping it. If the answer had simply been, "Yes, it's required, but we're using a more affordable lab now," I would've said okay and moved on. Instead, I got passed around, waited forever, and left feeling dismissed. I didn't ask for escalation--they created it. Between the long wait times, lack of follow-up, rotating providers, poor communication, and a phone system that feels like it was designed to wear you down, this practice no longer puts your healthcare first--despite what their motto says. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values their time, consistency, or basic communication. read more

I use to speak so highly about Plaza Medical Center. I would refer family and coworkers. I've have been trying to schedule an appointment for three weeks. I would be on hold for over 20 DAMN minutes then I'll hang up, due to frustration. I stop coming to Plaza Medical Center for that very reason a few years ago. I'm certain that the level of care is still excellent but, if the hold time is over 20 minutes is problematic. 23 minutes and I finally got someone!!! If Plaza Medical Center can improve on the wait time you would be where you were when I wrote my original review praising you. Don't give me started by trying to go online and scheduling an appointment that's a nightmare within itself. read more

I made an appt recently to get blood pressure med refills, they called and canceled last minute. I told the front desk girl who called that I'm gonna run out of pills (this was right before Christmas break) and she was like .....so? She had tons of attitude and was like, 'we have no physicians here'. I said I need a refill and she said you need an appt. She continued to argue and I was like let me talk to the nurse. The nurse gave me 15 days worth of pills and I rescheduled the appt. fast forward two weeks - my appt is on Friday and my last pill would be taken on Thursday. They call to cancel my appt AGAIN. they call at 3:40pm on Wednesday to tell me they've decided to close on Thursday and Friday. I miss the call cause I'm at work. I call twice but of course they don't pick up the phone as usual, so I leave a vm for them to call me back because I HAVE NO BLOOD PRESSURE PILLS. They cancelled my appt that was solely to get heart medication. so naturally, they did not call me back. I call the "on call" doc and leave a vm around 5:30pm, waited 12 hours and no call back. I leave another vm the next day at noon, it's now been 5 hours and counting and still not heard back from them. this office is negligent to their patients. they do not answer the phone. every time you go, you have to see a new doctor. they've put me in a situation where it's snowing in Dallas and I'm going to run out of blood pressure pills. is this the kind of place you want to trust with your health? I'm disgusted by this office. read more

I'm writing this review based on my long term observation of the front desk staff at Plaza Medical Centre at pearl Street. To begin, the access to timely responses when calling in for medical needs has been either nonexistent or at most at 10% available each time I have called for over a year. A female front desk employee name Silvia who has been there for over a year has been the complaint of a number of patients. These complaints have varied from her disregard to patients serious medical needs to just apathetic responses to patients verbal concerns over the phone. See Google reviews from Ellen Griswold, Rebecca Green, Pat Wilson, Alex Bilbery, and more. Silvia consistently puts patients in potential harms way with 15 to 30 min holds on the phone after patients have voice sincere concerns involving their health. I have much more facts to offer however I simply wanted to do my individual duty to make others and the general public aware of this type of dangerous behavior at this facility.​ read more

I've been going to this medical center for years, seen several "doctors" there come and go. The place is like a revolving door for PAs (Physician Assistants). There really isn't a Medical Doctor there. Regardless, office visits used to be somewhat quick and efficient years ago, though getting refills has always been difficult; forgotten about; lost; or denied. The staff is simply dysfunctional now; unable to answer simple questions, clueless about information since nobody there really updates records in a timely manner. Also; with their recent dismal phone answering system, you will be lucky to actually speak to a person; if you do, after holding for 5 minutes; you get a real person immediately saying "please hold." It's odd because I've waited in the "lobby" there for scheduled appointments so many times over the years and the 2-3 ladies at reception were never slammed with phone calls; usually they're just chatting amongst themselves. If you rely on daily (non-controlled) medications and expect refills easily and automatically; with prompt responses from the pharmacy, then this is not the place for you. I've been going to Plaza Medical for over 10 years, because I work in the building, and it was convenient. When Megan was there, she was great. She listened to me and took the time to explain any issues I had. When she left, the PA that was assigned to me, to be blunt, just didn't care. I was unhappy, but like I said it was convenient. If you have an appointment, they are never on time. I've had to wait up to an hour after my appointment time to see the PA. The staff does not return phone calls in a timely manner, and when I asked for the PA to call me, I was told that they don't return phone calls. The final straw for me was when I renewed my prescriptions, my co-pay on one was over $450, and when I called to ask if there was a generic or another medication I could take, all I got was crickets....no one called back. Another one of my prescriptions is out of stock until mid September. I called to see if there was a different medication I could take. Again crickets... I finally called back this morning, and was on hold for over 15 minutes. I was still on hold when Brenda finally returned my call. I had labs done on 8/16, and she was finally calling me back with the results....12 days later. Also, the front line people there are just rude. I had to show my insurance card 3 different times, and then when I saw the PA, she told me my chart showed "no insurance". When you go in for an appointment, you have to go to a link and answer THE SAME QUESTIONS that you fill out when you have the first appointment of the year. Now you have to do this every single time. They also lose documents. I go to the optometrist every November and I bring their paperwork with me and hand it to the PA, then when I come for my 3 month check up, I'm asked if I've been to the optometrist because the report I handed to them, is not in the file. Today, I just finally had enough. I will be finding a new office to go to and will be seeing a "real" doctor, not a PA. I know I put up with this treatment for over 10 years; it didn't used to be this bad, it's only got to this point in the last 2 years, but I finally got to my breaking point. My office is moving out of the building at the end of August, and it just gave me the excuse to find someone else. Please do not go to this location if you can help it. read more

Dr. Megan Starks was amazing! I had never been to this establishment and couldn't get in to see my regular doctor. The front office staff was very nice and were able to get me in within the hour. The wait time was next to nothing. Never seeing this doctor before I was a little hesitant-but Megan took her time and I felt was actually trying to really understand myself and my situation. I would absolutely drive out of my way to come see her. When/if she ever leaves here I'm following her! Great place. read more

This location is very convenient they have it all under one roof with: 1. Physician assistants 2. Blood work 3. Basic X-ray 4. Pharmacy 5. Allergy care 6. Complete physical 7. Basic wound care The location in the Plaza of the Americas is fantastic for visitors downtown and downtown workers alike. They work to fit you into the schedule, and are relatively friendly to engage with especially when problems arise. They consistently answer their phones and are quick to follow up. The pharmacy is well stocked always friendly and extremely fast. They provide recommendations and genuinely show care and compassion for the patient. read more

Do NOT go here! Biggest waste of time and money I have ever spent. I went here for several years for no other reason that it was the only place my insurance covered but I would rather spend 1000$ on a cash visit somewhere else than go here. I have been on a medication for many years and been to this clinic 3 months ago and twice in the last year. I was told I needed to come in for a refill. Even after the previous time they told me that and I came in, paid to wait an hour and have the doctor tell me I didn't need to come in for that. After the unqualified office staff told me that I needed to come in regardless, I told them I only had a few minutes and was there any paperwork or anything I needed to do before hand. I arrived early only to wait 10min and be given a stack of 20 pages I had already filled out and left. Previously I have waited 6 months for a referral. Been told to use there pharmacy and then told the next day they don't carry what I needed. Never has a doctor spend more than 3 min with me or cared at all about my actual health. Just pumping people in and out to charge people and abuse the system. read more

This is the slowest office I've ever been to. The doctors are fine, but it took up to 2hours after my appointment time to see them. When calling in for an appointment it takes them up to 10 - 15mins to answer the phone and the receptionist is not friendly. I've been waiting on my test results for over a month. Once after results, I was called in to discuss the results only to find out my vitamin D was low. Waste of time and copay, they could have just told me that over the phone. Strive to do better through training, and customer service. read more

They don't take the time to assess your needs or go through any questions you may have, unless you're quick enough to shout them out. Horrible, money hungry, cold people I went in for a Rapid Covid test because I live with people who have confirmed positive covid. When I inquired about rapid testing to set my appointment they said yes we can. I came in and they took my money for rapid covid testing no issue but while I'm waiting to be tested they send in someone to let me know they do not do rapid testing unless you are sick and sympathetic I let her know I've been around people who were confirmed. We went on with a test. I asked the nurse who was administering the test if it was a rapid test she rolled her eyes and explained it wasn't, just said the proper term for a non-rapid test. No apologies for wasting my time, not giving me the opportunity to get what I actually needed. My mother has arthritis, lupus and diabetes, she is very religious and now I can't see her for Christmas because this place decided to lie about what they do because they just want to take your money. read more

I was dreading the thought of going to Walmart and waiting an hour for my prescription and suddenly remembered there was a pharmacy across the street. I have been coming here for about 3 years. I like the parking garage ,, free. I live in Plano so it's about 1 hour from my house. My wife likes Rajesh Patel so that why come here better than my last 2 doctors! When I first few times it was great . Now I feel like just another # !!! I don't like there is no sink in the bathroom..it's on the outside of the bathroom. I don't like that they sent me to get two MRIs and then bring a disk back to the doctor and sent me to a specialist. I asked the doctor for some medication for the problem and she said that I would have to go back to the specialist to get the medication and why would she have to need to see my MRI then? I guess that's the way the medical insurance market work around here . Just go round and round. I do like that they have a pharmacy in right there at the doctors office which is super awesome!! but the last three times I need medication I'm waiting on my insurance company to approve it so that means I have to go back down there just to get the medication. I've used the Plaza Medical Centre for over 10 years, the only thing that would get me to change is the PA leaving or moving out of state. Yes, there is a PA onsite, not a doctor, but she is the best PA in the world. Her entire staff is extremely responsive, as I've gotten follow up phone calls and texts. Elina and the Admins up front are phenomenal. Yes, the wait can be a little ridiculous at times, but I don't just sit there and wait, I ask them if I need to reschedule. They understand my time is valuable, just like theirs. I starting going when I worked downtown, 12 years later I still make the drive. Maybe my perspective is skewed because I've not used anyone else in a long time, but when something works, it works. read more

PA Patel was unapologetically very late for the first appointment of the day. Cursory, hurried, incomplete exam in my opinion. Needed one maintenance prescription refill, and she rejected the next refill. I thought this location would be a time saving alternative, and it turned out to be the opposite. I go here because I live downtown and it's convenient. I do like the PA and always had a positive experience with her. My only complaint is the wait time. I made an appointment at 10:30 and didn't even get in until close to Noon. I've read other reviews that say the same. That's urgent care or ER wait time and that's unacceptable. If you don't have the staff, simply tell people you're overbooked. Other than that, I do like the staff and the location. It's also nice that a pharmacy is inside of it so it's a one stop shop. read more

Being new to the city of Dallas and without health insurance, I ended up choosing one health care clinic in the area ( I will not mention name out of courtesy) . I struggled for six months to get basic medical treatment ( i am a healthy person ( hypertension and Insomnia). I finally decided to try Plaza Medical Centre. I had a really pleasant experience. The facility is well maintained, the staff is courteous and there is a pharmacy right there. Special thanks to Sneha Patel for an excellent care. From now on, I am choosing Plaza Medical Centre as my Primary Care Provider. read more

I had an appointment here last Tuesday for my foot which I hurt attempting to longboard. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00. I didn't get home until 4:30 and I live 5 minutes from their location, it was 45 min until they called me back. They xrayed my foot and told me I had a stress fracture, the PA told me not to walk for two weeks but they weren't going to give me crutches cause the "problem wasn't with my ankle". What? They sent me home with Tylenol 3's and an anti inflammatory. The Tylenol 3's didn't even touch my pain level. When I got home I couldn't walk, I called my fiancé and he picked up some crutches for me. I'm now at an orthopedic office in Baylor. I brought over the X-rays Medical Plaza took, the doctor looked at them for 2 seconds and said these are terrible, we're taking our own X-rays here. The X-ray experience was completely different. Bottom line go here if you have the flu,anything more serious I would go somewhere else. read more

The staff here don't even attempt to be courteous. You'll wait 45min to an hour past your appointment time before you are put in a room where you'll be left waiting again. They purposefully over book because over booking just means more copay money in their pockets. The medical assistants come off as uneducated and uncaring. They never call you back. Simply hearing back on test results for an issue you've already been seen for - you have to come in so they can take your copay again. And this is their policy wether or not results come back with positive or negative results, doesn't matter. They'll make you come in just to tell you everything looked good. This is not the standard in healthcare- you will not run into the same problem at another office. Staff are rude right off the bat. Don't they know the last thing sick people want (or deserve) is instant attitude from people they are turning to for help? They are not there to help you or even attempt to pretend like they care about you. They are there to get as much money from the business people around the area who are short on time and desperate for medical attention. This mess of an office is not even worth it if you're desperate. Oh and be ready for them to try and sell you allergy shot treatment, no matter the reason that brings you in- again, another tactic to keep taking your money. Try an appointment and you will learn your lesson and not return. For the people that actually wrote good reviews I am shocked they had a good experience- must have been lucky. I have given this place multiple chances with bad experiences every time. I have worked in medical and understand it can be a difficult job so I make a point to be nice to the staff (easy to say but I guess you'll just have to trust me) despite this I continue to be treated poorly.
