Pho with rare beef and brisket.
    Sanger Y.

I went into Konia with no expectations. It was a cold night and the idea of a steaming hot bowl of pho sounded like a great idea at the time. Thankfully, Konia is great! I had a bowl of pho with the rare beef and brisket, and I was pleasantly surprised by two things. 1) It was served in a stone bowl, meaning that the broth stays steaming hot even if you may be a slower eater. 2) The brisket was FATTY. This may or may not be a good thing for you personally, but for me, it was VERY welcomed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though the restaurant is very big with lots of seating, Konia was packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In either case, the wait staff was very kind and did their best to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. If I'm back in the area again, I would definitely be open to coming back and trying more of their menu. The banh mi sounded appetizing but I didn't have the stomach for it during my first visit.

One of the local Asian favs. With Konia, Roncy is becoming an absolute great hidden spot for Asian food -- whether it's viet, Korean, Japanese, or Indian -- don't skip out! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot feels like the perfect mix of family run and date night appropriate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try more than just your typical pho! If you're here for lunch, the banh mi is a 10/10 choice. Fast service all day long.

This new gem in the heart of Roncesvalles Village invites you to savor a unique menu that transcends the ordinary, elevating Vietnamese classics to new heights. Handcrafted cocktails complement the vibrant flavours. With Asian places like this upping their game, you can now hangout with friends over drinks and eat properly flavourful food besides chicken wings, hamburgers, and french fries. Thank god for that!

I know that they have double doors before entering the restaurant, but that evening it was freezing inside. It felt there was no heat!! We sat near the bar and it was loud with them making the drinks. The menu is interesting and my friend told me that many dishes come from the middle of Vietnam, the city of Hue. I ordered a veggie noodle soup since I was feeling cold, and it was a disappointment. The soup base had flavour but it was not hot at all!!!!! There were a variety of veggies to eat, and the portion was small. No I was not full at the end. Verdict- I would not go back.

Customer Service 5/5 Ambience and Vibes 5/5 Food 4.5/5 Drink 4/5 The vibes? Looks like they took brought over the whole village from Vietnam and put it inside the restaurant. Immaculate to say the least. Service was on point, Zoey our server and the other lads came by multiple times to ensure we were well taken care of. Food was incredible and comforting, my 3% Vietnamese side was fairly content with the selection and quality of the items we ordered. However some my palette may not have enjoyed or is not used to growing up. (Rating 4/5) Quintessence of Lotus | Gỏi ngó sen 16.95 From the crisp pickle lotus stem, prawn, and pork belly. Crispy fried shallot are tossed together with fish sauce creating a tangy sweet and sour finish. Salty, tangy, crunchy and refreshing, the name of the dish in itself commands the elements it encompasses in finding a balance of flavors known in Vietnamese cuisine. (Rating 3/5) Old Aged Clay Egg | Chả Cá Trứng Bắc Thảo 14.25 Deep fried fish paste wrapped around a century egg. Off the rip not my favorite dish, not because of the century egg (I love century egg), but perhaps the ratio of fish paste to century egg was off or lacked flavor, the peanut sauce helped a bit but there was flavor lacking. (Not sure if this is a traditional dish but it is definitely unique and my first experience at it) (4/5) DIY Platter | Mẹt Nem Bò $65 Roll your own rolls with our DIY platter with two types of sausages, variety of Vietnamese greens. Purple rice, mint, cilantro, white rice, skewered meat balls and rice paper wrap with nuoc mam to dip. Definitely a fan favorite, interactive meal is the best meal. Flavor profile was there, hit all the elements with refreshing herbs to balance the fattiness of the pork and beef, the rice paper is a perfect vessel to deliver the goods to your face hole. The only complaint our table of 5 had was we are accustomed to eating the sausage (no glizzy jokes here) in a long format and having the meat in ball form throws the wrap off balance. (Rating 5/5) Bún Riêu $18.95 Traditional Vietnamese rice vermicelli noodle soup made from crab and shrimp. Topped with tofu, pork, and Vietnamese ham. The star of the show. Flavorful. Decadent. Very umami and comforting. Tasted like how my mom used to make (Except mom is always the best ;) (2/5) Bún Bò Huế $18.95 Beef broth noodle soup made with a little extra spices and the aroma of lemongrass. Topped with sliced beef, pork, and Vietnamese ham. The least favorite of the night. This dish for us was lacking flavor. I tried to like it and gave it multiple attempts because we did share this dish among the group and I tried my best to finish it, but I found it very hard to fall in love with because there were elements of BBH missing of how it is made in my household. Maybe missing salt/nuoc mam and the umami flavors but it was lacking. Drinks (3/5) Sunken Cloud $15.50 Bourbon | Disaronno | Lime | Egg White Classic bourbon cocktail with the key ingredients, nothing particularly standing out about this one, just a good classic bourbon cocktail. Refreshing with the lime and a little creamy with the egg white. (3/5) "Pho" The Revolution $18 Gin | Cilantro | Cinnamon | Anise | Mint Leaves | Lime | Soda Water Strong hit of pho flavor the moment you taste it, the taste of the pho broth will surprise you at first taste but you'll have to rotate it in between with other drinks/water cause the pho taste gets kind of repetitive in a cocktail (get this to share if you can, you'll see what i mean) (3/5) Nirvana's Sunset $14 Gin | Triple Sec | Aperol | Pineapple Good balance and ratios of a Gin cocktail, not a strong pineapple flavor but very refreshing. (3/5) Lechilicious $17 Soho | Rosso Vermouth | Vodka | Lemon | Lemongrass On the sweeter side cause of the Soho, balanced well with the lemon and lemongrass for that aromatic flavor hit in this cocktail. (Worst asian compliment, too sweet) (5/5) Hulk-Bae $16 Rum | Kumquat | Lemon | Coconut | Pandan Leaf Probably my favorite cocktail of the night. The coconut and pandan leaf flavors really pop in this cocktail, the aromatic flavors of the two really stand out Not pictured: (4/5) Koko Phe (Vietnamese Coconut Coffee) This was the dessert we all tried, (selection is karem and this item). Good product, however it is akin to an iced cap from Timmies, whereby the ice to drink ratio is off and when you drink all the liquid, all you're left with is ice chunks with some flavor balls left. (If y'all can make it more slushie, this would be a 5/5 item)

As an east ender, restaurants only Roncy always surprise me, and Konia was no exception! The decor is very cool, and vibe is warm and friendly. It feels like your walking into your Vietnamese friend's home for dinner. Our server was casual, and although he forgot a couple things after taking our order, he was attentive and got things right in the end. The menu was like a coffee table photograph book. It has a unique binding, and I enjoyed flipping through the pages. I had the Supreme pho - which was great value. Lots of meat and noodles! One final aspect our experience is that my friend booked a floor seated booth. Most of the restaurant is standard tables, but they have some floor seated spots on a raised deck. That was fun - but tight. Makes sure you have hip mobility to sit there for an entire meal if you reserve the floor seated spot. I'll be back for sure!

Konia Kitchen and Bar is not only an aesthetically pleasing restaurant, but the food also matches the ambiance. We ordered the Konia Pochette (vegetarian version), which was a bit bland due to the thick sticky rice. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the accompanying chili sauce made it a unique appetizer unlike any I've tried at other Vietnamese restaurants. For our mains, we had the Bun Bo Hue and the Vegetarian Supreme of Hue (Bun Hue Chay), both of which were flavorful and filling. The corn in the Vegetarian Supreme of Hue (Bun Hue Chay) was so tender and delicious! We sat at the bar, where the bartender was very attentive and provided excellent service. We ordered the Nirvana's Sunset and another red drink to which can't recall the name, and both were perfectly balanced. Overall, the vibes, service, and food are great, making it a wonderful spot to try for dinner!

We had our wedding at Konia on March 15th, 2025, and it was nothing short of magical. From the initial email communication to the day of the reception, the entire experience was seamless and full of care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our 40 guests were blown away by the incredible food, drinks, atmosphere, and above all--the amazing service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff worked so hard, making over 100 drinks throughout the night, and made sure everyone felt taken care of. I even asked to add a last-minute tea ceremony with our parents, and the team made it happen without missing a beat. At one point, I accidentally knocked into a staff member and caused a bit of a mess with a broken bowl and spilled soup--I'm still so sorry!--but they handled it with such professionalism and kindness. We've dined at Konia many times and never had a bad experience, but they truly outdid themselves for our wedding. Thank you for the unforgettable evening and the beautiful memories.

The place is such a unique and fun vibe from the hut-like bar, nón lá on the ceiling and the low floor seating. The mix of modern and traditional was really thought about when creating their decor and menu. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful as well with recommendations. We ordered the build your own pho and the Bun Bo Hue. I loved that the pho came in stone bowls and a generous amount of add ons. This was my first time having Bun Bo Hue and really enjoyed the spicy shrimp flavoured broth! To warn, it is quite fishy so if you're not a BIG fan of seafood it may be a little much however I found it very flavourful. The ingredients seemed fresh and I loved the variety of meat ingredients in the soup including sliced beef, sausage and spicy beef balls. It really hit the spot on a cold winter day. Looking forward to trying their shareable plates in the future.

It's all in the details. Nothing here is an afterthought.

THIS PLACE IS A GEM! Once you enter Toronto feels like it's a million miles away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is inviting. Vietnamese conical "paddy hats" hang from the pressed tin ceiling and the bar is crafted with a straw roof and bamboo. There's a interesting, sculpture-like instrument called a T'rung in one corner. Wood tables, exposed brick and lantern lights all come together to create a warm & cozy feel[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The food was great. The words that kept coming to mind were "fresh" and "flavourful". We loved that there was a vegetarian section in the back of the menu. My drink called "Pho the Revolution" was so good I snapped a photo of the ingredients. The bartender was very friendly and our server was delightful. She was happy to answer all of our questions and was attentive. Go check it out - you won't regret it. If you get a chance, ask about broken rice.

Loved this modern twist on traditional Viet food. It still felt very authentic despite having a westernized take. We ordered the Bun Bo Hue, beef salad, and pochettes. Everything was delicious and the beef was so juicy and tender. I'd come back for that dish alone. I'll also be coming back to try the pho cocktail. The BBH was textbook, rich broth, just no blood pudding which makes sense given the demographic. I've never seen the pochettes before, but really nice combination of Viet flavours. Pâté and ground pork in a deep fried sticky rice shell, with pickled carrots and radish. I really liked the décor here, the seated on the floor options in the back were also cool. We'll be back!

We noticed this new spot open up in Roncy in the former spot of Sienna's and it was packed so we decided to give it a try. We were seated fairly quickly as it was early and noticed how cool the ambiance was in the restaurant. The design of the restaurant is quite cool. For dinner we decided on trying their pochette which is like a deep fried sticky rice, crispy spring rolls and vermicelli platter. We really enjoyed everything except the sticky rice was deep fried a bit too hard we would say. The pho revolution cocktail was a hit. We really enjoyed it. Overall this was a great spot and we may be back. But it is a bit pricey for Vietnamese food in my opinion! So just a warning for folks looking for some no frills pho, this spot is a bit fancier and pricier.

Great place for food!! I would give it a 5 but it's abit pricey!! Viet coffee is amazing though and all their food is delicious! Come try this place though! I need to come back

We went on a Friday around 11:30 AM and were the only table there, which made for a quiet and relaxed lunch. We ordered the bún bò Huế and the pad thai. Both were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. They did the job, but neither dish really stood out enough to make me crave a return visit specifically for them. That said, this is very much a no-fuss kind of place. Prices were on the more affordable side, around $15 per dish, which is always appreciated in Toronto. The atmosphere is casual, the service was straightforward, and the food came out without much of a wait. Overall, it probably wouldn't become my go-to spot, but as a vegetarian-friendly option in the area, it's a solid and easy choice if you're nearby and looking for something simple.

I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!
