Omg did they change owners? I've been storing my fur coat here for a couple years and have always had a great experience. The pricing for storage was very fair and they did really meticulous repairs to keep my coat in good condition. I called this week to pick up my coat and spoke to a girl who was very professional and helpful. When I called back to confirm my pick up, I spoke to a man who kept calling me baby and made me really uncomfortable. When I went in to get the coat, I was surprised to see a completely new staff. Some of the staff were friendly, but overall I did not feel welcome and the vibe was totally different. Also I don't think they conditioned my fur, which I paid extra for. I doubt I'll store my coat here next winter. read more

I'm waiting over 3 weeks for a mink coat that I ordered custom made from Konstantine. They have brought me in several times for fittings where I complained about the tightness in the arm area. I think I'm going to ask for my money back tomorrow. I was expecting a better experience from a small family owned company. What a disappointment. **UPDATE**Okay, it's now one month since my initial order and I have my fur and I love it! The tightness problem was resolved and I was promised a year's free alterations PLUS first year free storage. I just came in today to have a toggle added and a lining repair, which was done while I waited. Kerli is a wonderful seamstress and a pleasure to deal with. I always feel cold and wear multiple layers of clothing. I've tried other types of outerwear but a fur is the only thing that handles the cold. I'm wearing my fur all day long at my workplace due to the cold, and I've received many compliments. Naturally in situations with new people my coat is well-received and in general my relationships are impressed with my purchase. Of course there is the threat that PETA may spoil my coat but so far only one person gave me dirty looks. I am walking the streets and riding the subways without issue so far. I'll take a taxi if I feel there is any kind of risk to my safety. read more

I specifically went to New York to get a shearling coat. There are three stores on that block and within no time I found a coat close to what I wanted and got measured to have a coat made. Six days later the coat has been shipped to me in NJ and it is seriously perfect. I am so grateful that I didn't settle for a coat off the rack at a local store. (There aren't many stores that even carry shearling.) They had a sample coat that I liked. I took the advice of the sales person, Ronald, and the seamstress; Between the two of them they tweaked that design to come up with the perfect coat for me. I am beyond impressed. I highly recommend. Purchased a fur poncho which I was told initially that it was a reversible until I went back to pick it up. Buttons that i purchased and wanted placed on it were misplaced which caused a delay in getting my coat. Very disappointing. Next coat will be with someone else. read more

Not sure where Konstantine has been hiding, but I am so happy to have found him and although I made the conscious decision not to bore him with the entire story of how I discovered him, it was completely by accident. Now that I have uncovered where some of the most unusual and creative shearling coat designs are being created, my life is now complete. I loved being able to talk to someone who is truly knowledgeable about shearling. He knows his stuff and it shows. He offers the unusual and you will be pleasantly surprised. I wish I could rate this establishment with rotten tomatoes As a rating! My coat is now garbage my beautiful mink jacket is torn at the sleeve ( which was not there when I gave it to them)the lining that I paid good money to have put in looks like an amateur did it! It's not even finished! I'm going back this week to see if they will correct this issue I will be glad to revise my review after my visit for corrections. I'm just very disappointed. read more

I purchased a beautiful custom shearling (the long-haired Toscana type) here some years back. I love the coat and wear it frequently. They have a bigger selection than you think when you first enter, and can alter or make from scratch any style you want with any fur you want. When I bought my shearling, I specified the style of cuffs from one coat and the collar from another and I wanted pockets, etc. In any case, what motivated me to post a review now is a recent experience. In early January, I realized there was a tiny rip under the left armhole. When I called, they said to bring it in so they could have a look at it. To my surprise, when I brought in the coat a week later, they fixed the tear on the spot at no charge! The owner was there and I did tell him upfront that I have had the coat about 5 years, but still they didn't charge me for the repair. I am so pleased with the service, that I really want to buy another coat from them as I know they will stand behind their work. read more
