Yeah, this place really does have some history, and the rollar coaster is literally heritage listed (and still operational, in normal times that is). It's definitely worth checking out, unless you aren't an amusement park type of person that is.

It's more Coney Island old school than the real place. There's (no kidding) the world's oldest working roller coaster at this park. My kid loved it (and so did everyone else). So if you've got a couple hours to spare, and you're in St. Kilda anyway, do yourself a favor and step inside -- your kids will beam with joy. We were in all parts of Melbourne and Victoria, and maybe I'm biased because the kids had so much fun, but Luna is one of the top things we did while in Victoria.

Higher still sits the clubhouse, which is converged on by football teams and their families and coaches come weekends. There is a football oval on the right and it is common to see kids down here practicing. Next to the carpark and furthest from the footy oval is a decent sized playground. It too was being utilized by a group of children - perhaps because of school holidays, I'm not too sure. Either way the playground looked good enough to warrant decent popularity. There are a few different ways to enter the park on foot and there are walking tracks provided for convenience. I really liked that there was a row of pine trees lining the edge of the park and separating it from the road. It made the park look a lot nicer and contributed to its more upper class feel - well as upper class as a park can feel when there are kids everywhere. It is a nice place for a walk, and great if your personal trainer has told you to find some hills to run up - yep, that was the reason I was there. Warning - there are some real calf-killing hills so I wouldn't let your personal trainer find out about it or you'll be there faster than you can blink!

Big issues The "toddler area" is not closed off from children of all other ages. The result is much older children causing havoc in the area, and parents of tiny babies and young toddlers becoming very nervous, then frustrated and I saw an altercation between the mum of a young girl maybe 7-12 months and the mother of a 7 year old boy who was chasing 2 other kids through the area, climbing onto the roof of the toddler play area and jumping down and using the toddler tunnel as a hurdle. Understandably as Mums of small children, my son is one, we were distressed that not one staff member addressed this issue at all. I would recommend this play centre for older kids where mums can use the opportunity to sit down and have a coffee while their kids play. It's not ideal for little ones That being said there is a "supermarket" and "animal hospital" play area on the right as you walk in, we didn't go to this area as our son is more interested in climbing, slides and bouncing balls than dolls or mock supermarkets. So I can't really comment on that area. $10 for my son and $2.50 per adult it's not a cheap afternoon by any means

What I have tried on numerous occasions are their squash courts. There are 10 international standard squash courts including a four walled glass show court. The courts are the best that we play on in our league (on a par with Moorabbin). They are quicker than most around the circuit but I'm a fan. If I lived next door to MSAC, I would play a hell of a lot more sports here. A great venue for all sports.

This is actually quite a nice foreshore park. It is a decent size, and of course it is near the…read morebeach. They have some nice facilities here, but I wasn't too keen on the toilets, namely because there were only three, meaning that you might actually have to wait a bit to use them. Still, it's a pretty cool park, and does have a nice playground as well, and a nice view over the beach, and the bay.

King Parade Playground has recently been re-vamped and all the equipment is brand new. It is a…read moremodest playground but it has plenty of grassy areas surrounding it and is great for kicking a ball around or any game requiring serious room. It borders both King Parade and Norma Crescent South in Knoxfield, as it is located on empty blocks of land on a suburban street. It also acts as a useful cut through between these streets- well, for me anyway. Small green plants and large rocks line the footpath on either end of the park - kids seem to enjoy jumping from rock to rock. I have never seen the park particularly busy which is always a nice thing - it means you don't ever really have to wait for someone else to finish with a piece of equipment. It has two swings - one baby and one adult size. There are also two wooden park benches to sit on that face the playground. These are perfectly placed for any adults supervising their kids. When it rains the park gets really muddy and slushy. You will get mud splashes on your clothes if you walk across it when it is like this, so if you're using it as a cut through only I would definitely avoid using it on wet days. Otherwise it is a pretty good playground and park. I happily recommend it.
