Josh and the service team impressed me for my first visit to get a major recall done and some odds and ends fixed. Online scheduling was excellent (though it doesn't seem like the description of the issue forwards properly to the service advisor), and communication--especially over text messaging--has been stellar. I've received follow up calls and Josh gave me options throughout the repair to save some money. The waiting room is not fancy, but decent, and everyone has been very helpful and polite. I hope they offer their concierge service long term... I'd love to try that out next time! read more

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on March 1, 2025, and it has been the worst dealership experience I've ever had. At the time of purchase, I was issued a 60-day temporary registration. When those 60 days expired, I received a notice from the MVA stating that my insurance had lapsed and that my registration and tags had been suspended. By then, I was living six hours away from the dealership. When I contacted the MVA, I was told the dealership had never submitted the proper paperwork to complete the title and registration transfer. Assuming it was an honest mistake, I contacted the dealership. They assured me they would fix the issue and even claimed they had resubmitted the paperwork. Shortly afterward, my mother (my home of record) received a check from the dealership made out to me. There was no phone call, no email, no letter--absolutely no explanation. I assumed it was related to my trade-in and deposited it. Fast forward a year. When it came time to renew my registration, I logged into the MVA website only to discover that my vehicle had NEVER been registered and my tags had NEVER been transferred. I now live over 16 hours away because of my job and learned that I had unknowingly been driving an unregistered vehicle for over a year. Even worse, the tags on my Jeep were still associated with my previous Camaro. The dealership completely failed to process one of the most basic and critical parts of the sale. At no point did anyone contact me to explain there was a problem. Every update came because I reached out first. Had I been pulled over at any point during the last year, I could have faced significant fines and legal consequences for driving an unregistered vehicle through no fault of my own. To make matters worse, I recently tried contacting the dealership multiple times, including leaving two voicemails for management, and never received a return call. The only positive part of this entire experience was finally speaking with one employee who took the time to investigate what happened. He was professional, knowledgeable, and transparent about the errors that occurred. Unfortunately, because the unexplained check had already been cashed, there was nothing they were willing or able to do to correct the situation. I've purchased three vehicles from this dealership over the years because their sales staff has always been great. Unfortunately, a good sales team means very little when the back-office processes are this careless. The lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through is completely unacceptable. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, double-check every document yourself and never assume the dealership completed the paperwork correctly. Verify your registration, title, and tag transfer immediately instead of trusting that everything was handled. I made that mistake, and it turned into a year-long nightmare. Between coupon mailer and GM points we actually find going to the dealership quite affordable. The oil our truck uses can be difficult to get changed at a drive through because most oil change garages don't carry it. Customer service is polite and accommodating. My experience with Koons White Marsh and General Motors has been nothing short of outrageous. Their service department did absolutely nothing to help me. No solutions, no accountability, not even basic customer care. Just excuses, deflection, and a shocking lack of professionalism. GM was no better--hiding behind technicalities rather than standing behind their product or doing right by the customer. Between the dealership and the manufacturer, it felt like everyone's priority was avoiding responsibility instead of fixing the problem. I recently purchased a used car from Koon Chevy on Labor Day weekend. The car was clean and was in great condition. After purchasing the car I noticed a noise consistently on the passenger side. I reached out to my salesman (Mac) and was directed to service. Spoke with the lead service tech (Brian) and they identified the noise as the air filter and changed it hoping to fix the issue. The issue was not fixed. I called back a second time and asked to speak with Mac (salesman) and he stated he would call me back with information since the noise was not fixed. That did not happen. I called on my own and spoke with service and set up my own appointment. Went back in, and spoke to Brian (service tech) and he said he would call me with any update. That did not happen. I got a call from another man who said they would have to send my car to Honda because of the noise but he thinks he may know what it is. He attempted to fix it and gave me back the car. The car still makes the noise. After all my troubles I decided to call the manager Manny and discuss my experience. He stated he would call me back and see what they could do. He never called back. A week later I called title work to see if my title work was started. The work was never started and they were missing paperwork. After I finally spoke with someone I am pleased to say, the title work has been started and sent. Thank you so much April in the accounting department. After my poor experience with this dealership I decided to call the GM and express my concerns and experience. Rich (GM) and I had a very productive conversation, so I thought. He stated how sorry he was and that he would call me back to see how we could fix my car that is still making the NOISE! I have not heard from anyone at the dealership since. I have been patient and have given them multiple situations to make my experience better. At this point, I am ready to receive my title work and tags because it seems customer service is not a priority for this company. I do not recommend buying a used car from this dealership. I called these folks and got put in touch with a "Mac". I dealt with Mac, told him what vehicle I wanted specifically and to run some numbers for me. He did that, the numbers looked good and I scheduled an appt with him as he told me he was going to grab the keys. I drove the 30 minutes at the designated time only to for Mac to delay me, profusely offer unaccepted bottles of water then come to tell me some sob story about how some other salesman took the keys and now the vehicle is unavailable. The next sentenced from him was abruptly interrupted at "Can I...". The bottom line for me is that I should have been called but no right, get the customer in the door. It's all good for me as I jumped over to a different dealer 10 miles away who was fantastic from beginning to end and I got the same vehicle that I wanted, and it was a significant purchase. Simple shit like that doesn't just lose one customer but the extremely large extended catholic family to which that person belongs. read more

I do not approve of getting ripped off or being taken advantage of. This department and its managers have proven to be unethical. I went to get an estimate to install a minor piece of my front bumper. They estimated $600 to install the part, claiming it would take 4 hours to complete. After doing my research, I realized it was a 5 minute job. I went to another GM Chevrolet dealership that gave a free estimate and only charged $60 to install the part. I have been a loyal customer of Koons White Marsh since 2017. The service department has lost my trust. I do not recommend or support this department. read more

UPDATE: Dan admitted when they road tested it they were able to recreate it jerking into gear but said there's nothing they can do as it didn't register any codes. This is unacceptable. There is many things you can do to check a transmission. However because my warranty expires at the end of the year I'm sure they are playing the waiting game. I am extremely frustrated and have had enough of this dealership. I bought my car a little over a month ago and was pleased. In less than two weeks, my brakes were squeaking and had reached the point where I couldn't lower my windows due to the noise. I had an appointment, and it was good for about 2 days until they went back to how they were. In the following days, my check engine light turned on, and the AC doesn't work anymore. I tried calling to get my car looked at, and had no dates open until the following week, which I was frustrated with. I go in for my appointment, and now they're saying it's gonna take 2 days to just get looked at. I work everyday and i don't know what to do. We coordinated a deal over the phone since I was more than an hour away. They were in possession of my driver license, USAA insurance card and USAA funding doc since I wasn't using their financing. I take a $100 Uber ride only to be told I needed to fill out an OFAC form which includes the SSN. I said I'm not doing that. They at first tried to say it was a legal requirement. I said that's not true. I purchased 3 cars in the last few years due to wanting an EV and the battery recall. The Patriot Act specifically calls for a name check against a list. Not a SSN. The dealerships use the form to gain your consent for a credit check. The manager then says how do I know you are you. SMH. He goes on to say I have to wait for the payment to clear from USAA to take the car. That's crazy cause USAA pays via check. And you can't tell me, I'm this area they haven't dealt with USAA before. To check my identity, they could have simply called USAA to verify my account and info. Additionally you sign contracts so how is running my credit makes me qualified to take the car before the check comes in? Dishonest practice and handling. UPDATE: Read the response and even that is disingenuous. OFAC has nothing to do with fraud. They require a name be checked against a terrorist list, not your SSN. So if they were concerned about fraud require more than one forms of official ID. Burns me up when companies lie like this. UPDATE 2:::: Right after this interaction I found and purchased a 2022 Bolt EV 2LT from Ted Britt. And guess what, no OFAC madness. Deal over the phone, sent them my driver license, insurance card and funding doc. For extra discount I provided my school transcripts...all had the same address. I signed the electronic eligible docs via docu-sign before I arrived, upon getting to the dealership I signed a few others that required wet signatures then I was out. Easy peasy. Only giving a one star because I can't give zero. Purchased a 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette as a military retirement gift to myself. 1) Greedy: Charged over MSRP. I wanted a Z06 but Koons charges 60-70k over on Z06s. I said no way and went with the Stingray which they also overcharged for. 2) Incompetence: When I picked up my car I inquired about a red engine cover that was supposed to come with my car. They were adamant it didn't. Three months after the fact I was given the cover which I had to make a separate appointment to get installed. Had to take off of work and wasted time, mileage, gas. Worst part a rock flew and chipped my car windshield on the way home. 3) Incomplete delivery: I was not given all the accessories that I was supposed to get with my vehicle. Six months later, and I'm still finding out I didn't receive all my items. They are "looking" for the missing items now. 4) Dishonest: On the day of pickup they basically handed me my keys and were like "here you go."They didn't give me a walk-through of the cars functions, yet wanted me to leave them an all 5-star review with Chevrolet stating anything less than 5-stars was a failure to them. One of the questions on the survey was "did they give you a complete and thorough walkthrough and explanation of your vehicles functions. 5) Vehicle Damaged: They damaged my vehicle and ripped the paint off of the rear bumper. They said they would pay for the repair but their repair was SUB-PAR / unacceptable. I said I needed the bumper to look brand new and undamaged. They emailed me saying if that was the case I would need to contact my insurance and start a claim. 6) Ignoring the problem: I've contacted their customer service lead three times and left messages on their answering machine. I've also contacted their general manager and got his answering machine. No one has called me back. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Go some place else that cares about the customer and just not the $... There's no point making an appointment. I made an appointment over a week in advance to diagnose a check engine light. I was told the price. I dropped my car off the day before. I used to run a garage, an engine light diag doesn't take long at all. By 3pm, NO ONE checked it. I picked up my keys. UPDATE: The service manager called me and offered to do the first hour diagnosis for free. I'll most likely set an appointment and go back. *NEW UPDATE* I never went back. The service manager did offer to diag the engine light for free but then said he wouldn't charge me for "first hour". That may also be how long the diag is but when we spoke he explained a diag could take longer. I really don't have time for double talk and I don't have time for my car sitting all day. He then stated "I know you want to hit me with it". Who said that? I never gave any indication that I wanted to assault Mr. Davis. Mr. Davis's actions and customs services are unacceptable, and dissatisfying. I arrived at Koons White Marsh Chevrolet at 8:30 am for a 9:00 am appointment. I was expecting to be there for 3 to 5 hours because that is how long they always take, which is absolutely unacceptable! Then they did end up only taking 3 hours, but when they gave me my car, the tire that they replaced it with looked used, so I asked them if they gave me a used or new tire, and they said they gave me a new tire. The tire looked like it was used or the same tire that they took off originally. And it looked like they just made it face the wheel well to disguise the fact that it was the same tire. I was supposed to be getting a new tire, and my computer system in the car was supposed to be reprogrammed because there was a recall on it. So I left with what they had given me. When I was almost home, the tire went flat, so I had to sit on the side of the road for about 35 to 40 minutes for a tow truck. When I arrived back at the dealership, even though they knew I was coming back, they waited until I got back to them, and then they ordered a new tire. So I had to then want another 2 hours for the new tire to come in when they should have ordered the new tire when they knew I was on my way back to them in need of a new tire. I did not end up leaving the dealership until 3:00 pm. Needless to say, the service was really unacceptable. read more

To that end, Chevrolet was due to reimburse me for my car rental. After months of consistent follow-up with the service department rep, who failed to follow-up with me multiple times, I finally received a partial refund. Great experience with Koons White Marsh Chevrolet! I am very particular about my vehicles. I choose carefully and then keep them for a long while. It was time for a new vehicle and I found one on Koon's website that I liked. I called to inquire about it, which led to a test drive, and ultimately purchasing it. My salesman, Sidney Brooks, was terrific. Very helpful and great communication. It was very easy to work with him. When we got to the paperwork, Jason in finance was also terrific to work with. He provided some great options and explanations for additional coverage packages to go along with the vehicle. Overall I was extremely pleased with the service and definitely recommend this dealership, and specifically Sidney and Jason! The dealership keeps a large inventory of vehicles on the premises, which is an added bonus if you are considering different models and want to compare them. Five Stars! read more

So why did I pay $134.95 diagnosis fee for your tech to tell me the power steering pump and hose was bad and not have you do the work to replace them? Because your repair estimate was way too high! It was a verbal estimate that Brian Hastmann gave me over the phone. I felt that your prices for the repair was way over inflated and told him not to do the work. He said your company had a 90 day interest free loan you offered but I would still paying the high price repair. That's why I call around and got a lower estimate and had the repairs done at Jim Barbey Automotive. By the way I call Jim Barbey automotive and told them this situation and they said no one had called them to ask about a steering pump and hose repair estimate for a 2017 Chevy traverse. Fairly terrible experience here I went in asked Koons service department to check my car for a faulty wheel bearing and to check if either of my tie rods and or ball joints had failed Instead, I got a $2,700 price quote that included a myriad of "scheduled maintenance" related things that had nothing to do with what I brought the car in for in the first place They then quoted a price of $900 to put on two front tires. The exact same two front tires I had put on my car at Sullivan Tire that I had been charged for, including installation, for $450. The price difference reasoning? They were attempting to charge me $500 in labor to put on two tires. Considering Sullivan Tire put on the exact same two tires for $50 in labor, it seemed as though an additional $450 in labor to put on the same two tires was a bit extreme At the end of putting the tires on and getting a front end alignment, they then tell me the car is ready to be picked up. I asked them if my bearings, tie rods or ball joints were looked at and the response was, yeah I think your front drivers side wheel bearing may be off. After they finished the work they wanted to do and long after I asked them to check that particular issue out So to sum up. I went there asking for something specific to be looked at. They didn't look at it. They gave me a quote for nearly $3,000 worth of service related things I never asked them for. They then quoted me $450 more in labor to put on the exact same two tires I had put on for $50 in labor at another tire dealer. And in the end, they never even checked on the things I asked them to check on when I brought the car into their dealership in the first place I then bring my car to a "real" mechanic after leaving Koons and they tell me both my wheel bearings need to be replaced. This again being the thing I brought my car to Koons for in the first place but they didn't want to address that. Instead, they wanted to give me a $3,000 quote of services I didn't need and then followed that winning move up by trying to charge me $500 in labor to mount two lousy tires To say "never go to this dealership for service" would be a gross understatement. Service shops run like these are the worst kind. Not only are they focused solely on trying to quote you on services you don't need while ignoring what you ask them for. When they do actually do what you ask them to, they try charging you $500 to put on two tires other tire dealers, such as Sullivan Tire, do for $50 less in labor. So in other words, Koons is up-charge city when it comes to labor Stay away from Koons Chevrolet. I am currently financing a car with Koons and I have to say, for three years now I'm very satisfied. The staff is extremely friendly and I don't have issues with my car and if I do I have an extended warranty. The only downfall that I personally HATE is that they have very limited service hours and they're closed on Sundays. On top of that, you have to drop off your car either during the day before 4pm or on Saturday which no matter what the issue is they're always backed up and the wait time is LONG ASF! I went for an oil change and for them to check my air filter and waited 5 hours! I told the manager and he apologized. If it wasn't for the long/unpredictable wait time and weird hours, I would have given them a perfect 5/5. Even the waiting room is very nice, they have cookies and coffee available and toys for the kids and a tv. If you want a shuttle service they'll take you within a 10 mile radius. The used car manager Jerry insisted that they have to do a hard pull on my credit to identify me even after collecting my state issued drivers license. Store policy he said, unless I will give him the bank check and come back after 10 days to pick up the car if I do not want him to run a hard pull on my credit. It all shows the very bad business Practice KOONs dealerships employ to make an extra buck. Pressuring potential clients to run a hard credit pull in the name of verifying their identity is completely absurd. No state, local or federal law mandates that if the client has already secured financing from another lender/ bank. At the most, do an OFAC search which does not require a hard pull. It all started at Koons Chevrolet in White Marsh. I traded in one car for another and they totally botched the registration for my current vehicle. I phoned them and was told that it's in my lap now that I had to go to the MVA and we all know that's a treat. After many phone calls to the dealer I asked to speak to the general manager of course not available, I left my cell number around 11:00 a.m. for a return call that NEVER came through to me. Finally I had to make an appointment with the MVA and finally got my registration corrected. Looks like they lost a repeat customer! read more

Rude service advisors Kourtney and Josh don't listen because they think they're always right and the customer knows nothing about their own car. Had my car for over a week before finally test driving it and finding the problem I described. Wanted me to pay 3500.00 to replace parts I had already replaced 4 days prior. Total rip off. Claimed that the aftermarket parts and cold air intake I put on the car were causing the issue which existed before I replaced the parts. Never again! read more

I honestly wished I saved my money and never came to this location to purchase a vehicle. Whomever does the used car inspections should be fired. My vehicle failed safety inspection for having more then the allowed rust on the rotor. 50% of the inside rotor was covered with rust, how do you miss that on a vehicle inspection. I had a bad brake pulsation at 40mph which I told them about,front and rear brake pads were at 2 and 3mm also it's missing screws that hold down the dash. They did absolutely nothing to this vehicle to prepare it to be sold. After numerous calls to speak with a sales manager or general manager I gave up. So I'm now posting this as a buyer beware, don't purchase a used vehicle from this location save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Can someone explain this to me? In a world where you have to order a new vehicle because dealers have no inventory. You put a deposit down, order exactly what you want. Wait 4 months for it to be built and arrive to the dealership. You go to the dealer and inspect your ordered vehicle. You tell the dealership ok let me get my trade ready and my financing in order. Dealership say ok but we can't wait more then 24 hours to "hold" your order vehicle that again you put a deposit on to order. You then are in constant contact with your sales man every step of the process. Arrange a time to take delivery of your vehicle. To be told the dealership SOLD your vehicle first thing the next morning! Time-line sales manager at 8:30 pm on a Thursday says 24 hours. So according to sales Manger by 8:30 pm on Friday you must give answer or the will sell it at 8:31 pm. You message sale man all day on Friday start at 9 am. Sales man was off on friday so you make the arrangements to do the deal on Saturday as to not make him come in on his day off. You can't make this stuff up Koon Chevrolet Whitemarsh has a lot of explain to do and owes a vehicle that was order and the deposit for that was given to order this vehicle! read more
