Selecting a single star rating does not do justice to the experience, as I found the final product, repair of a 2010 Lexus 350 RX, Pinoneer amplifier to as promised, the journey was a white water ride. I did the removal and reinstallation, my location ~ 300 miles from Pikesville, MD. For remote customers, be prepared to have everything via phone word of mouth, and confusing, conflicting online chat by the service department. I was told one thing, then something else would occur only to learn by calling days after I was told they would get back to me. Evan, by phone always polite if not unable to provide information, I felt a 5 star company serve representatives should have at their fingertips. We would promise to call back later in the day, would get back with limited information over the course of a few days. There was always someone else with the information, that some else was never around for him to contact while we were speaking. The total cost of the repair included $125 for diagnostic and $425 for the repair, both done by OEM Auto Audion in Manlius NY. I was told the unit would be shipped to me direct from NY at no shipping cost to me, while in fact it was returned to Sound Solution in Pikesville MD. The journey took ~ 5 weeks without so much as written confirmation of the order, invoice, or guarantee. I was told they do not accept third party forms of payment (Paypal, Venmo, nor check) only credit card number over the phone! Without so much anything in writing, they had my deposit (via check) and the unit; I felt comfortable releasing the credit card information. A relative in the Pikesville area picked up the repaired unit, pay via credit card in person, and shipped it to me at my expense $30. The cost including shipping ~ $600; ~ the cost of a rebuilt on e-bay. I felt it was better to have mine repaired than an unknown unit. read more

Everyone be aware of this dishonest business. I will share my honest genuine experience with this dishonest establishment. I drive two sport cars, I took my Audi TT to them in Jan 2019 . They did a good job on it (although I didn't open the dash to see what mess they might'd made) .I decided to make an appointment to have them install Security Alarm on my Mercedes SLK which is my Summer and my project car and was 85% done. All dashboard panels were purchased OEM Brand NEW from Mercedes Benz dealership in April and March I had to wait a few weeks for parts to arrive brand new from Germany. After all parts had arrived I painted them with special original paint straight from Germany and after I was done painting I made appointment with my personal car mechanic and he put the dashes in very carefully and gently as he knew this car has been very special sentimental for me for past 9 years. My mechanic took pictures of before and after installing the panels which all was shown including the process and done extremely carefully as he understood my attachment to this car as i made it known to them the same way. When I made an appointment at Sound Solutions and they asked me to come at 9:30am on Wednesday. When I showed up for my appointment I clearly and slowly indicated them this car is super special for me and I need to be present when the Tech open the under steering dash and when he put them back after he finished the work. The guy at the counter refused to do it and said this is not their policy to let someone walking inside the work shop but we take great pride of in all our work and we take pictures and videos of all our work before and after so I was convinced they doing the right thing. After waiting a long 3 1/2 hours right after I picked up my car the tall long hair guy (I don't remember his name) he looked very agitated and something must've gone wrong so 10 minutes later I parked my car on the side of the road and removed the air vent which was very wobbly and saw the dash is broken where the screws going to someone must've tightened them too much and it cracked the left side of the dash panel. After this I contacted my mechanic and he confirmed he got the pictures after he finished his job in June 8th 2022 and everything was done correctly. Then after I confirmed this I called than Sound solutions 30 minutes after and explained what happened they denied any responsibility and I need to go back to them to check it out. when I went there the guy there claimed the panel is 2 pieces so they only touched the underneath but I know its all one piece . They asked me to come come back tomorrow because the guy that opened the dash is gone for the day and coming back tomorrow . I came back today drove all the way from Annapolis early morning so the installer came out and looked at my car in parking lot and left. He claimed he didn't do this despite their video they have only shows before car went in for service and no after video which is extremely suspicious. If it was all intact why didn't they take after videos? I have video and photos where it shows where the screws damaged the panels and they claim this is nothing to do with them. It is my fault and they are not responsible therefore I showed them the bill of brand new purchase parts and my mechanic shop install them professionally since the have been working on it for past 8 years sense I owned the car. They asked us to leave and threatened to call the police. They cussed us out and was flipping us off. These people are not capable of taking a job done properly and not honest people working there. I wouldn't even trust them with a Junkyard car. I will see them in court. Officially the worst of the worst car experience of my life yet. It is just about the principal not about the money at this point. Just baffled how this business is still operating. The reviews on google must be fake or affiliated with owners/employees or families writing fake reviews so people believe them being legit. I do not ever recommend to take your car here unless you don't care for it. I recommend every single person taking their car there to check every single dash the remove and inspect every single thing and take videos and pictures of everything before you take it there. They do not see themselves responsible for anything at all, even something that can be proven to be their mistake. I will definitely take them to court with all my evidence and testimonies. It's not about the money it's about the principle of a business being honest and treating their customers with respect. I prefer small business but this one definitely needs to take a few business lessons or closes their business. Again don't support these dishonest people. read more

Found Sound Solutions through an Internet search. I have a full-sized van with a wheelchair lift. My kids are all grown now so I thought it was time to clean about ten years of grime from the interior and have the outside of the van cleaned as well. I also decided to get rid of the stock radio and upgrade with a unit that had Apple Play so I can use my iPhone with it. My front speakers were dry rotted and crackled when playing so I had those replaced. I bought a new radio off Amazon and the associated hardware needed for the install. Sound Solutions gladly installed everything and recommended new speakers which they had in stock. All in all, the installation was seamless and looks beautiful and sounds terrific! I received a very personal and indeph experience. Here's what I went in for. I went online and bought my own head unit and most of the necessary parts. Only thing i didn't buy was the antenna adapter and the trim kit which i was expecting to be charged for. I had already talked to Scott and got a rough estimate which was at worse case scenario $450 to install my head unit plus backup camera and dash cam. Appointment was at 10 am and I arrived about 940 and I was greeted nicely by the first guy I encountered. I told him who I was and that I had an appointment. I presented the unit I was getting installed and I was advised that most of these units are having problems. So they work on it while I watch TV and can see a little bit into the garage. It's a pretty nice waiting area. They was pretty much done by 1pm and they took my car out of the garage and got me and told me it was done. I didn't expect them to be able to explain how my unit works because I purchased it elsewhere. Everything works great and looks good.  Looks like I professional install. Upon checking out my stereo I noticed that I was having a problem with the phone bluetooth connection in relation to call audio. Scott and his associates were eager to assist me in problem solving the issue. Unfortunately this is a unit issue (Atoto A6 Pro with gestures).  But rest assure they did their best to isolate and fix the problem. Shows that they are very knowledgeable about head units and issues. Scott and his staff goes above and beyond to to accommodate you and make sure you're comfortable with their work. I cannot recommend a better place to have anything done to your car audio installation and as a result I will always be going back to have my new unit installed. It's a personal experience by appointment and don't have a garage with a lot of vehicles in it. They adhere to the appointment time and conduct themselves professionally and take their time to make sure that the job is done right. They will not rush to get you out and the next car in. It's like having your own personal audio expert. 10/10 recommend. Don't shop around just go to Sound Solutions. UPDATE: I received my new unit and it was installed at no extra cost. It was just a unit swap. I was continuing to have the same issue so myself and the Sound Solutions staff began researching and contacting the manufacturer. After 3 days of coming back to Sound Solution Scott figured out the problem wasn't with the unit it was with the PAC that I had purchased from Amazon. This company stayed by my side to help figure out and solve the problem with no other motive than to get it done right. I'm completely satisfied. Any other place would have been tired of seeing me by day 2. I couldn't have asked for better service. read more

So, so, so happy with Sound Solutions! After my little boy put change in my CD slot I resigned myself to never playing CDs in my car again, because I thought it would be difficult to find someone to do the work, and probably expensive. I mean, who wants to work on factory-issued, basic car audio systems? And won't I get a huge sales pitch to purchase a bunch of new equipment? Turns out none of those worries came true. Sean and Scott were super helpful, really quick, and talked me through all the work they did. And their workspace is really pleasant to wait in, especially with two kids (they ran around in the yard!). I don't have a reference point for pricing, but they were clear throughout the process about the costs involved so there weren't any surprises at the end. I am so glad I found Sound Solutions! Long story short: I went to a different place to get a powered sub installed. That place took almost 4 hours to do the install and they did a terrible job cleaning everything up. Well a couple of weeks ago the sub stopped working and I thought another one of my speakers blew out. Since I had zero confidence in the place I went to first, I searched for a new place. I found Sound Solutions and they saw me right away. They took a look at everything and determined no speaker was blown and in fact, they sounded excellent. The only problem was the powered sub woofer. Danny was so great in explaining the situation and going over available options. Because he was so honest I went a head and purchased a new sub woofer and he did an excellent job installing it. It was professional, clean and no wires were exposed and hanging out. Danny also listened to a variety of music to make sure the speakers and sub were producing the best possible sound. I wish I had found this place first but glad that I finally did.
