When it comes to playing games, this place is giving Milton Bradley a run for its money. I looked at a car, took the rate sheet home to sleep on it and then emailed *that night* and said I'd be coming in the next morning to look at it again (and bring a check from my bank to buy the damn thing.) Wouldn't you know, as I'm on my way over with the check (at 10 in the morning no less) the car is suddenly being sold to someone else. When I protested that I emailed the night before to say I was coming in the morning, all their sales manager could say was "sorry, we're a high volume dealership." My overall experience was fantastic! Upon arriving at the dealership, I was treated like royalty. My salesperson Kelvin Dyson was magnificent, knowledgeable, and professional. He went out of his way to listen to what I wanted in a vehicle and where I wanted to be with my payments. Because of his expertise, care and understanding, I purchased two cars; one for me and one for my college-aged son. Additionally, management was friendly and made the process effortless. I was at a GMC BUIICK dealer earlier in the day a couple Sat. ago. Very busy with 3 salesman. The Sales manager even jumped in pulled up a couple vehicles for me to test drive. Fast forward 445PM that same day walked in to Koons with not, but two other customers and countless sales folks. Guy greets me Do you want something? I then said I'd like to test drive a Tahoe he looks me up & down then said a used one right. I really wanted to drive and buy the High Country, but it was gone. I have been in the service industry as well as automotive biz for years this is no way to treat a potential buyer. Does the attire of a polo & khakis scream I can't afford a new vehicle. I did the test drive away, but wouldn't buy a wagon from this guy. You should send your sales team to the GMC Buick dealer in Haford County for schooling. They get CUSTOMER SERVICE this guy did not! Stay away from this place. They are crooks. First let me say that I have been a mechanic and a car guy my entire life at 50. So, I'm not some ignorant person off of the streets when it comes to cars. I recently did some work to my Grand Prix, but reluctantly decided to have a few other things done by the dealership that I just didn't feel like doing. I scheduled service online detailing that I had two front struts to be installed. I wanted an alignment. I wanted the A/C charged. And keys that I already had cut, just programmed. I also asked them to look at the emergency brake because it wasn't working after I replaced my calipers. "Josh" called me after my mother dropped off the car. And asked again about what I wanted done just to be clear. And I repeated my list. He then called back later and said the total for everything that I wanted would be $765.00. But the E brake would be another 800.00. Which was ridiculous. So I declined that. And said proceed with the rest. He then said that the A/C also had a leak and needed a high pressure side valve. Which I know to be a 10.00 valve and 15 minutes to replace. So, I said again to proceed. Thinking that it was included in the original price that he just quoted. The next day I get a text saying that the struts that I had weren't the right ones. But, don't worry. "I have the ones that you need, he said". "And oh, btw I forgot to put the strut installation cost in the original quote". The total will now be 1900.00! What?! I was not happy! I said do not do the struts or the alignment then, that is insane. So then I go to pick the car up and I'm still charged the 765.00! And all they did was program 2 keys at 150.00. Another 150.00 to charge my A/C. And 465.00 to put a 10.00 valve on! So, I had 2 less services performed from the original quote. And was still charged the same money! The simply jacked up the cost of the valve replacement to the same amount as the original quote for everything. This guy was determined to cheat me one way or another! I will absolutely never be back there for any repair or maintenance on any of my vehicles. And I have been looking at Camaro's lately. But I damn sure won't buy one from these cheats. Do yourself a favor too. And go somewhere else. read more

Dropped my car off cause the radio had no sound. Service found water in my trunk that shorted the amp, but also said a fuse box, body control module and body control harness had to be replaced due to being in the water. Estimate was around $4500.00 to replace all but was told to put in an insurance claim as the last couple they did were covered under insurance. Insurance adjuster went to my car a few days later than the estimate jumped to $8200.00. My guess was cause now Koon's can charge the insurance company all except my deductible. I was told they have all the parts but the harness and that would take a couple weeks to come in. After 3 weeks I get a call, now my bill is over $8700.00 so I am not happy and tell the service manager. Now I feel that Koon's is just padding the bill and feel like I am being ripped off. 4 weeks in and haven't heard nothing so I stop by the service department to be told they had the wrong fuse box and it was loss in shipping. So why didn't they check to see if the parts were correct the first week?? Why did it take 4 weeks to figure out the wrong part. A few days later I get a text my car is ready. (no call or nothing). I go to pick up my car now my bill is over $9000.00. Never told anything. I was told service offers a military discount of 10%. Asked about it while picking up my car. Service Manager (George) tells me they won't apply the 10% to the total bill just the part above the insurance estimate, so I get only $83.00 off the bill. I don't get that, service is service no matter how it is paid. Seems like Koon's is now not only is ripping me off but my insurance too. Get into my car and the radio still has no sound (original problem I had). Drive it back into service only to be told by the service manager (George) I must not know what I'm doing cause he gave the car to one of his porters to drive around for 30 minutes and everything worked. He goes to the car, radio no sound. Tells me to wait in waiting room while he takes it for 10 minutes. Comes back and says I need to leave my car and now offers me a loaner car. 2 days later my car is ready for pick up. Seems whoever put the amp in didn't know it had to be programmed to the car. I would think that a Chevy dealership would know how to replace parts in their car and all that is involved. The body control harness they replaced goes to everything inside the interior of the car including airbags. Now I have to worry can I trust that the work done was done correctly and everything is connected right. Why wouldn't a service manager check out my car after the work? They let a porter (I have no idea his experience with cars) drive it to determine my car was fixed correctly. I am not happy with feeling ripped off by the bill doubling from the estimate. I feel the manager is just trying to increase his monthly bonus on my back. I am not happy after 4 weeks that my car still wasn't fixed after being told it was. I have always used Koon's service cause they seemed good and honest. Now except for any problems that arise from the work they just did I will not be coming back to Koon's for service. Know what these crooks did? RAISED the price by $500 the very next morning moments before they emailed me a sales agreement prospectus. I will NEVER do business with Koons White Marsh Chevrolet again, and I recommend no one else does either. They sold me a used dodge truck that they imported from Canada, which I soon found out DOES NOT have any manufacturer warranty in the United States. They assured me during the sales process that the remainder of manufacturer warranty would still be applicable. I happened to stop by a dodge dealership for a repair who informed me of the issue with the warranty. When I confronted Koons about the issue, the sales manager lied to my face. I was told it was a matter of transferring the warranty (which is not possible) and they quickly added a 3rd party service contract and told me the warranty would be "transferred to a US warranty code in a couple of days." Thank you for your thoughts, Rachel O. This review is not to say that Koons can't service vehicles in general. You're probably an ace at servicing Chevys, if nothing else. Here's the problem. Telling me "oh, your mileage" says "you're outta time buddy, see ya!" People drive their cars and trucks; mileage happens. You should care if the vehicle is trying to harm your customer. Take the time to completely resolve the issue. "Hey Dave, we really need some time on this complex issue, it's gonna be a while, here's a rental on us, we won't give the truck back to you until we resolve the issue we sold to you." Here's the updated experience with Koons. The first time I brought this major issue to Koons attention, I was told you cannot read Ford computers and I should "take it to a Ford Dealearship". I was charged $125 for nothing. I call and complain, I'm asked to bring it back in. You still cannot service the vehicle and send it to a Ford dealership for me. The Ford dealership cannot figure it out. They do some sort of a reprogramming that doesn't solve the problem. Mind you, the truck loses control a couple times a week, causing me potential accidents/harm. I take it to a mechanic I know. He plugs in his tablet and goes for a drive with me. Within the first 15 minutes he has a code "that anyone should have been able to find". P0722 is the code. A problem in the drive shaft. Output speed sensor - no signal. He tells me to take it in to you because of the extended warranty. If it's not covered, bring it back to him. The part comes in a pack for $100. I call Koons. Should be covered, bring it in so we can confirm. AGAIN, we can't do this because of the Ford computer. We have to send it over to AL Packer Ford. You don't ask me if that works with my schedule, Al Packer doesn't have time to look at it today, I have to go get the truck from Al Packer so I can go to work. Thankfully, I have learned from my many disappointments with Koons. Al Packer can work with the extended warranty, I have an appointment for next week, so you won't be seeing me again. Please tell people, when they buy Fords from you, what you can and cannot do. Be up front with them. Example, "Hey, we can change your oil, rotate tires, even replace a serpentine belt, but we really only "sell" Fords, we can't fully service them. Your extended warranty is not solely committed to us, let us introduce you to Al Packer." This way you will get fewer people like me frustrated with wasted time. The "we did you a favor and took it to a Ford dealership" in your reply is laughable. That's not doing me a favor, that's trying to cope with Koons incapability to service a Ford F-150. It's less expensive to acquire new business from a returning customer than to acquire new customers. I won't be a returning customer. Thank you for the $1,500 in opportunity cost I enjoyed will dealing with the Koons circus. (Thanks for splurging on the $135 reprogram, I know that was a major loss on Koons part). My wife purchased a 2019 traverse went for her first oil change March 3 2019. The tech tighten the oil filter too tight that it cracked. So all of the oil leaked out over a three week period. Oil was all over the engine bottom half . Called and they set me up an appointment two days later. Nick the service department manager was really helpful and nice after having an awful 5 day constant misunderstanding and rude customer service from Courtney whom seemed too busy on her cell phone to listen to my car concerns first she scheduled me for wrong service and had my car for 5 days before even calling me with wrong assessment that I didn't even ask for then charged me for this service that was not needed after multiple phone calls where she was rude finally got ahold of nick the manager who Courtney would not put on the phone he was very nice and helpful so thank you Nick unfortunately my experience was awful to say the least but thank you to nick he resolved my dispute so Thank you and Courtney should really put her cell phone down and actually listen to customers infront of her this caused me 5 days of inconvenience n frustration so never again will I go to this place !!!! read more

This is the fifth used car we have purchased from Koons White Marsh Chevrolet. We have recommended six other friends and family in the past three years to purchase their used cars from them as well. They offer good trade-in values and reasonable pricing for the cars they sell. Their used cars are backed by their service guarantee. Mike was great in appraising our car to give us the highest trade-in amount which gave us equity to put on the new vehicle. Sean Knefel was our sales associate, and he was open, honest, friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process to give us the right car to fill all our needs. The finance department was excellent in giving us the best rate and payment per month which was lower than we were paying on our old loan, and it even included GAP, extended warranty and oil change/tire rotation for two years included. This was the worst experience I've ever had trying to buy a car My nightmare started on Monday November 29 th 2021. I came into the dealership first I was told I was approved for a equinox I was told I just needed a down payment two days later I had my down payment went back to the dealership the car was sold that's understandable.Then I was told I was only approved for a Trax I really didn't want that but I settled on the Trax at the end of the day I just needed a dependable vehicle . Had to come back the next day then I was told it was mine I filled out all the paperwork gave them my $1,500 down payment the deal was supposed to been done all I needed was one pay stubs and to pick up the car. I came in ( this is day 3) to pick the car up I waited for 3-4 hours and then was told someone messed up my paperwork. They had me attached to someone I don't know as a co signer and had me down for a car that was not mine for my trade in the talk of a co signer never came up so why do I have a co signer on my paperwork This is on a Saturday I was told I had to wait until Monday for them to fix my paperwork and I would be able to get the car. I had to play the phone game all day Monday and come to find out I wasn't approved at all , I was told they were trying to get me approved remind you I done already gotten insurance on the new car dropped my insurance on my old one and still no car . They just put me in a hole now I owe MVA and still no car Here it is Monday again a whole seven days and still nothing!!!! read more

Super impressed with Koons. My husband actually bought a Chevy from the Koons in Annapolis, as we live close to there. We needed a minor repair done yesterday and over the past month and a half, I have been to three different dealers for a different vehicle that needed a few software update tweaks. I had been horribly disappointed with the dealers- one was in Virginia, one was in Harford County, one was in Anne Arundel County. Needless to say, I was on the hunt for a different dealer to do our maintenance. So I drove the hour to try out Koons. Koons White Marsh was awesome- all of their staff were the most professional I've ever seen. The shuttle driver was such a sweet heart- plus they are located by White Marsh Mall and surrounding restaurants. Their waiting lounge was very large and had really comfortable chairs. On top of that, this morning, I had a Customer Service Associate call me to ask how my experience was. This has never happened to me in all the years I've taken a vehicle into a dealership. I have had to call other dealers (actually all three as previously mentioned) to complain about my service, so I was absolutely floored. Horrible experience! Sales person didn't know what he was doing and dropped the ball. Didn't pay off our trade in a reasonable time frame and I was told I needed to handle it. The 45k truck they sold us was rusting apart and had thousands of dollars in mechanical issues right after purchasing that they would not stand behind. Had to sell truck right away and lost 6,500 immediately after purchase. Also Purchased a 5000 warranty which they would not fully refund although it was canceled in less than 60 days of purchase and scott slater basically told me that it was my problem to deal with. Well unfortunately I had to once again deal with the people at Koons. Six months ago I drove off the lot with a 2015 used Chevy Silverado. Not even a week after driving off the lot I realized the tag light was out I took it back and had to deal with very rude customer service. It is now only six months into this vehicle I just purchased and not only is there a recall but my vehicle is stuck in 4 wheel drive. All they had to do was a software update that I'm sure should have been done before this vehicle left the lot. They gave me the run-around on the phone so I decided to walk in. Long story short I am being charged $200 because thank God I did get an extended warranty although I feel like this is something they should be taken care of. But worst of all they wanted to give me a quote because I need new tires on a vehicle I drove off the lot only 6 months ago. I bought two vehicles from this place my father bought three and my sister bought two you would think that they would go out of their way to please a customer that brings them business like this. DO NOT BUY VEHICLES FROM THIS PLACE!!! you are their favorite customer while trying to get a new vehicle but the second you drive off the lot you will become a burden and a inconvenience to them. We purchased a brand new Chevrolet Tahoe from Koon's Chevrolet of White Marsh, MD in 2018. It now has 31,000 miles on it. We drove an hour to this dealership multiple times even though we could've bought 1 closer to home because we had loyalty to the sales person who spent all of the time with us. There was nothing better about the price etc. With owning our own business we understand the importance of time & commission. As of June 30th, it had 3 issues 1. Air conditioner was not working 2. Thump sound coming from under drivers side area when driving 3. Peeling paint on an area where bumper meets side panel We drove it out of town for the 4th of July holiday & the AC wasn't working. I called & scheduled service on July 5 for a July 8 appointment. I explained to guy in service what the issues were & that I had tried to take it for the paint to another dealership closer to home & they advised that I would need to go to a dealership with a body shop & that Koons had 1 since that is where I had bought the car so when I made the appointment I notified of them of all of this & requested a loaner car since it would probably be a couple of day fix if it was paint related. They said OK & transferred me to the call center to make the appointment. I mentioned many times that I expected these things to be covered under warranty. At no time did anybody say they wouldn't be or that my car was out of warranty. My husband takes the morning away from our business to drive the car an hour away for the services. Upon arrival at Koons, without even trying to be helpful or offering other avenues the service advisor (Charlie) was immediately snarky & couldn't wait to tell my husband that the car was out of warranty & we would have to pay for the loaner & diagnostic fee & that any repair would be out of pocket because we were 11 days out of warranty even though mileage was low. When I made the appointment we were 3 business days out of warranty. This immediately upset us. My husband said isn't there anything you can do & the advisor said no you've never even used us before why would I help you. Which actually is inaccurate. Koons repaired things on our car & did an oil change or two. However a car with 31,000 miles shouldn't need many services so of course we hadn't used you for anything else why would we. So here we are the first time we really need assistance after buying a very expensive car from Koons & we are treated this way. We own a business that deals with warranties and manufacturers nonstop. We have to service & warranty units that we did not install. We've made exceptions for customers. We always go above & beyond. We have a 5 star rating. Chevy does the same. Nobody even ever offered to try & help us or call GM or anything. As a Cadillac owner I know the lengths that my local dealership has went through for me even though I did not buy the car through them. So I told my husband to ask for the manager & try to get the same level of service that we've had with our prior vehicle through Cadillac. While he did that I called Chevy. I spoke with a great advisor & received a case ID & filed my complaint. I got everything taken care of on the phone with somebody that we had not spent a dollar with. That's customer service. Meanwhile my husband is wasting time debating the level of customer service we deserve with your manager (Dan) after having quite the discussion with your advisor. The advisor was arrogant & unhelpful. The manager wasn't very helpful either but at least he wasn't that arrogant & rude. My husband drove the car back to our local dealer who picked up the case & fixed everything & helped us get it covered. Yes the dealership that we did not give the business of a car sale to was the one that ended up helping us so guess who gets our business going forward. Jeff D'Ambrosio that's who. Bought a used car here feb, 1 no real complaints in buying process, paid what I wanted for car and got what I want in trade for my old one. Bad things started happening in finance, I usually go in pre-approved but was not certain I would buy, anyway they run the old buy this warranty and protection packages and I can get you a better interest rate. Which is bs and I'm 57, I know this game, told them get me out the door I'm gonna refinance this anyway. So, now it's feb, 24 and my old car is not paid off, I think 3 weeks is a reasonable timeframe to expect them to payoff my trade. Thank god I don't live check to check, because now I'm making two car payments. Oh, they have already sold my trade in, which I still legally own according to my bank, as I'm responsible for it till it's paid off. So now the aggravation begins, they say they mailed the payoff out today, hope so or I expect return of my trade in which I legally own. read more

I used the kbb (Kelly Blue Book) site to get an idea of the value of my truck. I was honest with the issues it had. I was asked if I wanted a bona fide offer. When I answered yes, I got a nice offer and given this business name and address to bring my car in. When I brought the vehicle in, they went over it very carefully and test drove it. One of the sales people came over and said that the vehicle was exactly as I represented it, but that it came back as 'ineligible' for some reason he didn't know. He said it was from kbb. They all then tried to sell me a car and said they would take mine as a trade in. I called kbb the next day, and they said that they had nothing to do with it. This place called me again offering to take my truck in trade. I sold my truck elsewhere and bought a vehicle elsewhere. My intensions were good but the policies of the dealership turned this purchase into an ugly situation. My girlfriend was extremely busy and her car went belly up on the beltway. We tried several times to find a specific make and model on the internet to no avail. We finally found what she wanted at Koons Chevrolet White Marsh. It was a used car with low mileage and a fair price, but that's where the good news stopped. She gave me permission to shop this car for her so I went to test drive it on her behalf. After the test drive, I approved the car and when presented with the total cost including tax title and tags I called her for final approval to which she agreed. This is when the "situation" started. I wanted to give a deposit to hold the car for 24 hours until she could fill out the paper work and finalize the sale. The sales manager informed me that they don't take deposits, I was baffled! He said what happens if someone comes in with cash and wants to buy the car in the mean time? I said "you hold the car for the 24 hours until I return and if I don't you keep my deposit." He replied well we don't do business that way anymore. If she actually wanted the car I would have to pay for the car in full that minute! Begrudgingly I agreed and wrote a check for the car in full. The bad blood continued as the sales manager badgered me about how the person writing the check had to be included on the title of the car which is absolutely crazy. But it gets worse......he wanted my social security number for some federal form to make sure everything was on the up and up. Sadly I even gave in on that. Finally after being beat over the head by a financial manager about extended warranties and the such he turned me back over to the Sales woman Ariel. She gave me a piece of paper with her email address to send some final documents and said goodbye. I got to the end of their driveway and thought to myself, "she never asked me for the check after all this stupidity!" I turned around and returned to write the check, but she never even apologized. Today when we returned to pick up the car she wasn't even working and the paperwork for title was so screwed up it took yet another hour before we could leave!.......This was the second car purchased from Koons, but there will NEVER be another one! read more
