They go out of their way to find something that will work for you to drink and they're always there before your glass goes empty. If you're going in thinking that the decor is fancy, then this isn't the place for you. If you're coming for great food and friendly people than you arrived at your destination. My wife ordered the ribeye which was cooked to absolute perfection and the other three of us ordered the prime rib. What made their prime rib so much different is that it wasn't over seasoned and subpar quality. They let the meat speak for itself and it was tender and unforgettable. Hildreth is a little bit out of the way, but it's definitely worth stopping in.

They have a special every evening. We have been their for Burger Night on Friday and had great burgers. All their meat is local USDA Choice. Last Saturday got there for the prime rib and rib eye steak special. Had them both and they were done perfectly and the beef was tender. The "cheesy potatoes" were homemade and excellent. Service is good and the owner and staff are friendly. Bring Cash....no credit cards here. They do have an ATM in case you forget. The place isn't fancy....just an old time country bar with an assortment of different tables. The kitchen area appears clean. It would be nice if they could put in some new modern restrooms.

Always looking for local, we found McKinney's Pub on 3rd West in downtown Grand Island…read more Looking like most of the smaller Irish pubs I've been in, in the Midwest, theirs an immediate comfort as soon as you walk into the door. Green walls, dark wood and brass foot rails. I, of course, started off with a Guinness, which was perfectly poured and my wife a Diet Coke. The staff is relaxed and friendly, giving us plenty of time to look over a fairly extensive menu. My wife decided on the Buffalo Chicken wrap, and I went all in on the Peanut butter burger. My wife really liked her wrap, lots of contrasting goodies to complement the chicken with had some bite but wasn't too spicy. If you're going to tray a peanut butter burger, you need to like peanut butter- it gives the burger a different taste. Served with a mandarin chutney on a tasty bun, I found myself liking it more and more as I enjoyed it. We were offered desserts, but declined as we were absolutely stuffed. Oh, how could I forget to mention the curled chip!!!!nothing short of awesome! Think of a curly cue fry combined with a steak fry. Really, really great!

Typical kids menu foods done well. Salads were nice. Bread rolls with cinnamon butter a real treat. So much to choose from... I had the shepherd's pie with champ on top... Best I've had in awhile. Really hot and took a while to finish. I tried the fun curled chips and they were lightly seasoned... My wife would have preferred them a little crisper but they were perfect for me and they had malt vinegar on the table... Delicious. The decor was perfect and bathrooms clean. I'd come back here in a flash. The staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Worst experience I've had. I traveled from out of state to…read morevisit Kearney as a potential place to relocate and decided to dine at this restaurant during my stay. Unfortunately, that decision turned into a very negative experience. Our server was initially pleasant, but that quickly changed. After paying my tab using my phone, I placed it on the table while continuing to play billiards. When I returned, my phone was gone. Using Find My iPhone, I could see that the device was still located inside the restaurant. I asked the server if she had seen my phone, but she denied any knowledge of it and stated that no one had found a phone--despite the tracker clearly indicating it was there. The following day, I returned in hopes that someone had turned it in. When I approached the same server, she appeared extremely nervous, repeatedly using profanity and running into the kitchen before returning and attempting to change the subject. When I again asked about my phone, I received the same denial. I ultimately left feeling defeated. As a solo traveler, losing my phone caused significant stress--I was unable to access flight information, order transportation, or contact family. All of this occurred over a cracked iPhone that is unusable once reported lost or stolen. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and left a very poor impression.
