That combo was dangerously good. As for the rest it's very much a typical mini-mart gas station. Clean, stocked with the usual stuff (lottery, tobacco, snacks, even those random machines), nothing over the top. The only downside for me is the layout getting in and out. It sits right on a busy corner at a light, and if it's crowded, it can feel a little chaotic trying to maneuver around the pumps. But honestly? I'm not here for the gas. I'll happily deal with the traffic situation for a nostalgic, perfectly textured slush puppy any day. If you're anywhere near Jonestown and grew up loving those, do yourself a favor and stop in. We were on I-80 during a bad storm when I thought I heard a rumble from one of our tires. I didn't have any indicator light up warning of low air, but we stopped at a rest stop anyway to look. Nope, all the tires seemed fine. We went to the next exit, and (after a few frustrating missteps), AAA suggested we try Earl's Garage. We called them, about a mile away, and drove over and waited about 15 minutes as they finished up working on another car. When they heard the noise, at first they suggested it might be the crankshaft. But when one of them drove it into the garage, the other saw the front left wheel wobble. ... The lug nuts had come loose. They tightened them up, checked the other tires, and $20 later we were on our way. We couldn't thank them enough.

Labor Day weekend, 2004: My car was packed and ready to go for a camping trip upstate and I traveled about 25mi from my house when I heard a POP in the engine and the battery light came on. Shortly thereafter, the coolant light came on as well. I knew that I was screwed. It was like 2:30pm on the Friday before Labor Day, my car was jam packed with camping equipment, food and booze and I just broke a serpentine belt. Earl's came and got me quickly, towed me back to Elizabethville (where I was living at the time) and fixed my car that very afternoon. They could have tried the ol' "your water pump froze up" trick and really gouged me on the price, but they just put a new belt on and the car worked fine. I was back on the road by 6pm and my weekend was saved. Kudos to Earl's Garage.
