They have a variety of Japanese foods, treats, beverages, and alcoholic beverages. I just love Mitsuwa stores in general. We unfortunately didn't get in until just about closing time for the Food Court. It would've been sooner had I not needed to clean up my youngest daughter who got carsick the moment we parked the car... we drove out from Vegas. But this location was just five minutes away from the hotel we were going to spend the night in. Hopefully if we come back to this area, we will be able to get here sooner and have a better experience and opportunity to order from a larger selection of restaurants in the Food Court that will be open.

I ordered the karaage with curry. The food came out hot and fresh, which was a plus. The curry itself was pleasant, leaning a bit on the sweeter side. The karaage had a light batter and was fried nicely the chicken was juicy and paired well with the curry. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, I'd still prefer going to the Costa Mesa location because it offers more variety when it comes to food.

Don't be surprised when coming here that the parking lot is diabolical on the weekends - good luck trying to find a spot ! I came here once on a weekend & I would not advise - even street parking is scarce. Your best bet is to come on a weekday & you'll most likely find a spot in the teeny lot on Gardenia. THe store only has 2 registers & it's a zoo on the weekends. If you have craving for Khmer food, come here... chances are they have it. Beef skewers, pickled veggies, nom kom, to name a few. If you're looking for fish sauce or oyster sauce that's specifically made in Cambodia, they have it which I haven't seen at any other Khmer market or asian market. For how little the store is, there's a lot jammed inside. I was happy to find kreung here as I am too lazy to make my own ! and another rare find, Monk Balm (think tiger balm), & other medicinal items. You know the place is legit when you try asking a worker a question & they know NO english. If you're unfamiliar best to bring a Khmer speaker with to help assist in any questions.

You can find authentic Cambodian prepared foods, meats, noodles, fresh cut up mangoes or pineapples, and so much more. I've been craving their beef sticks and these are the best in my opinion. Something about the marinated ingredients they put in makes my mouth salivating. I bought 6 beef sticks for $12 which comes with papaya salad. A bit pricey, but nice to indulge once in a while. This market is where I buy all my Asian ingredients like soy sauce, hoisin, garlic chili, oyster sauce, and fish sauce. Can't forget the pickled mangoes in a jar. Absolutely my favorite to snack on during a hot day. Sweet at the same time sour goodness! Wai Wai noodles is a staple in our kitchen, therefore that's always in our shopping cart. Parking can get tight when it's busy, but people come in and out so you'll eventually find a space. Service does need improvement, but never had an issue with the cashiers. I will continue to go shopping there just because it's convenient for me when I need something quick.

I waited for a while and received no assistance so I asked the guy for help. The man did not speak Dutch so I explained to him what I wanted (salami deli meat). I asked him for a pound of deli meat. I went to shop around the store and noticed the fridges were empty as were the isles. After a few minutes I came back to the deli counter and found my uncut piece of meat (in tube form) placed on the weigh scale? To my dismay I asked him if he was going to cut it with the pretty slicer machine near him? I mean that's how it used to work and how it works at any other deli meat counters. As the man cut the salami I continued to shop and picked up a jar of silver onions that looked brownish ( the onions inside the jar) and I thought well maybe they are supposed to look this way. Maybe they were a different type of onions. When I thought to look for an expiration date again to my dismay I observed that it had been expired since 2023. Unfortunately I purchased extra pedas chili which looked ok but when I got home I found out that it has been expired since 2018 (please see attached picture). This wasn't the worst of it though because we found a jar of something with leafy green bits that had been expired since 2013. Yes 2013! Bro! You think I should try the chili? You think I'll survive? This place has gone to the pits. Hopefully a health inspector straightens this place out. Furthermore when I got the salami back the slices looked as if my he deli meat cutter blade was very dull.

And I'm so glad I did! This place has such an amazing variety of Thai ingredients...I ended up picking up a bunch of other ingredients that I hadn't planned on (coconut cream powder, milk tea packet, tom yum soup base, etc). I plan on coming back for more. I typically do most of my asian ingredient grocery store shopping at 99 Ranch, but have been unable to find specific Thai ingredients there. But they basically have that all here! I want to come back to get unique ingredients like ground galangal, pad thai sauce, and pickled onions/chilis. The lady running the store was also very nice! Two different customers had come in the store as I was browsing and seemed to be friendly with her! She also let me know to ask her if I had any questions or needed help finding anything. Which I did! I was specifically looking for the Oliang iced coffee, which they were out of stock of but were working on restocking (so I'll be back for that as well). And asked her a few questions as I was checking out about thai boat noodle recipes and ingredients. Very friendly! I can't wait to be back lol. Easy street parking along the side of the store.

I dropped off Mom and her friend to meet more friends at the El Rocoto restaurant nearby. I ran errands while I waited for them. I underestimated the time they were gonna take since they finished early, so they asked to meet/pick them up here. They were by the door when she told me "They have pink alamang (shrimp paste) available here." (For those not so in the know, this paste has been banned for health reasons, I'm guessing. Something about its ingredients the FDA doesn't allow.) Been looking for that one particular ingredient to make binagoongan and up until now, I only find them at ridiculous prices (up to $35/jar!) They were selling it here $8.99. So I got one. Took a quick walk through out of curiosity, and they do have plenty of familiar Pinoy products. It isn't as big as the Seafood City I'm used to but they have plenty to offer. And that includes a turo-turo deli serving up ready to eat hot/cooked food. Mom went for an order of sinigang bangus, menudo and crispy chicken skin. Sinigang bangus was disappointing. I heard my Mom ask the server if that was in fact, sinigang. I heard the server reply with a resounding yes. We got home and learned it's not sinigang: it's pinangat, which is a whole different dish. And if that wasn't disappointing enough, the fish was soooooo dry, which means it's been simmering for far too long. Didn't get to try the menudo, so can't comment on that. Okay first run. I guess I'll stop by if I happen to need something Filipino specific and if I happen to be in the area.
